I was reading a news article on Yahoo and noticed a disguised ad for a way to get white teeth.  The ad had the appearance of a consumer digest article and featured a testimonial from "emily" who had found a "great" offer for a free trial of two different tooth whitening products that "worked great together".  As a bonus, she offered discount codes for cheap shipping.  After signing up for the first offer, I noticed the terms and conditions.  This was only by luck because the website is full of "free trial" statements, however it does not detail the subscription fees until you get to the payment page.  At this point, your eye is drawn away from the terms and conditions box (and conveniently, the website does not require a terms and conditions acknowledgement before placing the order). 


Here are the offer details:


Offer Details: When you place your order today with DazzleSmile, you will automatically become a part of our elite customer club. Your active credit card will only be billed $4.95 for the shipping of your 14-day day trial. While you continue to whiten your with DazzleSmile, your active credit card will be billed the low member price of only 79.95 per month for every month. (Shipped as a fresh, 3 month supply every 90 days.) And remember, theres never any obligation you can cancel your membership at any time by calling 888-948-5508. Additionally, for your fourteen-day and twenty-eight day trials to World Club Fitness and Weight Loss Resources you will be charged $6.95 and $8.95 a month thereafter (shows as "VH ACCESS" and "HEALTHMEMBER") should you choose not to cancel. Charges for bonuses are non-refundable, but subscription can be cancelled and future charges stopped at any time. So, long story short, after a livechat on their website, I was able to get the dazzlesmile cancelled before being charged anything, however I will have to call the other two companie in the morning and see how that goes...

I'm instructing my credit card company not to accept any charges from your company and if I receive this item in the mail, I will be forwarding the text of this chat to the BBB and the Oklahoma Attorney General

P.S.....for any defenders of this company, if your terms and conditions were so obvious, why do you feel it necessary to have a link on your website explaining how you comply with government standards in advertising?  If the terms and conditions were so obvious, it wouldn't be necessary to have this.

Enough with the canned responses, fake names, and BS concerns. No, you're not getting in the last word here; neither are you going to manipulate Google's search engines with your scam and fake responses. DazzleSmile, you have been exposed for the scam that you are.

The article reports that companies like DazzleSmile and Beverly Hills Smile are part of a growing internet scam called the fakeosphere. As Sullivan points out, it's the latest internet scam posing as legitimate news and opinion on products when in fact it's all company generated, designed to deceive consumers. The FTC is currently investigating.

As an employee of Weight Loss Resources, I can state categorically that www.weightlossresources.co.uk is in no way, shape or form affiliated with the company mentioned on this page. We have become aware that they have been using our name in their terms and conditions and suggesting that a free trial with us is available when signing up with them, but this has been done without our permission. i want to thank you for posting this. I also find out about this on yahoo.com. i applied for the trial and everything and did not think anything of it.

Later in the day i wanted to go back to dazzle white web site(I can't remember why now). Not knowing the site's name i entered dazzle smile into a search engine and EUREKA! Your ripoff report topped the search list. After reading your report i immediately went to there website and engaged in a chat session like you did here it is:

If you didn't notice i copied and pasted some of your exact responses and used them in my conversation lol. Unfortunately the other free trials websites did not have a chat/help thing they only provided phone numbers that no one answered. I had to call my credit card company to get the charges stopped had to wait for a new credit card to come in the mail. other than the inconvenience of having to change my account info for all my info on amazon, xboxlive, etc cause of the new card everything is okay now. thx for the heads up.
