Do not trust Dell Computer Corp. warranty repair depot to do a good job repairing your pc. I sent my (less than 1 yr. old #1545) laptop in to the depot to repair a touch pad and a display that was going flickering. After speaking with several service techs at Dell on the phone they told me that this was a known issue and it would need a mother-board repair or replacement. They sent me a sturdy shipping box and my laptop was packed (by me) and picked up by FEDEX. This laptop is used by my wife and was in excellent condition when it left here. Two weeks later I got the unit back and although the box was in perfect shape the laptop looked as though it had been crushed or run over by a forklift. The lower left corner was flattened and the hardrive was crushed. The same day another box arrived with a refurbished hardrive which I was told I needed to make the computer start properly. They did not repair the cushed case but installed a new display. We also lost all of our data and many applications that we had on the original hard-drive are not on the replacement. Dell said that they are not responsible for lost data. Numerous calls have been made to express our dis-satisfaction with the repair. Dell was informed that the laptop now has a problem with the keyboard, touch-pad and the case looks warped where it had been crushed. A tech is supposed to call us to schedule an in house repair but so that has not happened in spite of our efforts to find out why and what happened.
