I am 65 years old and I am a victim of Elder Abuse-Fraud  in a financial transaction.

While visiting the Best Buy Store in West Covina, CA we were approached by a Direct TV salesman Brandon Downs, who asked us about our current cable service. We told him were not interested because we just signed a 2 year contract for bundled TV, phone and internet with Verizon.  Brandon advised us that he was working in concert with a Verizon District manager to allow Verizon customers to drop Verizon FIOS TV and add Direct TV a total cost of $110. per month.

He promised us that Verizon would waive the $230 early termination fees. He stated he and Verizon has worked a program on numerous occasions over the past three months.  He agave us the name of the Verizon District manager and his phone number (909) 547-7691.  Brandon promised us that Titus would discount our current Internet and Phone to $50 per month and thus the total fees including Direct TV would be $110 plus $115.

Many other promises were made regarding HBO and Showtime access during the next two years via Direct Cinema TV but the real fraud is the visual and verbal fraud being perpetrated by Direct TV and BEst Buy who enabled a cable services dealer called Smart Circle International LLC to conduct their fraudulent sales pitches on senior citizens.  Smart Circle employees wearing Direct TV logo shirts inside a Best Buy store are being allowed to perpetrate fraud on unsuspecting seniors.

The truth was Titus at Verizon was only a sales rep at the local Glendora store and he had no knowledge of  what Brandon Downs  was promising. I called the Best Buy and reported the situation to the store manager ( name forgotten). He was shocked at the story and promised to call a Direct TV district manager by the name of Billy to start an investigation. He promised to call me back but he never did call me back.  Billy Arevalo at 310-254-0788 called me later that same day. Billy Arevalo stated he was a district manager for Direct TV.

He listened to my story and promised to work with me to" make us whole"  He also promised to call me back in a couple of hours but he did not call again.  Verizon was contacted and advised us that they would never waive the early termination fee and the total charges for phone and internet would be $85. Adding the Direct TV fee would make the overall cost nearly $150.   Best Buy was contacted, and Direct TV was contacted.  Veronica Christy of Direct TV  800-254-3810 pin#29288, advised us that we had never been working with Direct TV.

The people who sell Direct TV in Direct TV shirts in Best Buy stores are actually employees of Smart Circle Int. LLC. Direct TV says they have no authority to make us whole. They can only investigate this and ask Smart Circle Int. LLC for our money back.  We want the $60 paid for the satellite equipment installed, plus the $20 fee paid to Smart Circle Int for sign up and we want Smart Circle to pay for Verizon to come back to our home and reinstall the Verizon FIOS services.  Direct TV has asked us to wait until January 18 th for them to get an answer from Smart Circle.

Smart Circle would not be able to perpetrate theses FRAUDS without having the Direct TV clothing and operating inside Best Buy stores.  We were induced and influenced by the fact were were dealing with Direct TV inside a Best Buy store.  What could be wrong?  These two large corporation would never allow fraud to be perpetrated in their names..  Wrong.. Now they want to separate themselves from Smart Circle but they cannot. They enable the fraud by giving Smart Circle the powerful images of  direct TV clothing and Best Buy locatiions.
