Back in May, 2011, had a young woman come to the door who claimed she was in college and was selling subscriptions to win a trip. She needed to sell as many subscriptions as possible, since there were others from her program in the area and it was a competition for them to see how many folks in the neighborhood they could get to before the others.

Naturally sympathetic to a college-aged kid's story about needing financial assistance for their education goals, I seleced the magazine from her list and wrote a $51.00 check for a one year subscription to Wine Enthusiast. She wrote out the receipt and pointed to the website where I could track the order. As of January, 2012, I have yet to receive any issues of the magazine I ordered.

I waited well beyond the 90-120 days that it states it will take for the order to be processed. On 12/27/11 I finally sent an email to the address given on the website. I've waited another 2+ weeks to hear back from them without any response, and I still have not received the magazine.

Do not be taken in by these magazine selling scams, especially door-to-door.
