For over 2 years I was a loyal customer of Directv and had no problems with them. We always paid our bill on time. My problem started when i had problems with the AT&T services that were bundled with the Directv. Finally giving up on AT&T, we decided to discontinue the AT&T/Directv bundle service (the bundle service gave us a ten dollar discount per month on Directv) and go back to Charter for both internet and tv service. I called both AT&T and Directv and cancelled the service, explaining to Directv that my problem was not with them but AT&T and suggested that they not do any more bundles with them. The Directv spokeswoman said they would send the final bill and was sorry to see me go. Unknown to me, my wife had just sent a check to directv for over $71. I called them and they said they would cut a refund check.


A few days later, they deducted $17.11 from my wifes checking account without our knowledge or consent. I immediately called them and voiced a strong complaint. Directv said that when i signed up for the service that we automatically gave consent for them to access and debit our checking account at their discretion! OUTRAGEOUS. If in fact they can do this, then that should be strongly pointed out in the agreement and verbally acknowledged. It took over 8 weeks for the refund check. OUTRAGEOUS. A refund check should be delivered with 10 days max. They deducted $10 from what was overpaid because "the $10 discount was no longer applicable since I dropped AT&T". OUTRAGEOUS. I dropped both at the same time. Directv is a HUGE company and has no reason whatsoever trying to bully, nickel and dime, and outright cheat its customers. For this kind of treatment Directv, you have earned my eternal enmity and will never get my business again. In addition, I will explain my treatment from you to as many people that I can and try to convince them not to give you their business either. Nuff said!
