I created a resume on careerbuilder.com about two weeks ago and after two days I received an email from Cornerstone America saying they wanted to interview me.

Yesterday I went in and honestly the office was very very small, maybe 3 offices and a small "reception/waiting" area with no one waiting to see what you were there for. In one office there were a group of guys standing around, they all seemed to be in their mid twenties and dressed very professionally. One came out and asked if I was there for an interview and I said yes. He lead me to the office in the back and it seemed like a classroom. Two people were already sitting there and four more showed up after I did.

The manager came in and for the next hour almost tried to sell us the job. There was a powerpoint presentation and he talked up the job a lot. When he mentioned there was a $150 background check fee and you had to pay about $110 to get your insurance liscence he didn't really go into why we had to pay other than the company policy is that they won't pay for new employees.

After the presentation three men interviewed each person alone and my interview was more like him telling me I got the job because I seem like a great candidate. I am a nineteen year old female with great job experience at Honeywell but still, the fact that I had gotten this job so easy came as a shock to me.

For the next five minutes I was more excited than confused and I ended up making a log in account for the company which included entering my social security number. They asked me to come back in the morning with the $150 for the background check and to start training right away.

When I came home I searched the net and read about all the scams. Now I am actually worried that my social security number is in their system. I am thankful I didn't give these so called agents any of my money. I pray that no one else buys into their scam.
