Search TipsThere was an insert in the envelope that contained your renewal notice explaining the late renewal notice. This special notice also advised you that you have 30 days from the due date to pay the renewal fees without penalty. Inserts placed in envelopes from DMV aren't like the ones you would see in your credit card bill. They contain valuable information that you should be aware of.
Finally, it is your responsibility to contact DMV prior to your expiration date if you do not receive your renewal notice. If you would've contacted DMV before the expiration date, like so many others, you would've known why you didn't get your notice. You would've also known that you would have a grace period that is not normally allowed when renewing registrations.
A class action lawsuit would only waste tax payers money, and make those that file it look pretty silly.
