Complaint Review: Delta Airlines
Delta Airlines Points.com Redeeming Sky Miles for Tickets Internet
Contacted Delta and notified them that I would not pay the ticket transfer fees ($230 and $260) due to the fact that Delta's Reps did not deliver the ticket even though I did everything I was instructed to do. I then notified Points.com and advised them that I was cancelling the credit card charge the same day the charge was made. Copied Delta and received an email advising that Delta would not absorb the costs of the miles transfers. Copied Delta's response to Points.com who then sent me their policy on refunds for miles transfers. Points.com's policy stated that a refund could be made if Delta initiated the refund through Delta's request. Sent the Point's policy to Delta and received a phone call from a Delta supervisor who stated that they would not initiate a refund even though I cancelled the credit card charges on the same day they were made and in spite of the Points.com refund policy. With that they hung up and I disputed the credit card charges through my carrier. Bottom line----transferring points will cost you and therefore the reward miles cost about as much as a regular coach ticket and Delta does not honor the FTC Truth in Lending laws regarding cancelling credit card purchases during the cooling off periods. I filed an FTC complaint as well as a charge dispute with the credit card company.
