Their office is headed by a loser named Eric Dvorak, a possible college dropout. Yet, just like any Cydcor owner, Eric keeps claiming that he finished university and quit his WELL paying job to open his Cydcor office. Haha. Surprise!!! In this report, I will be writing my experience in full detail.
I was unemployed and wanted a job so badly that I fell into this employment scam. I was contacted by their assistand manager/HR personnel Dasha and scheduled an appointment. Dasha kept repeating that I should be wearing business
attire. Ok, that was no problem. I put my suit on and went to the interview. Their office is very small and they share the space with another DS-Max or Cydcor company called Frontline Sacramento who also sells Quil.com office supplies. Anyway, I was interviewed by one of their leaders Kumar and he kept everything vague by telling me how TV ads, flyers, and radios were ineffective marketing and that face to face marketing was the new successful method. He told me that they work with AT&T. This is not so bad, I thought. And when I asked what exactly they do, he told me that they upgrade existing and current AT&T customers' packages into the new U-verse service package. I then asked, How about pay?. Kumar
also dodged the question by saying, If you are chosen for second interview, pay structure will be explained to you in detail during lunch. Ok, I will give it a shot, I thought. Nevertheless, I received a call that evening inviting me to second interview. I showed up to the second interview 20 minutes earlier and heard bunch of screaming and chanting. I didn't understand what was going on. I was to shadow one of their amateur leaders. He had a beater car and we started driving to his assigned territory. In the car, he started asking me bunch of questions trying to make it seem like an important interview. We got to the territory and surprise!!! we started knocking on doors. This wasn't too bad since I needed a job badly. I still thought I would give it shot. If it pays that is. He could not sign anybody up, and we went to lunch. He told me that he forgot his
wallet at home and that he can't buy me a lunch and asked if I would be ok with us just sitting in the car and go over the pay structure and other details. He just showed me printed paper stating the different stages like Sales Account Rep ($300-$500 weekly) Leader ($500-800 Weekly) Assistant Manager ($60,000 yearly) Manager ($90,000-$120,000 yearly). Just a bunch of BS numbers now that I think about it. So I was to start at the bottom stage which is Sales Rep. I asked how much I will be making a week. At least, $300 dollars just like it says on the paper here, plus paid training bonus of $200 he replied. I thought Ok, this is not bad at all. and we started knocking on doors again. He still could not sign anyone up, and we headed back to the office. Back at the office, I was interviewed again by Kumar and was offered the job. Having no
other jobs available to me, I accepted the job, thinking that I would be making at least $300 weekly. I had to show up at 11:00 am at the office. Everybody stood around the office with no chairs or nothing. Shortly after, the new guys were separated from the leaders into a different room. An idiot named Sam Stoleston or whatever kept telling the new guys that how cool and professional this job was and bla bla bla. He really seemed to think and believe that he had accomplished
something big working for this scam. Everyone played dress up, and I noticed most of them had only one suit, and leaders had about 2-3 suits that they kept swapping and wore it to work. After spending the painful 15 minutes in a tiny room with Sam, we joined everybody and Eric, the owner, came out of his tiny office and started reading some success story that he found on the internet. Everyone was like Oh Yeah! Hey Guys!! Hey WHAT!!! HEY GUYS!! HEY WHAT!!! and they were
chanting and screaming. My training started, and my trainer started to practice his pitch on me. I was to memorize bunch of useless crap out of my handbook. We spent more than 3 hours practicing and playing stupid games until about 2:30pm, all unpaid. My trainer had no car, so we had to ride in my car. I also had to drive one of their leaders also. We went out to the field and could not sign anybody up. He explained his failure as this was just a bad territory and Eric should assign us a better territory soon. No one wanted to talk to us, they slammed the doors, and threatened to call the police. We were not there to upgrade existing customers like I was told during the interview. We went back to the office empty handed, and everybody
was like Shhh, we don't talk about production at the end of the day. There's no such thing as a bad day. Keep the positive attitude up. bla bla bla. This is when I understood that they did not want to talk about production because it will scare the new guys.
Everybody was to pretend that they had successful day. so the new guys would believe that there was money to be made everyday! So Eric comes out of his tiny office once again, everybody circled around and the guys who made the sale started to ring a cow bell in the middle and started running around hi-fiving everyone. This was a bit silly and weird but I disregarded it believing I was getting paid at least $300. Like I said, my trainer had no car, so he kept riding in my car. He also kept avoid giving me money for gas and told me it was my expense. We drove 20 miles one way. Walked for 5 hours in hot sun.
Made no sales. Drove back another 20 miles. All unpaid again. On my third day, I had to follow a different leader. This time it was a woman who had a really creepy laugh. Kind of scary. Cristy was her name, and she is a cheater, liar, and scumbag. We went around and I managed to sign up one person under her name and number because I was in training and I didn't have my own number. This woman never gave me any money even though I signed the guy up. I was mad. Cristy also had
no car. Bunch of them lived together somewhere in Sacramento, CA.
Even the owner guy Eric Dvorak lived with two of his leaders and his assistant manager. They explained their living together as saving money so we can open another office and put one of you guys as a manager. I decided to stick until payday to see how much I would get paid. On every thursday, we were almost required to go to these team nights, and if you didn't, you would be seen as someone who is not taking this job seriously. What they do during these events is that they go to certain places and play some dodgeball, skating, or drink beers in some ghetto bar, but you have to pay for your own beer. I never went to their stupid team nights. I had a life. I managed to sign 5 people up during my one week of solo field
performance. And you were lucky to have 5 sales in a week. Most people had between 1-3 sales a week. 5 sales in a week was the requirement to be promoted to leadership, and I was promoted on my 2 week mark and I was told that I now had to stay even longer because I was a leader. They also required the new guys to go on these field trips. I refused to go to this stupid trip, but I heard from another new guy who went to this trip about how he had to sleep on the floor in a cheap dirty motel in a different city. Payday came and I had made only $300 for 2 weeks of period. I was expecting around $600
like promised. I raided Eric's office to find out where my at least $300 was. He showed me the paperwork that I signed which said in a fine print that I was exempt from hourly minimum wage or overtime because I was considered outside sales person. That's when I quit on the spot. I quit and never looked back. I had wasted 10 business days of my life that I could have been using to look for real job. I had wasted so much gas because leaders were broke and kept riding in my car. I had worked over 60 hours/week for only $150.
Oh yeah, and what about that paid training bonus that they told me about? Ha, the paper work also states that I will not be getting the training bonus unless I stick around for at least a month! Are you kidding me? Most people will quit before that long, and that's why they keep getting away with not paying for training. they will tell you that they offer medical/dental. Haha! Fat chance on that! They will actually encourage you to get onto your parents health care plan if you are under 24 years of age because they have none. They barely pay their rent, office rent, and pay their bills. The owner drives
old beater SUV. Do you really think if the owner was making $120,000 he would be driving a beater car? Today, I have a better job that actually pays for my work and I am much much happier. However, in the eyes of these scumbags, I am a loser who makes steady wages, have company medical benefits, have 401K, have paid holiday and vacation, and have a real life who has some free time to enjoy with his family.
Run like hell from this company.
Now that my story is complete I will post the facts about this company.
Magnetic Consulting Group's ad will post the following:
FULL TIME yes it is full time, but unpaid and you will be working 11 hour shifts for 5 days and plus 6-8 hour shift on Saturday. All commission only! No salaries, no hourly wages. And you only have Sunday to spend some time with your real
friends and family. Oh, and they will also try to steal your only Sundays too by encouraging or sometimes requiring you to go to these occasional meetings, activities, and similar stuff like that.
35K-40K income Complete LIE! It is commission only. Yes, it is possible to make this amount of money if you are really good at it and know how to cheat and lie to your customers, but most people are not. Most people will be making around
$13k yearly if not less. They should be honest about that and post it as commision only.
Travel opportunities Yes technically it is true, but you will just be in a nearby cities knocking doors all day. Don't be thinking that you will be taking a nice vacation there. Motel will be paid, but you will be sharing room with strangers, paying for your own food and gas to get there.
Medical/Dental benefits They have none, if not the worst benefits there is. Why do you think they keep repeating that the new guys should be looking for ways to get on their parents' insurance plans?
Fortune 500 Clients Complete LIE! Magnetic does not work with any other company other than AT&T.
They only work with AT&T, and I have seen it. Cydcor maybe works with fortune 500 Clients but not Magnetic.
We promote from within Yes, true. But the promotions means nothing. You will not be getting paid better. Just more responsibilities, so they can brainwash you more and keep you around for longer.
Fun atmosphere Well, it could be fun to some people, but not to me. They try to brainwash you by feeding you with friendly comments, and bunch of false dreams and promises. They will also require you to play bunch of stupid games to help you keep your mood up because they know that most people will have a bad day.
Management in training more like Cydcor's Management in tranining. That is true. But 97% of the people will not make it to the ownership. Once you reach the top guess what you will be doing? You will be just like Eric. Duping people, working
under supervision of Cydcor, trying to hire some losers to knock on doors, play dress up everyday, act like you make 6 figures of income, and hope everything goes well. Totally not worth your time and risk to invest in this pimp like structured pyramid scheme.
