Dating Playground Upper Mount Charged my bank account with a fraudulant charge! Rip-off! Australia

I was charged $50.47 on May 7, 2004 for allegedly signing up for their "service." The only problem is that I have never visited datingplayground.com nor have I ever heard of it. I contacted my bank the day after the charge appeared on my account and was told they would take care of it. After they processed my dispute the credited my bank account. End of story, not quite.

Yesterday I noticed they had went back and denied my claim. Why you ask? Well it appears that datingplayground.com had the balls to challenge my claim and since they did my bank automatically denied my claim.

I visited a branch to inquire why this was done and it appears that not only did datingplayground.com have my bank account number but also my phone number, e-mail address, and phone number which according to the bank was sufficient information for them to challenge my claim. After reviewing the rebuttal I noticed that they had simply inserted a random yahoo e-mail address and random phone number.

One would think the bank would have noticed that the phone number did not even have a local area code but they didn't. I now have another claim against datingplayground.com unfortunately since they decided to challenge my first claim it seems my bank is willing to believe them over a 20 year customer. I guess the only action I have left is to eat the $50.47 and change banks. I can only hope that everyone reading this has better luck then I have.

Also, in response to a previous entry I too have a paypal.com account which includes my banking account number for purposes of transferring funds.
