Cowling Investigations, Inc Allen Cowling ripped me off $5000 Brandon, Mississippi

Last filing for a Mississippi Business License was 04-11-2011 (yearly filing).  Filing listed Investigation Services. 09-13-2012 Notice to Dissolve/Revoke.  12-07-2012 Admin Dissolution.

There is a Complaint on Google Reviews about Allen Cowling Investigations.  It states, "BIG rip off! surprised the attorneys havent put him out of business!"  How can he be in business when the Social Security Death Index listed him has dead in 2011?  What's going on?  Shouldn't someone investigate this?

Has the false allegation lawsuit been dismissed in Rankin County, MS, as well?

I feel relieved that I did not use this company. I also called this company and after extensive research on their website, I placed a call to them. I was told that the initial retainer would be $5,000.00.  I did not feel as though they were really concerned about getting to the bottom of my problem.  This was to be a child custody case in Rankin County.  I will say that after speaking with the yuong woman who answered the phone, I elected to use the services of another investigative company and he was excellent!! and a lot cheaper. 

The two cases were not adjudicated.  The cases were dismissed.  The cases were civil and not criminal.  Allen N. Cowling expired on 12-06-11.

The civil action filed on March10, 2010, by Cowling Investigations, Inc. against Kim Busbea has been adjudicated in favor of Cowling Investigations, Inc and Allen Cowling.

There have been 2 completely unjustified complaints filed against me and my company. The person who filed the first complaint was given every opportunity to apologize.  They did not and we filed a $200,000.00 lawsuit against them, now pending in Rankin County, Mississippi.  The verdict will be posted here when done.  As to the second complaint, since it would do no good financially for us to file a suit against them, since they have seen fit to trash me and since I have given them every opportunity to apologize, I am in the process of preparing a webpage for my site that details that entire case, including names of those involved, from the time of our initial involvement until now.  The facts will be supported by emails they seem to forget we have, and then she can explain to her brother who is sitting in prison why she did what she did.  I will not allow anyone to trash me without giving people both sides of the story.

For every complaint made, I can produce 100 clients who are happy and well satisfied with the services we provide.  If the person who "applauded" the complaints and decided not to retain me becasue of them had a grain of sense, they would have at least attempted to determine the truth before being sucked into such nonsense, but I suspect that comment was made by a competitor who was happy to see the complaints and is simply attemting to continue getting mileage from them.  Why are these poeple who are making complaints and filing negative comments not identifying themselves?  Why are they not filing suit against me?

I have not ever taken any client's money in a dishonest manner and have never failed to provide the services we contracted for.  The problem is, some are not satisfied with the results and would not be regardless of what they were.  If you choose to believe these absoltely false complaints, no do not even consider retaining me.  I have been an investigator for the past 41 years and specialized in defending the falsely accused since 1989.  2 complaints based on over 500 cases is not a bad average.

After reviewing the reports filed against this company, I have elected to seek services elsewhere. I am appauled that someone could take someone's hard earned money and perform in the manner in which I have read.  I thank both posters for giving the public an option not to waste their time and money with this company.  I actually was considering hiring them. 

On Friday, March 3, 2010, after 3 requests that the person who made this false complaint remove it and apologize were ignored, we filed a lawsuit against them in Rankin County, Mississippi asking for $200,000.00 in actual damages and $500,000.00 in punitive damages.  I an so sorry it came to this but the complaint she made against us was false, she knew it and made her complaint simply with intentions of trying to jurt us.  When this happens there are no winners, but the only resolution will comes through a Court's verdict.  Obviously that verdict will be posted here as soon as trial ends.

I was retained by this woman to conduct an investigation on an hourly basis. She clearly knew and understood my fees. It is plainly identified on my website that all time is billed regardless if it was spent on the telephone, responding to emails, conducting interviews, research or preparing reports. At the time that I discontinued the investigation, she owed us a balance of over $900.00. She personally asked for a report and it was sent to her. The BBB discussed her complaint with us and based on the information we supplied to them, they closed their case. Prior to this woman making her final contact to my office, I talked at length with another family member. They were clearly told the time that had been paid in the retainer had expired, but they were also aware that I planned to continue working at no additional cost. I had asked that family member to do something specific and call me back. If they were unable to complete the task, we would attempt it. Just after that conversation, the woman that retained me called my office and I discontinued the investigation based on that call.
