DirecWay dishonest, fraudulant billing Germantown Maryland
On Sept 7 I ordered DirecWay Service over the telephone. I already had the equipment. It was used and paid for. I asked the case manager at that time as I had asked previously before setting up an account "Will
you put me on a contract since I already have the equipment?" He told me, no. You will NOT be on a contract. I was also told this when I first
received the equipment because I called one week before ordering it to make sure.
An installer was due that day at 4 pm. (Sept 7) He did not show up until 8 pm and left at 11 pm. The DirecWay Satellite was up and running. On Sept 10th it quit working. I phoned DirecWay and spoke to a service tech. She took me through some things to see if she could get it to work. She determined that the satellite dish was not aimed right. She told me she would send out a service technician to reaim it within two to three days. She told me I would have a call by Monday. I asked her twice if they would charge me again. She told me twice, no. I called on the evening of Sept. 13 to ask as to why no one has called.
I was put on hold for quite awhile. The man came back and his first words to me were "You have to pay for a service call since your equipment is used." I told him that I would just like to cancel my account. He transferred me. I repeated this story again. I was then transferred again. The lady in billing told me I was under a contract and would be charged an early termination fee of $100 plus one month''s service of which I NEVER HAD.
I was lied to repeatedly and would never of went on a 15 month contract. I did not record my conversations as proof nor did I take names. I took their WORD for it. I am punished because I have used equipment, but treated as if I have new by putting me on a contract (that I
was told TWICE I would not be on since I have used equipment.
