County of Riverside CA Tax Collector Riverside County Tax Assessor, Treasurer Elder Abuse - Overtaxation and failure to notify of taxes due despite repeated attempts Internet

This concerns an 87 year old woman who lives in Palm Desert CA.  The County of Riverside has refused to mail out a tax bill so that they can overcharge an elderly woman when the tax is not paid.  In spite of repeated efforts to get notification by mail, the County refuses to mail out a tax bill like every other tax agency in the US, and claim they have no obligation to do so for an elderly woman.

The tax was due on Dec 10, 2012.  We did not catch it until January 8, less than a month later, but the county is intent on this scheme to defraud an elderly woman of her needed money.  They claim it is the responsibility of the taxpayer to contact the County of Riverside to find out every time taxes are due.

They refuse to waive the penalty in spite of their refusal to provide a tax bill as is the norm.  I know the County of Riverside is desperate for money, but to fleece an elderly woman demands the response of the community to stand up and protest this injust practice by the Tax Assessor.   We have demanded to speak with the head of the tax office, but he refuses to respond.  Please help us.
