We made teh mistake of ordering a bundled package of phone/internet/and dish network tv through embarq without checking on here to see how terrible Dish Network is!

Once everything was installed, it turned out we were not getting the channels we were promised.  When I called to find out why we were not getting the channels, I found out we were also getting charged more than twice the amount that they had quoted us over the phone. 

When we tried to get the price adjusted to the price that we had agreed to before the installation, we spent hours and hours on the phone (on our cell phones- since embarq somehow seemed unable to get our land line working either), being shuffled from person to person and put on hold for an hour at a time.  We were treated very rudely by the dish network people and even told to f-off by one of their "supervisors" after we told them that it was dishonest to quote us one price and then charge another.

We tried to cancel the service, but they said they would charge $300 to cancel because we had a "contract"- even though when we agreed to this contract, it was for a different price.  If they are changing the price, that should nullify the "contract".

Dish network blames embarq for quoting the wrong price, embarq blames dish network for changing the price- in the end, noone is accountable and we are the ones to suffer.  We are being charged over twice the amount we were quoted, and we are not even getting the channels we had ordered it for.

On top of all of this, the quality of the channels is really terrible.  I have had direct tv in the past, on the exact same television, and the exact same channels were much clearer and better quality.

Just wanted to post an update to let you all know- if you keep calling and talking to different people, it is possible to find someone who will help you.

Dish network replaced our reciever and we now get good picture quality.  In addition we are also now getting the channels we requested.

Embarq has adjusted the price on our bill to be closer to what we were quoted.  It is still higher than we were quoted, but it is at least closer.

Don't bother to call Dish network with price issues if you have a bundled package through embarq, they will not help you and will be rude, but if you get the right person at embarq, they can help you.  Dish network is the one to call if you are having problems getting the right channels or with picture quality.

It took many weeks of calling and many hours on the phone, but we are at least close to what we should be getting now :)
