Countrywide Home Loans/Bank Of America No escrow account..Taxes were not late they paid them now payment has doubled Simi Valley California

Bank of America escrowed my taxes, too.  I was given no notification or even asked if I would like to do this.  I signed an agreement with Countrywide 4 years ago and even put more money down so that my taxes and insurance would not be escrowed.  Now they have said that my payment went from /$600 to 1300 because of escrow shortage.  Can they do this legally?  I was struggling to make the 600 payment.  There is NO WAY to pay them more than double and I think they know this and are doing it deliberately to take my home - I even told one representative this and he assured me that there was no "conspiracy".  His word, not mine.  But it sure feels like one.  I applied for the Loan Modification and it has been a living nightmare from day one.  The USA is not a free country anymore.  This is democracy?  They are making decisions of where you can and cannot live.  I live very modestly and scrimp and save every penny to live in a home.  But it's not working - BAC is threatening me with foreclosure and saying my loan modification was cancelled because of "lack of requested information"  This is not the reason because I have supplied every single item that they requested.  So much for helping the beleagured homeowners.  You are going to see more foreclosures than ever now because BAC is singlehandedly foreclosing on more people through this program than they are helping  - It's disgusting and inhumane and downright unAmerican (of course, I'm not sure what "AMerican" means anymore.

I just wanted to let you know that I some how felt a little better knowing I was not the only one BOA has screwed over by escrowing our house taxes. We are trying to speak to someone face to face, but so far they just hide behind threatning letters. I hope your situation works out and as for ours, I hope so also before we are forced out of our own home. I have also posted a rip off report for them here in Dallas Texas, We are on your side. The same thing happened to me. We have IndyMac bank. I had paid over $7500. in tax payments. We did not have an escrow account. Seems my last payment on the tax's was one day late which generated a $10.00 fee. Unknown to me Indymac had called the tax board and checked on the tax's. They were told that they were deliquent. Deliquent because of the aditional $10.00 late fee that was due. Seems that your tax's are completely in arrears if just one penny is not paid. They didn't tell them that $7500. had been paid and ten dollars was owed. THEY ARE IN DeFAULT!!! Indymac then paid the tax's without discussing it with me, opened an escrow account and informed me that our mortgage payment would double the next month. What a mess. We were not able to afford those payment.

I contacted Grander Financial a company advertising on KFI Radio. They are connected with Hayward law group and they specialize in Loan Modifications. They charge a flat fee of $3995. Paid in three installments. $1500.00 initially, 1500. when they submit a proposal and $1000. when it goes through.

We originally paid $1912.50 interest only. That did not include tax's principal or insurance

Our rate was reduced , possible lowering of the balance and we will pay $1934.68 per month which will now include tax's,principal ,interest and insurance. Were back in the blue.

IndyMac originally said that we were not eligible for a loan modification since we were current on our payments! Figure that. Penalized for being on time.

Hang in there and you can get a modification!! We did.
