I bought a Cricket phone at Best Buy. They were very busy and the associate said I could activate the ohone online very easily. At home I followed the instruction to activate the phone, which included making the 1st month's $55 payment. The activation never completed and I never received a phone number. I called customer service. The agent was not well versed in English and could not understand what I was saying and I could not understand her.
We went through the activation process again and at the very end, after taking the $55 payment process I was disconnected. I called back, again, the agent was not well versed in English. Went though the wole process again only to have the agent tell me that they were having problems activating the phone and it would take up to 48 hours. I asked wehen my 1st month's service would start and was told "today". I said "forget it". I am going to bring back the ohone to Best Buy and return it as I was not comfotable with their service. I returned the phone to Best Buy and received a refund.
A few days late when checking my crdit card statement I saw I was billed for the service. I called Cricket and they said that since the phone was activated they could not refund my money. I told them it was never activated. They said it was. I asked for the number but they could not give it to me. Demanded to speak to a manager and they put me on hold. I could hear them take the call of hold every few minutes them put me back on. (did they not realize they have music on hold, so the end user knows when someone picks up) Stayed on hold for 45 minutes and suspect no manager was ever going to pick up. Now I have to file a chageback with my credit card company and hope I can get my funds back. Stay away from these thieves.
