To future customers,
Do NOT go through "Cricket Wireless Phone or Internet Service." The first time my family decided to purchase a phone was from a local store. The line was long and to my suprise, most of the customers already had a phone and were there for customer complaints...(i.e. billing). I should have known, but I figured they didn't pay their bill so its their fault. Ironically, we purchase a phone and local service. On November 29, 2005, we found out that the cell phone service was shut off. So we went online to see what the problem was, it showed that we were delinquent on November's Month Payment which was NOT true- my husband printed out the bank statement and printed out the thankyou for your payment confirmation to his email account from cricketcommunications.com. We always pay our bills on time and always pay a little more every monthly payment. So I had called 1-800-922-5159 (1-800mycricket) used for purchasing and not customer complaints. Tried another phone 1-800-274-2538 this number is a decoy - customer service in Philippines (Asia) wanted to verify our credit card number (hell no!). Finally, after going on our account to frequent questions we click on one of the questions in fine print for another number 1-866-384-4425 and the customer stated that they had fixed the problem, looked on cricket account website and it still said no payment and no cancelling of service. My husband physically walked down to a local cricket with bank receipts and email confirmation from cricket to have the record updated showing current payment and to cancel service. The next payment is not due until Dec- 21-2009 and still cannot seem to cancel. The customer representative told my husband that it is a complicated matter that they cannot handle from their side- HOW COMPLICATED IS IT WHEN YOU HAVE PROOF OF PAYMENT AND CONFIRMATION FROM THEIR COMPANY??? IF THIS IS NOT FINALIZED THIS WEEK, WE WILL HAVE NO OTHER WAY TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE BUT THROUGH LEGAL COURSE.
