Directv

AUTHOR: James - (U.S.A.)

First of all I don't believe the " customer is always right ". As a business owner it comes down to what I'm I willing to do. To keep the customer satisfied if they are right or wrong.

Lets face facts the customer isn't going to read the contract . No matter what you do or say they wont read it. Something they should take the blame for. But someone should at least explain to the customer what they are getting into. Like have the customer walk along through a site survey and explain whats going on.

I would rather take the time to explain everything and lose the job. Than to lie to get the job. Only to get charged back becaused the customer cancelled their service. Doing my job isn't a waste of my time. It's what I'm getting paid to do.

I only have the customers word on what went on. But when I go out on a site survey for a new install or a dish move. I take along my Bird Finder to check out the line of sight for the installation. If the customer wants to look through the sightglass. Just to check out what I'm looking at. I let them look to see what could possible be a problem for the installation.

Apparently the Directv Technician Idiot Test . Just isn't meeting the Standard of Quality Installation Performance. Because I don't remember seeing the question where the Technician gets to call the customer a moron. Or a complaint I read last year" Whereby the Tech told the customer to F%$K yourself and then drove off ".

In December 2010 Directv got sued and fined by all 50 State Attorney General Offices. I guess they're morons also for listening to all those complaints.

Technicians have to understand that we are going into a customer's home . Its their job to make the customer undertand . If it's a waste of their time or not. If your not willing to hear a few complaints . Maybe they should go get a job that fits them the best without any complaining.

I've heard customers complain about anything and everything. I once had a customer tell his wife while I was standing there. That if she knew how to give a good BJ he wouldn't have cheated on her. Then she walked out and slammed the door. After 28 years Ive heard some complaints .

Customer's should take time to read their contract before signing and get a copy after you sign it. You never know if they forgot to tell you something . Or they are lying to you. Also nothing says you have to sign the contract until your happy with the installation. I've had a few jobs where I had to go back. To finish the job and then got the customers signature on the contract. Whatever happened to good business practices.

Directv Tech's have guide lines they have to follow . That is why it's more important to closing out the job. Than to doing one right. As In any business some people know what they are doing and some don't .

Maybe you should consider a local Directv Dealer who might meet your needs. You may have to paid in some cases to have them come out to do a site survey. But in the long run you might just be happier about it. Never hurts to get a second opinion.

You never know what any human might say or do.

You're an Idiot

AUTHOR: stopcomplainingpeople - (United States of America)

Maybe instead of complaining about not having Directv in your home you should spend your time learning the English language.  I would imagine it took you several hours to post such a short and irrelevant comment because you had to look up every word in your spanish to english dictionary.  I'm sick of people complaining to try and get something for free.  It sounds like you attempted to transfer your services to a new address, otherwise you wouldn't have paid any money from a previous address.  When a Directv technician calls in a no line-of-site the customer is asked if they would like a second opinion.  You most likely, did not comprehend that as you are a moron.  Therefore, before posting a negative comment about a technician who most likely knows more than you do about the ability to have Directv at your residence, get the second opinion.  Or, go out and buy a compass and an inclinometer, learn the elevation and direction a satellite needs to face, then verify for yourself that in cannot be installed at your residence.  Lastly, to have someone "try" to install Directv is ridiculous. We as technicians get paid to close out jobs, not spend two or more hours to "try" to get a sufficient signal.  If after this "trying" effort a sufficient signal cannot be achieved we have now wasted our time and money to "try" to make you happy.  I can bet you wouldn't be a tipping customer either.  Speaky spanny?

It's possible this Direct TV installer just didn't want to install your equipment and not get paid..

AUTHOR: Ken - (USA)

but, these installers can usually tell if there's an obstruction, especially trees, that leaf out in the spring and cause poor or no service.

Your neighbor, who you claim has a tree in front of his dish and gets Direct TV...NO he doesn't if it's in between the dish and the satellite.  YOU have no way of knowing this, even if it looks like its in the way.

If it WERE in the way, he would get erratic or NO rececption.

My Dish antenna looks to be pointed at my neighbors tree, but if sighted along its aim, the satellite is ABOVE the tree line.

Glad you're the expert and the installer is a dope.
