I purchased a DVD from DaKiwi Productions (on Amazon Marketplace) as a gift for my husband and six-year-old son, As soon as it arrived I realized I had ordered the wrong version. I did not open the DVD, but contacted the seller to request a refund. I sent it back, unopened, factory sealed, in a bubble wrap envelope.

To my dismay, I received an email from DaKiwi Productions stating that I would only receive a fraction of the purchase price because they claimed that the DVD arrived with the plastic wrap off, insert missing, and case destroyed. They even claimed the return authorization that I had included was ripped. (Why would I destroy a return authorization that I printed off my computer?) They sent photos of what I agree was my mailing envelope, but definitely not the DVD I returned to them. The damage was too extensive, and frankly overdone, to having to have occurred in transit, plus the envelope was intact. All I can assume is that the photo is of my envelope with another DVD, or that the damage occurred on their end and they are trying to recoup their loss by defrauding me.

I am an honest person and also too intelligent to think that I would receive a full refund if I had actually returned a product in that poor of condition. I could tell immediately that I had ordered the wrong version by the outer packaging, I had no reason to risk my refund by opening a DVD that I knew I needed to return.

What is worse is that this particular DVD was $50.00 because it was a special edition of Star Wars. Although the price sticker on the outside of the package said $9.99 Costco, I do believe that it has probably increased in price since they acquired it. Still, it hurts to lose that much money on a gift which I cannot afford to replace and be called a liar on top of everything. I only ordered such a pricey DVD from them in the first place because they are an Amazon Marketplace seller and I have only had good experiences with Amazon and its sellers in the past.

If you value your money and expect to be treated with respect and consideration, please do not purchase anything from DaKiwi Productions on Amazon Marketplace.
