Cox charged a $50 "return check fee" for a CREDIT CARD payment that failed.

I am sure they did. So you are blaming Cox for your personal issues huh. Quit blaming Cox for everything that goes wrong in your life.  You should be embarrassed having ther nerve.

Check with Cox...

That is correct.  However, I would suggest you check with Cox regarding this issue to obtain an explanation for the charge.  They may be willing to cancel it if you explain the situation to them...also mentioning their lack of anything in writing to justify the charge.  

Keep us posted on how it turns out.  There may be others out there who've experienced the same situation as you.

Never heard of charging a fee for declined credit card payment.

And Cox does not have a published policy regarding charging a fee for a declined credit card payment. It only has a published policy for return check fee. My credit card was declined because it was registered for auto payment and it expired.

What is it you are trying to say by filing a report here?  I too have Cox services and they will...like most every other service provider out there...charge a fee if you submit a payment via check, debit card, or credit card and it is not honored by your financial institution.
