My home phone was been barraged with messages from this company trying to get a hold of me over money due to my bank that the BANK overdrew from my husbands credit card. The first time I spoke with C.C.S they kept trying to get me to pay right away asking if I knew someone with money who could loan me some and if I could pay so much a month (which I am unable to do because my husband and myself are out of work [he's doing school online and I'm watching our son all day). Anyways, I received this letter today from our bank:

WARNINGNOTICE.COM-WARNINGNOTICE.COM

This notice and all further steps undertaken by this agency will be in compliance with applicable State and Federal Law(s). In Accordance with Federal Law, the following warning notice is required: This is an attempt to collect a debt and any information obtained will be used for that purpose. This information was sent from a debt collector.

The above referenced amount has been listed with this office for recovery.
Please remit payment in the envelope provided or visit our secure website:

The thing is, when I spoke with them on the phone with bill was $200-something. All the sudden now it's $400-something?! I don't know what made me decide to look up the address but I found RipOffReport and saw these claims about C.C.S and now I wonder...should I pay these people that I have a "debt" with or what?

Could be a scam?

AUTHOR: Bman - (United States of America)

There are many posts similar to yours within the past week that may be helpful, along with some very good information on how to counter these jerks. The basic consensus is that there are rouges that pretend that they represent a bank of credit card company or mortgage provider, yet their only job is to extort money. My thinking is first you need to call the bank to find out whether they have handed over your account to them or not. If so then you will have an answer. If not then pay them ZERO. I am no expert in this and empathize with what it is you must be going through. I also, when this is figured out, would contact this government agency to alert them to this fraud if this is what it turns out to be:
