The offer states to do nothing if I do not wish to activate, so i did nothing, tore the card and disposed of it. A week later i recieved a billing statement from this credit card company. I did call the number on statement, they said the only thing i could do is close the account, i told them i never activated it and they wouldnt agree with me, they didnt have a dispute dept. that i could access by phone.
Basically they say i owe this bill with their finance charge and enroll fee on it, no purchases on it of course because i never activated card in first place. I am just amazed that a company could knowingly be so criminal.
And i thought i was doing the right thing by not activating the card, which i never applied for in the first place! These people need to be Stopped!!!! I would welcome any help in this matter, i have reported them to my state's Attny. General and to the FTC. I hope that they will help me, wondering if i need to do more.....
