Dan MCallaster San Diego Property Tax Collector San Diego Property Tax collector ripoff San Diego, California

On December 9, 2009 I paid my property taxes to San Diego County and Riverside County tax collector thru online banking. It was due December 10.

I received the check back from SD treasurer (Dan Mcallisters office) saying they could not accept it since it was late and there was an additional 10% penalty due. They sent the entire amount back.

I contacted them to explain that it was sent prior to the deadline on the 9th which I had a bank confirmation to prove.

They said that it had to be post marked prior to the 10th of December or it was late.

I did not know this at the time but when you send something thru online banking there is no post mark.

So, even though it was sent on time in good faith it was rejected and subject to a penalty from the San Diego Tax Collector. (Dan Mcallister)

The Riverside County tax authority also received the payment late and asked for a penalty. I explained what happened and they waved the penalty.

If there is anyone out there please run for county treasurer. Dan Mcallaster office is beyond incompetent and needs to be replaced.
