at its best!

It was explained to both me and my fiance, on two different phone conversations with DMI representative Lee that my move would cost me $1100. Lee explained that she had a list of my items and boxes so the cost would be accurate.

I moved to Georgia a week prior to my items being picked up in Scottsdale, Arizona. My cousin was present. The mover was scheduled to arrive in the morning but actually arrived between 5 and 6pm. He proceeded to build boxes around everything - including my vacuum and my bike, my dining chairs... this was never agreed to or even discussed. At 3:00 am Georgia time I received a call from the DMI driver telling me that the packing cost $700 and the new moving bill was $4200. He told me he needed $1700 right then or he could just unload my truck. He told me to just give him an address and I said the only one I have is in Georgia because my apartment keys had been turned in that night after he left and my cousin was gone. I was beside myself and I told him this news was shocking and that I expected the move to cost $1100. I had already paid a $100 deposit so I had budgeted another $1000 for the move. I told the driver I could not think like this at 3am - and I did not have $1700. I had $500 for him but he would not accept that. We ended the conversation on a terribly frustrating note and I did not know if my things would ever be seen again.

I did not sleep all night and called the DMI office the next day (Easter Sunday) - I spoke with Jonathon. He went back and forth with me on the price like I was buying a used car. This haggling was ridiculous yet I had no choice since they had my things. Jonathon told me he would settle for $2500 and I told him that Lee should be in on our conversation. He told me that no one was above him at the office. I had to agree to the amount and hope to dispute this after my items arrived.

The truck arrived 3 days late. I have so many broken and damaged items that I have filed a claim for that along with photos. I watched with my mouth wide open as someone else's mattress was thrown onto the sidewalk and bent in half so they could reach my things in the semi truck. My boxes arrived smashed and filled with broken (bubble wrapped) plates etc... The entire situation has been a fraudulent and misleading transaction.

I paid for professional movers who promised to carefully move my items. The original driver told me the weight of my load was 6000 lbs yet the semi driver told me it was under 2000 lbs. I moved twice as much weight with Mayflower in 2010 for $2300. The number of boxes I had doubled because the driver boxed things as I mentioned like a vacuum and a dining chair that was mentioned on my large item list. I have this list that was provided to me from DMI with the $1000 price on it!

So far I have paid $2600 for a move that was supposed to have cost $1100 and half of my things are broken.

Faulty Claims!!

AUTHOR: hginop - (United States of America)

There's a good chance you will never get that check they've promised you! for 3 months they have promised us an insurance claim to be filed and upon asking the claim number, when it was filed, and who it was filed through, we found the claim was in fact never in fact filed and the 'supervisor' or whoever he is to that company lied to us for months, giving us the run around. Do not believe anything this man says, he is far from professional even threatening my 19 year old if she didn't remove the negative internet reviews he wouldn't help us. They file their claims through Anthem Moving Claims so if it's been less than 6 months it's not too late. Good luck!

Bad Experience Also

AUTHOR: Sugarbarez - (United States of America)

I have had almost the exact same thing happen! Charged me alot more then my quote and they told me it was due to excessive weight..well they told me this befor they even weighed the truck. Finally got them to come down 400.00 on the price, had three promised delivery dates and were all rescheduled.  When I did get my items there was a gash out of our big desk. The nice wood file cabinet we had obviously was dropped or thrown, its in pieces. They also completely lost a comforter that had been in our family. I  have tried emailing pictures, have been asked to resend them three times.  The last email I received told me to go buy a bedspread!! The movers told me to write "chipped" on the invoice for my furniture. There are so many other things but  I cant list them all. It was a total nightmare and now a piece of our family history is GONE! I have filed with the BBB and have consulted an attorney. I am so mad! They also left my parents house a mess with trash all over. I tried to remain calm because I wanted our furniture since some of it had been in our family for years but now I am just mad.  Its not right!

Yeah right??!!

Funny same thing happened to me using your company Jonathan & I was there locally. You settled with me as well but 3 months later I have yet to receive my settlement check. And now your dodging my calls because you are trying not to pay the settlement you agreed to and that's in writing. My check has "been in the mail" 3 times & "over nighted to my house 5 times" according to you Jonathan: biggest scam artist liar I have ever encountered

Amy Motto Refund

AUTHOR: Jonathan - (United States of America)

We are terribly sorry about Ms. Motto's experience while moving to GA. The reason why there were so many issues is that Ms. Motto arranged for everything remotely, she had someone representing her, but that individual did instuct the movers to do a full packing/moving service without Ms. Motto's approval. We have been working closely with Ms. Motto on resolving this claim, and we in fact already mailed her a reimbursement check of $1000.00 towards the cost of her move. We are confident that we have adressed all her issues and have brought her back to a satisfied customer. We are in business to service people and we do understand that we may have to go an extra mile sometimes to satisfy a client's request.

Jonathan,
