They require an actual reservation be made at their site before you can submit the information about the lower price listed elsewhere.
I did so this morning, having found a price of nearly 20% lower on hotels.com. Believing that they would honor the lower price as advertised, I booked through the countryinns.com site, and then submitted the info on and link to the lower price I had found on hotels.com. Their system does not allow attachments, or I would have sent them a screen capture of the page.
It took them several hours to get back to me, and when they did, they denied the claim, since by that time there were no more rooms available in their hotel as listed on the hotels.com site.
They wrote, "thank you for letting us assist you," while denying my claim.
In something as time-sensitive as ever-changing rates and availabilities, this company should be more prompt in investigating lower-price claims, or they should simply do away with the guarantee.
