I was incredibly happy when finally purchasing my Jeep Liberty from David McDavid Honda of Irving. Even with the road bumps endured to get me in the car, Peter taking over the sale made the journey worth it. After 7 months of loving my Jeep, I had my first flat tire. Roadside assistance arrived and lowered my spare to find a flat, bald spare with a large screw in it. I was completely disgusted. They sold a vehicle knowing that it did not include a HUGE safety feature that you expect to be included with your vehicle. I immediately contacted the dealership only to be treated like a liar that ran ONE tire bald in 7 months and flattened it. They would do NOTHING to fix this hugely dangerous error on their part, and I am beyond furious. I would never recommend a dealership that would actually sell a vehicle that has an inoperable spare tire. Very dishonest selling tactic, and something I really did not expect. Stay away if you expect a good experience and a safe vehicle. This was the nail in the coffin for me as far as this dealership is concerned, and I will shout it from the rooftops.

You were careless by driving a vehicle for seven months without looking at or checking the pressure in the spare tire.

Personally, I think it is the dealership's responsiblity to check over the vehicles they are selling BEFORE they put them on the lot to sell. I'm not saying that they have to fix everything that is cosmetically wrong with a vehicle, but a good spare tire IS an essential part. It should be part of the check list that they use, along with checking the fluids, brakes and the other tires. This just makes good business sense to me...but then I'm not in the auto sales business.

How do you know they knew about it. Maybe they didn't even look at the spare. After all, you didn't.
Did you buy it 'as-is'?
