I have recently purcheased a mantle great dane puppy from this breeder. Apon picking the puppy up at the airport I noticed right away the puppy was in poor condiction. My puppy was to be just shy of 10 weeks old and instead looked to be 7 weeks old. The puppy had all bones showing, ribs, spine and hip bones. The puppy also had pressure sores on all 4 legs.

There are others who have bought pups from this breeder who once had them in their care and taken to the vets came to discover that pups had Coccidia and or Giardia. When brought to her these issues she blamed the new owners then many stories came about.

A forth pup just bought from this breeder is now fighting Parvo. The pup was delivered in the back of a pickup truck with a bed cover on it.

I ask anyone who is looking to bring a new great dane pup into their live please please do not bring one from this breeder as you could face heartache in doing so.

On my part I will not ever do business with this breeder and will steer others away from her as it is clear she does not know what she is doing nor does she seem to care.

Perfect Boy From Litter

AUTHOR: Soldiers Mom - ()

It is truly amazing how people are so quick to report something about someone if something comes up that is un true!

Shidoshi Danes is a great breeder! We received our Fawn Boy on Sept 30th in California so he flew 3 hours without any accidents and I was AMAZED how great he looked when we got to the airport and let him out for a second to stretch his legs. He was everything that was described to us and shown to us in pictures! Like anytime we receive any pup we dont take them into public or let them be around any other dogs until they are fully vaccinated to prevent the possibility of contracted parvo, or giardia!

When we took Soldier to the vet in the first 72 hours that we got him, the first thing out of our vets mouth was,"he is gorgeous and he will be HUGE!" He said he was on the perfect food and looked great! I was thrilled and I know how Dena is with her pups, they are her other children. He is now 31lbs!! Love our BIG BOY!

I am blessed that we have come upon Dena and have one of your DANES in our lives!

For someone to ruin someones reputation by something that could be caused by something in your own backyard is sickening and when prove is asked about what the vet diagnosed the pup with, can't be provided that throws red flags up about the person that "swapped" the people! And per contract of Dena's if a pup is to pass away an autopsy is to be performed and instead this person buried the pup in her backyard. I think that is kind of fishy!

People should really think before they ruin someone! karma will haunt you!

Not here to bash nor argue with you

AUTHOR: Stephanie - ()

I never said you neglected to care for the pups once you knew of an issue. I simply posted my experience with you so others can see what it was. I also stated I will not do business with you again and if asked would not suggest you to another. This was not made to bash anyone.

nothing to hide here are the Facts

AUTHOR: Dena McCall - ()

First of all, I want to say Thank you to my friends and puppy buyers that have stood behind me, and given me the opportunity to defend myself against these accusations. There are always two sides to every story. Secondly, I have never denied that ONE of my puppies tested positive for coccidia. I treated all puppies, as a precautionary, since they were exposed to it, due to the one. I posted this publically on my Dane page, for ALL puppy buyers to see. The puppy that tested positive, did not get it due to neglect.

http://www.greatdanelady.com/articles/seasonal_diarrhea.htm. The attached link is a good tool to learn about coccidia. Each visit to our vet, the puppies were tested and if need be treated. Coccidia is contagious, therefore can be passed around over and over, and is more common for litters of puppies to relapse. In my contract, it clearly states that intestinal worms, parasites and other contractable issues is not covered, because this is something that can be contracted environmentally. I *DO* guarantee that all of my puppies are wormed at the appropriate ages, and that they are in good health when leaving my home, with a VET check. Also here is a link for the Giardia as it to can be picked up from several places. Even by infected Birds, cats, and mice. http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/giardia/giardia-and-pets.html

All puppies that leave my home, leave with a current health certificate and exam. By USDA laws, a puppy MUST pass a health exam or they cannot be flown. I can provide proof, by a licensed veterinarian, that these puppies were in absolute excellent health when leaving my care. Yes, the mantle puppy I sold to Stephanie Healy was small, however, she was NOT emaciated, sickly or underweight. She was proportioned for her size, as she was born from a premature litter. She was 15.5lbs at the time of the health exam; She was 8 weeks old at that time, and as you can see on this weight chart (http://www.chromadane.com/ht&wt.htm) ,

although she is on the smaller end, she IS within the recognized weight chart area. Please take note that this weight chart is based off of an average and NOT for preemie litters. The puppies from the mantle litter will be 12 weeks old next Wednesday 10/23/13. Stephanies only complaint was that she was small (which she was aware of prior to purchase), and that she had "pressure sores." Please note, these are not pressure sores from being kept in a small area on a hard surface.

Our puppies have roam of a 2,000sq ft climate controlled barn, where they have access to our carport, which is open ventilation. The puppies have access to soft, padded bedding, however, as most dogs do, choose to lay out and sunbathe or lay on the cool cement. They were not "sores" or open wounds. All of our puppies are whelped in our home, IN MY BEDROOM, and are raised in the home until 6 weeks of age and have received first shots . Once they receive their first set of immunizations, they are allowed to go out in our "barn" and yard, where they are completely secluded from any outside animals.

Lastly, yes, one of the puppies from our Mantle litter, is fighting parvo. He passed his health exam when he left my home, and never showed any signs of sickness, whatsoever. None of the other puppies that are still here, or have been sold, are showing any symptoms of having parvo. The puppy buyer and I both agree, this could have been contracted from the vets office, or from a puppy that had been at the vet. If I had known that he had been exposed or contracted the virus, I would have NEVER sold him, or sent him to a new home. I am not denying that the puppy obviously came in contact with parvo while in my care, however, I want to be VERY clear that parvo has not been on my property to my knowledge, nor have I ever had an infected puppy. The puppy I received from her had conjunctivis, and is being treated accordingly.

I have offered this buyer a replacement puppy or the return of the puppy I received in the trade, if the puppy she received from me passes away. I also offered to pay for HALF of the vet bill, if the puppy survives. I am saddened by this, I pour my heart into raising these babies, and when any of them are hurt or sick, I am deeply hurt. I have tried my very best to raise healthy puppies, from healthy dams and sires, from carefully selected breeding stock, and to hear people say that I do not care about my puppies or that I am only breeding for the money, breaks my heart. I will do anything in my power for my puppies, and am there for lifetime breeder support for all of my past, present and future puppy buyers.

And to you, Stephanie...I am sorry that you felt the need to create a rip off report on me, considering I have done nothing to break our contract, or mislead you in any way. If your goal was to try and blacken my reputation, that is a sad, sad thing for someone to do. However, I will not lower myself to your standards or submit to name calling. I will honor my health contracts for my puppies, because I stand behind what I breed, and more importantly, I stand behind my word. I can only hope that one of your future puppy buyers does not slander your name, and put you on this horrific, libel-filled website. Have a blessed day.

I have attached pictures of the puppy that was diagnosed with parvo. He is with his brother, in the back of my truck, where I had a bed of shavings for them to potty in, since I didn't want them on the ground exposed to anything that could be contracted. They did not ride in the bed of my truck, they rode in the cab with me on a blanket. The other puppy that is pictured with the puppy that has parvo, is doing fine, no signs of parvo or sickness whatsoever. I have also included a picture of Zenzi, the puppy owned by Stephanie (the original poster of this report) two days before flying out, as well as her health certificate.

I have also provided two vet bills showing that the puppies were treated and also the shots they were given. All puppies that are still here will remain here, for a quarantine period of 7-10 days, so that I can make sure that they have not been exposed or contracted parvo. Our entire property has been bleached, every surface, and every crook and cranny. I am not a horrible person, I am human. I make mistakes. But I do my damndest to right my wrongs, and do right by my puppies and my buyers.

Facts?

AUTHOR: FactsorProof! - ()

First off, I want to be clear that I have never purchased a dog from this breeder, sold a dog to this breeder, or know this breeder on a personal level. The dane world, although spread out, is SMALL. I have spoken to this breeder to get her side of the story, and if she wasn't dealing with the crap from all of the lies being told, I'm sure that she would be posting a rebuttal to this as well. Dena, owner and accused has provided ALL proof to back up her side of the story, from a licensed vet. I have yet to see ANY proof from any of the accusers to back up their accusations.

Lets start off with the parvo situation. The owner of the supposed parvo puppy has yet to send Dena any proof that the dog was in fact diagnosed with parvo, even though she has promised to send such information to the breeder. There was a dog trade, in this circumstance, or a "puppy swap" if you must. The dog that Dena received had severe conjunctivis, swollen lympnoids, running a fever, and had a cough. She brought her to the vet and had her treated. She was also told that the mother "forgot" the papers at home, but would mail them to her, yet upon talking to the mother, she found out that the papers on the puppy that was swapped had not even been filed yet! I have included pictures of the puppies the DAY they left the breeder. One of the puppies in the picture is the supposed "parvo" puppy. Lets move to the next accusation...coccidia and giardia. Yes, it is true that one of the puppies tested positive for coccidia while in Dena's care. She NEVER denied that, in fact, she treated that puppy AND the entire litter just to be safe. The puppies NEVER tested positive for Giardia while in Dena's care. They received FULL fecals and health exams, including a state certified health certificate prior to leaving. On their final check ups prior to leaving for their new homes, they tested negative for coccidia. If you don't know what coccidia is, please do your research. It is NOT something covered by a health guarantee, as puppies are BORN with it, it just generally doesn't surface unless it is brought out by stress (which DOES include leaving their moms and littermates to go to their new homes) or damp/unsanitary areas. I'm sure you can see by the pictures, that the puppies do not look like they were abused or mistreated in any way.

As for the poster of this report, Stephanie Fleming Healy, weren't you ADVISED prior to purchasing the puppy, that she was from a litter that was born prematurely? She was on the SMALL side, but her ribs were NEVER showing, nor her hips or spinebone. Her being on the "small" side, is not due to the fact that she was neglected, or not taken care of. In fact, the picture that I was shown of her, she looked quite healthy! (I have posted a picture of her as well, she is the one that is NOT in the truck.) And last but not least, the puppies did not TRAVEL in the back of a pickup truck. They rode in the cab with Dena, and were only put in the back of the COVERED truck to use the bathroom, in which Dena had prepared an area for them with shavings, so that they did not have to touch the ground, in order to prevent them from picking up a disease. Shame on you and the rest of the idiots that are making such horrendous claims against this breeder. On the other puppy buyer, that was asking for a refund because she changed her mind, and did not want full registration....you paid $400 for a quality dog, from excellent lines, WITH A HEALTH GUARANTEE. She delivered the dog to you without charging you a fee, and just because YOUR dog broke a window, doesn't give you the right to bash a breeder that has done nothing but give you a lifetime companion. Try taking one of those "wraps" you sell, and wrap it around the bullshit you are feeding people about Dena. I am not saying she is perfect, but in this instance, sounds like she took every measure to make sure that the puppies that YOU received were in good health. SHAME ON YOU ALL!
