In 2005, I purchased a 2005 Chevy. About a year later, I noticed a defect in the windshield. I had the defect "repaired" (the windshield is leaking as
it was never properly replaced but I think the dealership will correct that issue).

In 2006, my husband purchased a 2006 car of the same model. One day out of nowhere (earlier this week), he noticed a crack in the windshield. He knew that my windshield had been defective and naturally assumed that
this crack was due to an unseen defect in the glass.

He took the car to Courtesy Chev Olds and was told that the crack was caused by a stone. He did not recall anything hitting the car and explained this to them in addition to the information about the defect in my glass which had compromised the integrity of the windshield.

The dealership has refused to pay for this repair and the car is just over one year old! Having seen what the defect was like in my car, I have no doubt that there was a similar defect in his car but the dealership refuses to take responsibility.

The cost for this repair is about $300 and we were shocked that Courtesy would not cover this repair. I spoke with our sales person, and explained the situation to him. He has not been able to help us either.

Clearly this dealership no longer to be in business. GM should have paid for this repair.

You need to remember one thing about dealerships and manufacture warranty's.
it's the manufacturer's warranty, not the dealerships.
The dealership is under no obligation what-so-ever to work on your car. things do fly up off the road and break glass. You should be glad that they did fix your glass.
