Sour Grapes, I Think

AUTHOR: MaiMai - (United States of America)

It appears from your comment that you were unwilling or unable to follow their guidelines. Why not grow up and take responsibility for your own screw-up instead of blaming it on others?

I would have been curt with you too.  What gives you the right to be a boor while sitting on someone else's sofa?

The site is horrible

AUTHOR: Brb28054 - (U.S.A.)

Ive recently signed on to the site to share my recent experience going through a couple of FDCPA claims as well as TCPA claims. I am represented by an attorney and had a couple general questions i posted on the site..WHOA big mistake. I thought the posts/blogs etc were for "debtors", however, it seems the site is filled with a great many "pro-collect agencies"... As well, I feel a great many of the members try and give legal advice that simply is not correct.

As well, I thought blogs/message boards such as this are sites where you can type messages without being critiqued on your grammar, proper paragraphing, proper spelling etc etc.

For some odd reason, every since I have posted my own messages in response to someone that has been on the site for obviously  a long time ( in reference to there status and amount of posts they have submitted), It seems as though if my own opinion or factual experience is not what the other members like, I'll receive some off the wall email such as this :

This the formatting of this post of yours is unacceptable. It has been removed.

Debtorboards expects its members to conform to the rules of reasonable writing which include proper capitalization, punctuation, and paragraphing.

Text-messaging/cell-phone styles are not considered reasonable writing styles.

-----------------------------------------------------

First - In reading the monitors first sentence, in stating : "This the formatting of this post of yours is unacceptable", it seems he/she should take their own advice in proper formatting and grammar.

I have received a few other emails stating similar things about my "sentence structure"..I thought message boards where outlets to speek to others about things, i didnt know they were official college courses you are getting graded on.

In response to there statement " Text-messaging/cell-phone styles are not considered reasonable writing styles." - To that, i have no clue what they are speaking of. Text-messaging/cell-phone styles??

Once again, I only get these emails and deletion of my post's when it seems the information I have provided is obviously contradictory in nature to the opposing person's comment. I feel if a site is not up to handling other peoples comments they maybe more accurate, then perhaps they should not be live.

There are other similar blog/message boards I have posted on that are true and to the standard of what message boards are about, this site certainly doesnt seem to be an equal site!

Disgruntled Collection Agent

AUTHOR: Twinkie - (USA)

While researching Debtorboards, I discovered their account has been suspended due to malicious attacks of the website. The above comment is the only dissenting comment I have viewed in regard to Debtorboards. The nature of Debtorboards is such that the debt collection industry has become intimidated to the point of spamming their website, keeping it so busy, the average lay person is unable to access the information. It has been suggested that this particular report, authored by Fred in Alabama, is that of a disgruntled collector who has been denied monies from people/persons utilizing the information available on the website to their advantage. I surmise it is a colossal case of sour grapes on his part.

My response

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

The Sworn Denial strategy has its place, but it is a State-specific strategy. DB, while trying to stay in the Federal arena because it applies to all consumers, has State specifis boards where this strategy can be discussed.

I have found in ststes where the Sworn Denial is not used, a simple denial in the Answer will suffice, and a well-worded Discovery will usually show that the 'affidavit" swears to things the affiant could not have any first-hand knowledge and is merely swearing under oath to have hear-say evidence to present to the Court.

The funny thing about an Affidavit is that it still needs a human being to answer the questions of a cropss-examiniation.

Debtorboards.com provides valuable information

AUTHOR: Fdcpaviolationswinner - (U.S.A.)

I personally have won two lawsuits as a pro se defendant with both cases being dismissed and have won out of court settlements in shaking down compliance directors of 3rd party agencies who violate FDCPA (mostly voicemail recordings).

With that being said, I recently stumbled upon this consumer advocate site and was impressed with what I saw. I am not a member but the information provided by Mr Katz and other members provides a valuable service to debtors facing any type of collection activity. The information provided is very detailed and in my opinion is as accurate as some consumer defense attorney would tell you at the expense of $300/hour. The consumer still has to drink the water. However, Mr Katz does a great job leading the horses (consumers) to the water.

The only issue (not a criticism) I have in the Discovery/civil procedure section is there's no mention of filing a sworn denial letter. In my opinion, this really puts the plaintiff on the spot by negating their sworn affidavit and forcing a live witness on behalf of the creditor/plaintiff. Sworn Denial letter has to be typed, notorized and filed with the courthouse clerk after one is summoned and sent to the plaintiff/attorney certified mail return receipt requested.

It's a graduated denial that states

"I deny this is my debt and if it is my debt, I deny that it is still a valid debt and if it is a valid debt, I deny the amount of the creditor's claim is the correct amount."

So if and when Mr Katz reads this I just pose the question on whether you recommend debtors to use the sworn denial letter in answering a summons. Done it twice myself and got both cases dismissed after this in addition to my discovery demands. I recommend it personally and would appreciate your opinion.

What is your point Steve of Bradenton?

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

I am the owner of Debtorboards and I would like to address some of Steve's points.

1. I registered the Debtorboards domain name through GoDaddy. So what? Is there a list of acceptable versus unacceptable places to register a domain name? Where you buy a domain name has no more nearing on the content of the site, the quality of what is on the site or the honesty of the site's owners than where you buy your food reflects on the honesty of the farmer.

2. The "disposable" email address you refer to is my personal email address, which I have had for many years.

3. Debtorboards is not a business, it is not a money making venture and it is not a commercial enterprise. Never was, never will be.

If what you posted about Debtorboards is all you find fault with (that we insist people be aware of our Terms of Service and the policy about cookies - which MANY sites have) then I take it you have little to complain about.

As they say in Yiddish - "Auf zie shayne ist zie gezunt" - translates to "And the Bride is too pretty" - meaning "what are you complaining about?"

Your complaints are not legitimate

AUTHOR: Levro - (U.S.A.)

The response title says it all, meaning I think there's something better Steve from Bradenton FL can do with his life. Perhaps the disposable email addresses are used because there are nuts like you running around the internet harrassing others. Disposable email addresses are common, and used all the time. Moving on to your next complaint involving cookies, it's absurd. I don't know if your angry because you don't know how to do it on your own board, or if you have ran out of medication and your just bitter, or if your simply crazy! If you are afraid of the big bad chocolate chip I expect to see you filing a report on ROR about other sites such as Ebay who at login sets 30 cookies, the most of any site on the web. A simple search sets 13 more eBay cookies plus 2 dreaded Doubleclicks. Make it a search for completed auctions and eBay sets 23 more cookies, and 2 more Doubleclicks. Cookies are common on the internet, and if your that afraid of them I suggest throwing your computer out the window and continue living in your bubble

What I think is most ironic about this is if this site is so bad in your opinion then why are you still trying to access it? I am assuming such as you are posting things from their site on here so you've had to get them from somewhere.

One last thing, Go Daddy is the largest ICANN-accredited registrar in the world, whereas the other board discussed is registered to a Fernando Oto and it's registered through Dotster who has previously been named in federal lawsuits for cybersquatting. Which is also mentioned above

I do have a question because I have looked at both boards and I noticed that in several places Infinitcredit boasts of attorneys on the board. Are those attorneys willing to verify they are attorneys or will they just continue with a internet dream life of being one?

DB's connection

AUTHOR: Mifren - (U.S.A.)

I can state unequivocally that Desiree is wholly unknowledgable with regards to DB's connection. As the person that pays the bills, I would know better than anyone. It has always been under a business internet connection and will stay that way whether or not I continue to host it.

I can only guess that Desiree noticed the change in information that occurred approximately 5 months ago. Adelphia was purchased by Comcast and Comcast couldn't keep the Adelphia netblock so they had to transition users. This happened many months ago and was unrelated to the recent issues. The connection was business class with Adelphia. The connection has always been business class with Comcast.

The truth has been given to the admins and they have posted as much of the truth as they see fit to post. Personally, I doubt that you'd understand what you were seeing even if I did post up the proof of the attack.

The Won't Put Up and Won't Shut Up

AUTHOR: Rutherford - (U.S.A.)

Debtorboards.com is back and a bunch of yahoos don't like it.

I've taken the time to do some research, I'd advise others to do the same. Debtorboards.net is owned and operated by Fenando Oto who is also the owner of a number of other web sites, including one in "competition" with Debtorboards.com. His major contribution to the world is is infamous "Hall of Flame" where he permitted his hatchet people to cyber-bully virtually everyone. (Ask him where its is these days.)

Fenando Oto also has cybersquatted on a number of other competing sites. His redirection of debtorboards.net clearly shows where his mind is: firmly in the gutter.

From what I can gather, no one has taken Steve (the owner of Debtorboards.com) up on his challenge to put up or shut up. That speaks volumes about their claims.

One other thing. Ted is not from Bearcreek. We're a VERY small town in a VERY large state. I suspect he is a wannabe with an axe to grind. His style and tenor are quite distinguishable. Anyone who has been around knows his style, no matter what false nick he uses,He really does need to go back on his meds.

Debtorboards is once again up and running.

AUTHOR: Desiree - (U.S.A.)

Debtorboards is reporting that they were down because of an attack or some such other nonsense about hackers. The truth is that their server was on a residential Comcast account which violated the terms of service for such an account and they were forced to take it down. They are now back up on a Comcast business account all nice and legal. It's amazing to me that a forum concerning itself with helping people enforce their rights would lie to its members about something as simple as changing an account from residential to business.

The FORCE you to "accept cookies" just to access the site. Thats a deal breaker for me. I never allow cookies from any unconfirmed purpose, or unknown entity like DB.

Therefore, I stand by my assertion that DB is a joke, and a scam.

The .net version is MUCH more useful than the .com version of debtorboards.

CyberSquatting

AUTHOR: ALPEX - (U.S.A.)

Steve from Bradenton Florida,

Since you seem to know so much about the Debtorboards domains then surely you realize that the .net and .com you are referring to are owned by none other than a Fernando Oto. Who also happens to own Infinite Credit. Debtorboards is registered to another person who has nothing to do with the above mentioned sites.

This truly does shed new light on the situation and I hope the owner of Debtorboards actively persues this "Fernando Oto" with domain name intellectual property law. AKA Cybersquatting.

P/T Member of Debtorboards for a couple of years and nothing you have said is true

AUTHOR: Rogerisright - (U.S.A.)

I have been an infrequent member of the Debtor Boards community for a couple of years and was surprised to bump into anything like this rip off report on a board I am a member of and of all of the boards I do belong too I would have picked this one last for any type of the behavior described above by an apparently disgruntled ex member.

It's amazing how people's lives can get so intertwined with their online exchanges that they seem to fall off the deep end like this poster.

I have given my opinion on Debtorboards ...I have asked for other people's opinions on DB's and I have posted articles and case law that I have found to be helpful for me so that others can hopefully use it as well. The reason I joined was to access the incredible "flyingifr suing your way to good credit" program which is not legal advice but more a sort of case study showing how one person was able to take on the 'credit and debt' system and win. I have used this method personally and can tell you without question that it works. The main premise is that these rogue credit bureaus and collection agencies will respond faster and more diligently when they are served with a summons than when they are written a nice letter asking them to correct your credit file.

I have only the utmost respect for both the information contained on this board as well as the opinions and experiences that have been given to me by flyingifr and rottweiler and smurfy and anyone of 100 other people who contribute to this board on a regular basis. I can tell you without any doubt at all that there are alot of active membersof this board and the number of 1000 sounds pretty close to right if not 100% accurate ...the only difference being that these members are all fairly active and there is no fluff at all. The person who wrote this rip off report never did say what his real beef with this board was except to sound more like a tattle tale telling the teacher that in his opinion he thought they were practicing law ...it is very clear anywhere you go on the board that law is not being practiced. The owners of the board have way more personal integrity than 95% of the lawyers I have ever met anyway ...not only that the crime of UPL is a bogus law that I personally have no respect for at all and if my own experiences suing my self back to good credit is any indication of what it's really like in our courts and if the level of professionalism and legal knowledge I have had to deal with in an adversarial position myself is how all attorney's or most attorney's are then our system is broken beyond words and thus far I have had no problem at all wading through these over priced ego's and have only lost once and have humiliated and humbled alot of attorneys along the way ...save your money ...DB is a class act ...and the information is very very good and accurate and if you want to self help your credit score up and up big in some cases I would suggest you try it for yourself

Another example of db tactics...

AUTHOR: Ted - (U.S.A.)

Hunter,

You should visit debtorboards. You would fit in perfectly. Attacking people, misinterpretation, and lack of comprehension are rampant there, as in your post.

I'm not arguing with anyone, especially myself. I was simply responding to posts in this thread, warning consumers of the type of abuse they will receive at db, just like what was posted by you in this thread. Someone made an account with the same name and city knowing it would appear as if I posted.

The editor of the site has not responded to a request to remove it.

I do not make a habit of posting comments to myself. You would want to visit debtortalk dot net for a perfect example of that. The posts by you and mifren appear to be more angry than anything I could ever come up with. Why would you be so angry if you just stumble don this thread looking for advice? You take things too personally, unless you are really a mod on that site, and you are resorting to the typical tactics they display.

The evidence I have is real enough to stand up in court. I never claimed to be able to manipulate any type of evidence or emails. I wouldn't know where to start. Some at db have admitted to such things, and that is in the evidence also. I have no anger, and I am not militant. I am simply trying to help consumers with facts.

I would like you to point out what threats I made, or how I stalked anyone. You may want to look up the defintions of those words. There are no threats in my posts, but I have some emails from people at db that threatened others. If a stranger knocks on my door, and I answer, that is not stalking or threatening the stranger. All I have done is answer some posts here. No threats. No stalking. If you feel you or others have a case, call the authorities. I will be glad to turn over my evidence to them.

If you just stumbled on this thread, how could you possibly know what I may or may not have done at db? I never calimed to pay them, so I am not sure why you and mifren would bring that up. I never claimed to help the site in this thread, but since you mention it, there are many posts by me on that site that helped people. They thanked me often, and many of them were the moderators there. I have evidence of that also. But apparently proof and facts are not allowed on db, or in this thread. You don't have to believe anything I say, but I do have proof.

Again, a warning to consumers that these are the kind of tactics you will find at db. The people that responded to me are typical of what you will find there. Don't even go there to view the train wreck. It is not worth it.

Ted aka. Nutcase

AUTHOR: Hunter - (U.S.A.)

I'm confused. Are you arguing with yourself? Are you on medication? Did you forget to take it?

You're becoming a cartoon character. So, "What's up, Doc?"

I'm not sure you're the kind of person I'd consider credible no matter what evidence you think you have. How real is it? How do we know that you, or your co-stalkers, didn't manufactured it? From what you say, your skillz imply that you could alter or fake evidence at will. Your anger shows that you have the will.

You seem to be very militant in your beliefs, and that's fine; but your posts are turning into threats. Seems as if your anger is the only important thing in your life. But that's the bully's way of doing things.

I came here looking for resources on bill collectors so that I can fix my credit. I was hoping to find other people that have dealt with these thieves from Palisade and instead I find some nutcase railing at the world about some site that he never paid, never took advice from, and whom he claims he helped in the past.

I'm sorry but your attempts in this thread are both dim and feeble. You're obviously some kind of cyber stalker that has an ax to grind. Fortunately, I wouldn't expect more from a person that argues with himself.

You know, at some point, this site might want to wise up and kick you out if they want to continue to be relevant.

So, get a life.

Good luck with it when you get one.

So that there is no confusion...

AUTHOR: Ted - (U.S.A.)

The fake post was the one titled "An apology to debtorboards", just in case it is later removed.

Any post by Ted in Bear Creek that in any way supports the activities of db should be ignored as a fake, and a silly attempt to discredit the truth. Ted will never apologize for posting the truth and protecting consumers.

The last post was fake....

AUTHOR: Ted - (U.S.A.)

and typical of the type of stunts by people at DB. Yet another reason that consumers should avoid the site. One person there has claimed many times he could hack user accounts and make it appear the other person said something stupid. I asked the editor of this site to check which account it came from, and remove or acknowledge it was from a different user. That has not happened, so I reply again.

I will be putting together a mountain of evidence to prove what I have posted. It will be coming to a website near you soon. The evidence will show the willful, premeditated foolishness by members of db, and will leave no doubt that consumers should never go there.

I never stated that I paid money to db. I'm not sure why that would even be mentioned in the fake post, unless they do take money from unsuspecting members for their bogus advice. I will prove beyond any doubt that the site did benefit from my posts, that I defended the site before I knew better, and the owner, admins, and mods thanked me on a regular basis.

Until then, have a nice day, and stay away from the ripoff called debtorboards. There are no apologies for the truth.

An apology to Debtorboards

AUTHOR: Ted - (U.S.A.)

I'd like to apologize for my earlier posts involving debtorboards.com. Although I have personal reasons to dislike debtorboards, I have never paid them any money, nor have they ever benefitted by my usage of their site. Given that is the case, it's impossible for Debtorboards.com to be a ripoff.

I regret my earlier actions and wish I had not posted my previous messages.

Conumer Warning

AUTHOR: Ted - (U.S.A.)

Again, this a warning to all consumers. The above rantings, if you can understand them, are exactly why that site should be avoided.

What part of "I have proof" did you not understand.

Fact: The persons involved have admitted to the UPL and data scandals on public message boards, through personal messages, and emails. I have in my possession some of those emails. That would be proof. Where did I admit to lacking true facts? By the way, that would be redundant. I have facts, which by definition are true.

There are only 2 possibilities. One is that it happened, and all consumers should avoid the site. The second is that they came up with an absurd plot to put out these lies to trick people into believing they did, but they really did not. In which case they are lying, and consumers should avoid the site. Why would anyone go to such lengths on a consumer credit site? You helped me prove that the site is not credible. Thank you.

Another question. How could you possibly know what type of attack occured at IC? Unless you were involved, or know the person involved? I hope someone was not silly enough to commit a felony, and jeopardize their gov't job over something like this. Maybe it did happen, and maybe it could or should have been prevented. At least the admins at IC are not purposely going through and releasing private information as admitted to on DB. As for anything personal of mine, I am not worried. I can back up everything I ever posted, and I am certainly not worried about physical threats. Because guess what? I have proof.

The only thing I could have possibly been wrong about is the identity of the above poster. But, then again, that is not the issue here. I don't care if it is Steve, Kevin, Pam, a fool on a mission, an antique dealer, or an old drunk groupie. The point is that there are some serious problems at that site and people should avoid it completely. This is not a personal attack, and there has not been any arguing on my part. This is simply a warning to consumers about what really happens on that site. You make a silly comment about IC, then claim the people at DB are above that. Thanks for proving me right once again.

Have a nice day.

Ted - you admitted to lacking true facts (and still using red herrings)

AUTHOR: Mifren - (U.S.A.)

Ted,

From what I read above, you are admitting to using an uncredible source of information and arguing on RR while using it as an authoritative source. How much of an idiot do you have to be do that?

As for the rest of it, you're so far off the mark that you may as well be shooting in the opposite direction. You're so wrong that when I'm not posting here, I'M LAUGHING AT YOU.

Let me reiterate what I said previously...
The truth about the majority of those posting here which are negative regarding Debtorboards is as follows:
1. They frequent a site in competition with Debtorboards.
2. They were banned from Debtorboards.
3. They believed they could damage Debtorboards in some way by posting here.
4. By posting on ripoffreport.com, they have caused the traffic and membership to drastically increase.
5. They were angry about that and therefore decided to attack individual users [and former admins] instead.

You can argue all you want but you're still wrong about virtually everything you said in your post. I'd tell you how and why but it's just not my perogative at this time.

That being said, since you wanted to talk about data not being safe...let's talk about how infinitecredit.com recently got hacked by a script kiddie. If your admin isn't good enough to keep relatively inexperienced "hackers" from doing SQL injection attacks even though the vulnerability was published WEEKS before and an update existed, how could you possibly think your data is safe there? I'd guess that by now everything private you ever posted on there is circulating amongst people that have a strong reason to dislike you. If anyone that hated IC came to mind offhand, I'd probably ask them for it. ;-)

At least the staff at DB is professional enough to not damage IC by posting an RR topic in return. Oops... look at that... they're bigger than you!

I have proof

AUTHOR: Ted - (U.S.A.)

Dear Mifren (aka Rottweiler),

Nothing I posted was a lie. I have proof that it was not a lie. I have proof from the person involved in trying to get the lawyer disbarred, and from an email from a "former" admin of debtorboards who stated the same thing. If it is a lie, then it was a lie from the person on debtorboards that caused all the trouble. I am only relaying information that came directly from the source. If what I posted was false, it only proves that the people on debtorboards lied along with giving out bad advice to consumers.

This is another example of the bad advice you will get on that site. They should know that this could not possibly be defamation if it is true. Consumers should avoid the site for any and all legal advice. Especially since the person involved had a case dismissed for not returning phone calls to the collector they were suing. Why would anyone go to the trouble of suing a collection agency, then fail to return phone calls and let the case get dismissed? And they expect consumers to take advice from people like that? That is the "star" of the site?

Then there is that "former" admin who posted the entire database of the site in question on several of his own personal websites. He then used that database for personal reasons and to gather personal information about certain members. He has admitted to that in public, so don't bother denying that either. Consumers should be aware that their personal information is not safe on debtorboards. He changed his screen name and still posts on the site.

I can prove everything I have stated. The information came from the very people on debtorbaords in question here. What you cannot prove is what sites I visit, and what sites I was banned from. This is not personal, but a warning to all consumers that their personal information is not safe and the poor legal advice they will get at debtorboards. It has nothing to do with the stats at infinitecredit, and there is no competition. That site deals in facts and good advice. They do not compete with sites like debtorboards that do not. Remember the collection agents are not laughing with you, they are laughing at you.

Consumers should avoid the ripoff at debtorboards.

The truth about Ted and his red herrings.

AUTHOR: Mifren - (U.S.A.)

Ted,

First off, you're lying about that person trying to get an alleged attorney disbarred for UPL. Shame on you for spreading defamatory information on RipoffReport. I'm shocked, SHOCKED, that anyone here would post up lies and misinformation.

Now that we have that over, is it just me or are others here as tired of red herrings being used to drag the focus away from the original intent?

The truth about the majority of those posting here which are negative regarding Debtorboards is as follows:
1. They frequent a site in competition with Debtorboards.
2. They were banned from Debtorboards.
3. They believed they could damage Debtorboards in some way by posting here.
4. By posting on ripoffreport.com, they have caused the traffic and membership to drastically increase.
5. They were angry about that and therefore decided to attack individual users instead.

So by all means, keep whining about Debtorboards but leave individual users out of this.

And now.. I'll go back to the shadows.. watching and laughing as these two sites continue fighting it out while the collection agents at ARMPIT laugh it up.

DB hurts consumers with bad advice

AUTHOR: Ted - (U.S.A.)

Just because a message board is consumer friendly does not mean that it does not give bad advice at the expense of unsuspecting consumers. That is exactly what is happening at this website. Anyone that contradicts that advice is ridiculed or banned. The civil problems were with one particular member, not the ones that were banned. In fact that one member was banned from almost all similar sites, but has been taken in by this site for some odd reason.

This person has stated such things as:

"The US constitution does not give individuals the right to own private property"

"Anyone who files bankruptcy should be forced to sell their homes to pay any outstanding debt"

"You do not owe a debt collector any amount over what they paid, if they paid less than face value for the debt"

This is the type of advice you get from a person who rides a bike to work, because they were by their own admission unable to pay their debts and purchase a car or home, and fell into debt problems over and over again.

This person also tried to have one of the lawyers on the site disbarred for UPL. Funny they claim no UPL exists, but they try to have someone disbarred for it. By the way, money does not have to be exchanged for UPL to exist. Check your state laws.

They may show 1000 users, but that is not anywhere close to reality. Given the fact they banned users, blocked all foreign ip addresses, and banned complete netblocks, they obviously do not want a diverse discusion. It would be better if they stop all memberships and truly made the site a read only resource if that is what they want, because there is no discussion going on there.

Consumers beware. Debtorboards.com is a true ripoff.

#41 REBUTTAL Owner of company

How many ways can you shovel horse manure?

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)

The two posters on this thread seem to make a career out of being just plain wrong.

First of all, Debtorboards is NOT "practicing law without a license". Other than two practicing, licensed attorneys, no one DB purports to be a lawyer.

For someone to be practicing law without a license, the following events must take place:

1. The person must appear on the record of a Court or in some Judicial proceeding, or be rendering legal advice,

2. For pay

Discussing laws is no more giving legal advice than is saying "There is a red light up there - you should stop at it".

Besides, DB is totally free. There IS no way to pay for any use of DB.

As far as the number of posts on DB is concerned, the site was designed to be a research resource, not a board where half the posts are

"ROFL"
":)"
"GRRRRRR"
"OMG!!!!!"

and other nonsense that adds to a post count but adds nothing to a thread, board or conversation. It's the value of the content of the Board that determines its worth, not the drivel in the threads that is so thick it hides the real wisdom.

There are a dozen or so people who have it in for DB because they feel one poster has recieved some sort of preferential treatment. They would banish thsi poster from all Boards, such is their dislike of her. Whether she has recieved any preferential treatment is true or not is, IMHO, irrelevant. The facts are that these people were banished from DB not because they disagreed with anyone, but for the repeated and egregious violations of the Civility portion of the DB Terms of Service. Some of them were Mods on Art of Credit. When that board was around I was told (by them) that if I didn't like the way that board was run, go create my own. I did - Debtorboards - and now they feel they have the right to dictate how DB is run. The facts are that no more than ten people out of over 1,000 have been banished and all of them deserved it. No one at DB is banished unless ALL the Admins and Mods agree it is necessary.

DB is a free board that offers to the general public a fine research tool in the problems with Credit and Collections. It is not the only Board, and no one Board is blessed with all-knowledge and all-truth. It is DB's philosophy that with a robust discussion, the truth will eventually become obvious,. and therefore even erroneous statements are allowed - to show that they are erroneous and why. We learn from mistakes as well as successes.

Sounds like a personal vendetta to me

AUTHOR: Smellin - (U.S.A.)

Fred, I took a look at the link that you left and although I am not an expert in the field of diagnosing websites it looks to be a genuine consumer oriented site. You stated that they have a "few" members.

There member roles indicate that they have over 1,000 members (that's not a few). You also complained that the Moderators and Administrators are identified by numbers. Well, "Fred" in the world we live in today anonymity on the Internet is quite normal, after all what evidence do we have that you (Fred) are not Fredirica, Fernando, Bernadetta, Elizabeth, Harrietta, Jodi, Kimberly, Kenneth or Laticia.

Web communities in general are made of anonymous Id's, when you see a poster by the name of Mickey Mouse do you truly believe that you are chatting with Mickey?

It sounds to me as if you have personal issues with this site and no true complaint. I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one on the Internet but if you are taking things that happen on an Internet message board personally it sounds to me as if prozac might be a better place to post
