Can Direct TV actually hold me to over $300 in a early cancellation fee, after I had told them I was forced to suspend the contract? They told me then that they have to hold it for 6months regardless of the reasoning. Then I will get an email from them asking if my situation has changed. If not, there would be full suspension with no fee's or money owed. Suddenly the whole conversation changed. After 6months I recieved their email & replyed back as stated. Then, came an email that told me I had to call & speak to them. Told them my situation hasn't changed, except for having to loose my job, been under a doctors care & preparing a lawsuit with my previous residence (couldn't take Direct TV with me if I wanted to).

Instead of taking the receivers off my hands so they wouldn't get damaged (costing me more later on), they were to remain with me. Since I wasn't actually told I was to give them back, I did store them in their original boxes. Yet now I have to wait for them to send me a different box with an attached statement, as to make sure my bill owing over $300 gets sent back with the receivers. But, nobody cared about the dish. Leave it they said! I have so many days to pay it or they will take it from my credit card on file (good luck).  After 20mins of not being heard by what was said & done in the original conversation, I was told to be quiet so the guy could read what their all basically trained to say and that's it. After listning to part of what the heck this guy was telling me, I felt like I was being incarcerated for doing a terrible thing. Now angry, I had to stop the guy and tell him no way.

It's just not funny to real in customers to such a contract that didn't seem to exist or spoken about in full detail before they had you signed on. Or, rushing somebody out to hook up the equipment of who knows nothing but what they need you to sign & what their job is to do. Any good business owner knows, that every contract has it's exceptions. It's knowing how and when to support a situation that may or could happen & knowing what the impossibles are so not to loose a customer for good. Especially, since I was transferred to a higher up to take care of the suppension in the beginning and was told how sorry they were for my reasoning and not too worry. This is our country today... Greed & high price TV, where you wonder why so many can't afford medical insurance. That's "Highway Robbery", for ya! My apologies for stepping out a bit, but I am very upset & tired of the ignorance in so many people today, that I just don't see the integrity that most try to play up too.
