be no charge for the transfer. After the simple hookup, the next bill had a charge of around $75.00 extra for the service. It took about a week, and many persistent calls to finally get the charge removed from the web site, so that the correct amount I owed was displayed before I would pay the bill.
Soon after, my service became flaky, conking out for hours at a time. When I called for a service repair call on a Tuesday, I was told no service tech could come until Saturday. Saturday came, and no one showed up. I called again, very upset as I had made special arrangements to be there all day so the service could be repaired, and was jerked around until Monday. The tech guy said the initial install was poor, that the tech never properly checked line level signals, and changed out a severely worn connector.
The next month I get another bill with added charges that took many days and many calls to correct.
Then I get an August bill, and pay it early. The next months bill comes, and the charges for August are added to it, they say they didnt receive payment. This is after I paid at their web site, and received an email confirmation. When I call again to complain, the woman said there is no record of my payment. I told her I would not pay another bill until I am properly
billed. I sent them the email confirmation, and still no correction to the online bill amount they say is due.
It is clear that someone is tampering with my file in their computers to punish me for complaints previously filed, to retaliate for likely disciplinary actions received. I have read horror stories from others on the internet of Cox discriminating against those who stand up to them by harassing them in a manner that causes them not to pay so they can discontinue service. This is illegal, and I want acknowledgement for what I have paid, and intervention from someone to stop them for torturing others.

You are basically saying that someone at Cox is so pissed at you that they spent the time to monitor your account. Then when they see you made a payment to just magically "erase" the payment from their entire system. Not only would someone at a lower level NOT have the power to do this, they wouldn't risk their job for something like this.
But let's just take a look at what they would have to do. First they would have to just erase the payment from your account..this is probably the easiest of all of the steps but still not easy with the safeguards that are probably in place. Of course since you made the payment on-line, it requires that someone monitor your account on a daily(if not hourly) basis to see when you made a payment. Now, once it is removed from your account you still have the problem of the money that was taken out of your account is still floating around their system. So their ledgers no longer match..yes even a $50-$200 difference would be noticed by their accountants. So this same person who wiped out your payment would have to magically remove this transaction from every one of their accounting systems by most likely having it go back on your bank or credit card. Of course this has to be done without a trace, so they can't just do a simple credit..they have to make it look like it never occurred.
Sounds totally logical and something that happens everyday right?
