I recently was ripped off by a Dish Network retailer called Mini Dish Network. I was working at a county fair in Benton County. At the time I was helping a Chef for Kitchen Craft Cookware. I spoke with the Dish Network rep and he told me he knew someone I knew in the business. The person I knew was a christian guy who didn't drink and fairly honest. I had sold Dish Network door to door through this other agency . The dish Network company at the fair was called Mini Dish Network and operates out of Portland , Oregon. The owner is Brett Driver his brother pretends to be the owner his name is Troy Driver.
Troy Driver was who I spoke to at the fair. He had a business card that said Owner on it. I assumed he was legitimate because of how he told me he knew my friend I had worked with before as an agent of dish network. This Troy Driver guy told me I could call him anytime and he would get me out selling dish network contracts.
After a few fairs with kitchen craft I was in need of employment because the job was temporary. I called Troy Driver and he told me to come over to his house. He operated out of his garage. He told me he would start training me that day. When I arrived he told me he would not be able to train me because of another fair and he had a sales agent who was top notch and could train me. Then the other sales agent suddenly quit and was no longer working with Troy. They had a dispute over paperwork honesty. Troy told me I could stay in his garage for a few hundred dollars until I could get a few contracts . He said he wouldnt bother me All he needed was three contracts a month from me for the garage space. I had just stopped working at fairs and needed a few weeks of work to get into another place. I accepted the invitation.
I hadnt been able to get ahold of my friend who's supposed friendship with troy made it seem safe to me. As soon as I brought my bags to Troy's he changed like jeckyl and hide. The next day I was locked out of the house and had no access to the toilet . Then I was yelled at and told I had to do yard work and house work. Then I was told I had to help work at the state fair. I didnt leave right away because I figured I could stomach it until I got a few sales. He told me each day he would find someone to train me . He finally found someone . It was someone who was ripped off by another retailer and quit Dish Network for a year. He said he was ripped off 5000 dollars in commissions. I was started to get the picture.
I had no bad experiences like this prior with dish and couldnt get a hold of my friend I worked with before. I was yelled at each morning and told I had to drive people to the state fair . At night I had to drive home because Troy was a heavy beer drinker. He yelled all day and night for people to do everything his way. At the end of that fair I had a few sales pending and was getting the hang of it. I had no real formal training or even been walked through any sales .
I was given an ultimatem to go with Troy to the next fair in Puyallup washington. He told me I couldnt stay at his house after telling me he would leave me alone all he asked was 3 sales a month. now I had to goto puyallup. He was talking to me about contracts and how he got started in Dish. He had sold dish for several years but he never filed his taxes for 10 years he told me. To hide from the IRS he had his brother put the business in his brothers name. . I needed to get out of the situation but I had only a few minutes of the day to do anything . He would yell and scream at me and then say I love you Ed really I'm a good guy you just have to work around here we need some sales out of you. Or words to that effect.
I had to drive to Puyallup because he was drinking. He yelled at me as soon as we got there. He was drunk and harrassing me. I had detective training earlier in my life and could put on a straight face and understood he was drunk I had to humor. I had to open at the fair everyday and stay until close. He would arrive late afternoon sometimes early noon. Then he would leave a few hours before close and get drunk. He was hardly there and I had no training or experience. He agreed he would give me a 50 dollar commission on every sale at the fair.
All I had to do he said was bring people back to the booth. He told me he expected 300 sales from the fair. We werent getting very many and he was yelling and screaming every day and night. I would get 5 or 6 sales and he would yell for me to get more and call me names and call people names behind their backs who would come to the booth and leave. The sales people in booths next us noticed how he behaved and a manager came over to me and told me he would let me sell hot tubs and the first hot tub I sold he'd give the commission right then to help me get home and not have to go through Troy driver anymore. He embarrassed me and those around him everyday and night. he drank every night and sometimes in the day. I had to be disignated driver every night because at the end of each night he was drinking.
I was about to leave and he told me he would pay me 5000 dollars if we just get 100 sales before the fair ends. We had about 35 and 10 days left. I thought it was possible. A few days later he put his laptop on my shoulder as we were walking to the car after closing time. I told me to carry it to the car. I carried the laptop and set it down next to him when we got to the vehicle . I told it was there. He was on his cell phone and told me I am driving he's been drinking.
We left the parking lot and noticed his laptop didnt get into the car. I assumed he put it in the car. He threatened to kill me beat me called me every name he could then when we arrived back to get the laptop it was gone. I told the police about his behavior. He blamed me for it yet it was his job to keep track of the laptop and his laptop. He was drinking not me and I set it down next to him. He was unable to speak to me he was beligerant and verbally abusive. I went back home on the bus.
I got a ticket from family and his brother played the innocent owner who really wasnt involved and I had to get my money from Troy. Troy decided I owed him for the lap top and then after a few weeks I called him and told him I was going to file a law suit and call the IRS. He told me he would pay me in 10 days from that time a small portion of my sales. a week past that 10 days and he still wasnt paying me. I decided to just take him to court and sue him.
Nearly every word out of Troy's mouth was a lie or some word to prepare himself for another lie.
Troy's deciet put me on the street for more than a week with no place to stay!!!
Luckily I met a truck driver who would hire me to be a lumper and teach me to drive truck.
I still have a few days to start that job so until then I am still injured from Troy Drivers business Deciet and Dish Network is absolutely how Troy Driver could do it. So Dish and TRoy are guilty to me I'll have to see in court. The least Dish could do is not let Troy use their company to do business his way.

Just wanted to update on my supposed laziness status

Well, now my lazyiness is reaching new heights Troy, I have completed a year and a half of college, pilot endorsement,motorcycle endorsement, realistate broker course, bartenders course, grant writing, art 9 A's 2 B's and 2 'C's for grade, 3.9 average last term, half way through a drafting degree, passed weight lifting, jogging,cycling,bowling,and hand gun shooting class, CCW permit oregon and utah, currently taking interior design, mens tailoring, project management, supervision and management, mastering business fundamentals, leadership, two italian cuisine classes, . I will be taking customer service course, business finance, logistics and distribution course, how to start you're own business course, and comedy course with archery and italian cuisine,
I also took a sound engineering course this term and taking another sound engineering next term, thats not to mention my advanced guitar course and fiddle course I already took. plan to get atleast 3 more A's this term and will be taking woodworking also this coming term, Scuba diving this summer, probably will get some automotive repair training before I graduate. How's that for someone who was just a disgruntled homeless guy supposed lazy and didn't want to work. just wanted to share that with anyone who reads this because they try and make troy seem like a saint who wouldn't rip off a soul, and me the lazy liar who just didn't want to work,

After reading the story of your horrible experience with Troy, I felt it necessary to add my thoughts and experiences as well.
I met Troy over the phone in October of 2011 while setting up service with Dish Network. I have never met Troy face to face, but was offered the same opportunities to get into his business that you were. Circumstances did not allow for me to be able to take the opportunity, but without ever meeting me, he offered to train me and help me get something moving forward in my life.
From the standpoint of business, I have found Troy to be very prompt, professional and hard working. When I created a problem with the installation of the Dish service, Troy worked very hard to ensure that everything got worked out and resolved. After service was installed, he followed up several times to ensure that everything was going well.
I have read your report and notice a couple of things. First, you have spent the last four years trying to disparage Troy and his brother. If you have recovered so well in your life that things are so well, it would seem to me that this experience would not be quite so important to you and you would not be working so hard to convince anyone that reads this that you are so right and Troy is so wrong.
Second, you were offered a place to stay and an opportunity to take part in a business that could have done very well for you. In return, you were asked to perform some chores around the house and to work for the opportunity to make a success of yourself. If this is the form a rip-off takes today, I fear that our world is better off ending.
As to the events at the fair in Washington, I can only speculate as I was not there. However, I can say that I would be very unhappy, too, if I had just lost my laptop and all of my client data was out there for whoever found the machine. Forgive me for not having sympathy for your plight when Troy asked you to look after his property so he could take care of other matters in his business, then gets his property destroyed for his effort.
TO THE WORLD: I have had the opportunity to do business with Troy, have had many conversations with him over the months and found his business ethics to be beyond reproach. I have heard of more than one occasion where Troy and his brother have worked to help others to be a success in their lives, and not from Troy or his brother. I have done my research on this matter.
To whoever reads this, ask one question: Is it likely that Troy is a rip-off for trying to help one person and not getting far with that, or is Mr. Edward simply a disgruntled ex-employee looking for a free ride? The evidence needed to answer that question is in this series of posts. The fine, upstanding citizen out to protect us all from the big, bad boogey-man Troy has spent more than four years trying to slander him.
Edward, perhaps you could come out to Aloha for a cup of coffee some time and we can discuss all of the ways your sniveling has worked out for you and your plastic jewelry business.
Troy, keep up the good work. I wish there were more people like you in this world.

Well I see other people have come forward and one even placing a class action suit. Calling you Troy and Brett youre brother both decietfull as I originally posted. Just for you info lazy me like you wrote you know the unwanted unwelcome guy you supposedly helped out. Well I finished my realistate broker course, got my ground school endorsement to fly, got my motorcycle license, joined the Elks, Got an A in aerodynamics, A in sustainability, of course A in jogging, B in weight lifting bench over 200 leg press over 1000, got my concealed weapons permit, have my hunting license, 30/06, 380 pistol, 12 gauge for the ducks, 22 rifle, compound bow, fishing license , crabbing, oh my business license for Eds Treasures Imports and More, which I am getting my fur traders license and will be trapping soon, you know one of those few thousand people who are lazy and go trapping for furs. I am getting an A in autocad drafting, and to top it off I have over 30 computer programs I came up with a MIT graduate college teacher in computers says I can definately sell and is going to help me write the programs.

Its been awhile but I guess there is still much to say about it. It seems anyone can write or say words on youre behalf troy. Also even make up things to say about me. Currently I just finished ground school, and aviation science course, I am taking aerodynamics and a realistate broker license course currently while I get back in shape in a few college athletic courses . You Know lazy me I just do those things. I am a member of the american legion,roman catholic,working on becoming a member of the Elks,Moose lodges, also the lions club. I will more than likely have my own booth at some fairs this summer . I am starting a degree in drafting in spring to design houses and use my realistate license to its fullest potential. oh and also currently taking a course in sustainable science you know to learn about the hood lol. I guess you cable guys and dish door to door dudes are really outsmarting people. Oh and my family has a mining company drilling for oil on thier mineral rights in the dakota's. no dish sales though to bad dude.

My name is William, i have know troy driver for over 6 months. i have been around his business for a long time. I met Troy at a hotel when he recently moved to Orlando. We started talking and i knew he was a nice guy, then he offered to rent a room in the house he was getting and i agreed. We moved out off the hotel within a week off me meeting troy. So i know troy isnt a procrasinator he told me many times he doesnt procrasinate. I stayed with him in his house for over 5 months watching and hoping one day i could sell dish for him. He knew what he was talking about he always seemed to fix any problems his costumers needed. During that time i noticed that troy had a kind heart so he let in another guy to work for him that guy was a lazy mother f*ker that ended up getting booted. So troy gives everyone a chance if you f*k up that is with anyone you work for then you are fired. thats life buddy. I learned allot from troy he was like my dad. He did yell a couple off times but who the f*k doesnt? He was a very clean person i just learned that if ur living with people like roomates you have to take some responsibilty in the space ur sharing with them so you have to clean up and sh*t. Troy wouldnt rip anyone off he sure as hell didnt rip me off he opened his door to me and took care off me when i needed help when i didnt have a job yet and even when i got a job he helped me out. He never asked for money in return i just decided to pay him back little at a time like a friend should do. In the 6 months i have know troy he has only been drunk probably twice. We did drink beers during the day probably during the weekends but who doesnt? Dude thats complaining and trying to make troy and bretts company look bad, you need to get a life. All troy did was try to help you out but you f*ked up.im young and i learned allot off stuff from troy he is a good guy and so is his brother brett. To be honest i dont think ill be where i am now if it wasnt for troy lending me his helping hand. Ill still be at the hotel living in a small space trying to save money but not being able too. I moved into a nice house with him and his two beautiful daughters , he really was like a second dad to me. So i suggest you lay off and stop fucking around with troy and bretts company because i know for a fact no matter what you say or do you cant stop troy from running his and bretts buisness. I guess I just happened to be lucky troy because I now havethousands in assets just to sell paid for no money owed on them. My own online treasure shop selling gems and other rare items. I just wanted to share my success story for those who may of been ripped off before. Life does go on but I wouldnt of updated this if it still doesnt stay with me the actual experience of being swindled by a hood dwelling business man with no care for ethics or morals.

Hope no one is buying dish this year from mini dishnetwork

Well Two years went buy the fair season is starting. If anyone is wanting buy from this guy troy driver or his brother brett If you care who gets paid from the work then I would goto another dealer. Troy I just want to share some pictures of my recovery from the so called disgruntled homelessness which was really you offensively using deciet to make an enjoyable summer working fairs into a tragic summer of danger and deciet. Here is some of the treasures I have bought to become a hobby gem cutter ,treasure maker. Oh and now I am working on some rental property in Brazil. I guess if I was such a helpless guy down on his luck and not just someone living out of a bag traveling working fairs then I am sure all the homeless helpless people will succeed as well inspite of people like mini dish and other predators like you.

Two years after the rippoff

Well just wanted to write an update on what I have had to do to recover from Mini Dish rippin me off for a months sales profits .
I endured several months of hard homelessness in the city after the mini dish ripoff After taking several months to study agriculture and more business I worked the fairs again moved back to the country where I worked at a hardware store for several months and enrolled to study flight technology. I now have 1000's of dollars of clothing,car,3 bedroom house rental , live in the mountains with a panoramic view,precious gems,gold,silver,diamonds ect.,and all the things I need including 100's of dollars in fishing gear plus a nice crossbow to hunt with. I even have a new 80 dollar stetson cowboy hat and two new pair of cowboy boots. So I am a happy camper. Yet I still cant believe there was no justice in such an expensive urban culture to protect me from such a horrid experience. Please people dont deal with Mini Dish Network and if you need satellite t.v. get direct t.v. or just get cable.

Troy I understand that you and youre brother are both drop outs and grew up in the hood. I would not have done business with you if I had known that before hand. However I thankGod I didnt have to be youre friend or neighbor growing up or living my life, you loser. I just wanted to let you know that I recovered from youre little con and cureetly a flight technology student working on an associateds to be a proffessional pilot. I also am working on my own small business investment company. As I also have a diiploma in private investigations , a paralegal certificate, a business operations certificate, a barcaeers certificate, and I am a U.S. army veteran honorable discharged. So, drop out loser con guy. Its almost mathmatical you dont have a life all you have is a few credit cards and some street con sales skills. I see a dim and unholy future for you guy. There is no need in the business community for cons and liars who have no real prudence or discipline.

I have been dealing with mini dish network for about 2 years now and have put mini dish in both my home and a rental. I have never had any problems with troy or his brother brett. sounds like you are a disgruntled employee. have a nice day !!

Well that would really make you and youre brother liars. So which is it. I am sure youre brother told me If it made me feel any better he fired you. I dont think you really understand how stupid and offensive you seem you liar. Everyone who had to be around you at the fair was offended about you. The security people told me they would turn their head if I wanted to do anything. The staff told me they would ban you if I filed a formal report. If I hadnt been out of money I probably would of pursued a law suit . The IRS I figure is the most ripped off by you. I was an are a catholic and have faith in different life than a liars like yours. Not only do have an education unlike you. I actually have discipline and knowledge that keeps me really a winner of youre kind. Besides having never been in jail such as yourself . Which was for what was that? Robbery I believe. I think you have alot of losing to do in youre life yourself and dont realise that everyone around you who isnt youre friend isnt living the same lie. The more you rip people off and pretend its youre way that everyone around you thinks youre an offensive psycho path con the more you lose. Youre brother may of rehired you after firing you . But he did tell me you were fired. So that just makes it harder to believe youre brother was anyone to do business with. If youre brother ever does get rid of you for real he might have more of life himself.

Hey Edward just so you know I am still working hand in hand with The Mini Dishnet work and my Brother and I get along just fine however we all feel very sorry for you since your homeless and nobody cares about you including your own family that turned you away and I am the 1 that told my brother to tell you that I no longer work for the company so that you can quit harrassing us and just go away...We have alot of hard working sales reps that are working with us and get paid very well....if your looking for a free ride you little homeless man I suggest you stay in the shelters like you have been and next time you convince someone that your a hard worker you had better perform because thats what cost you your position with us other then you being irresponsible and losing my laptop that cost me a couple thousand dollars which I forgot that you thought was my problem because im such a HARDCORE ALCOHOLIC LMAO anyways little man just go away like the little flea you are and quit harrasing us because your no longer welcome back to work with our company as a Independent contractor ever again and your open threats mean NOTHING to me....NOW GET A CLUE AND GET A LIFE LOSER. P.S how did that truck driving position work out for you I heard he kicked you to the curb like all the other jobs did including ours LOL Good Luck with that Llama farm thing also LMFAO

Troy I see you are definately a proffesional liar. I see you are saying you are the innocent guy . You supposedly didnt drink every day and night until early morning the next day. Supposedly you took me to Jc Penny. Well I had two suits and 4 or 5 pair of slacks that were in good condition before you purchased the two pair you bought. You went there and had me watch the booth alone by myself having no real training on the product. The clothes were purchased on a clearance sale and had price tags in the 10 dollar or less range. I am pretty certain the shoes. I had a pair of nice shoes that actually fit. The ones you bought was youre own opinion of attire. You bought blue jeans . I had slacks. YOu wanted me to wear blue jeans. The homeless guy disgruntled thing . You are completely a phsycopath according to youre brother who eventually fired you from the company because of the way you do business and lie. You tried to not pay youre own brother over the same fair. I am certain You are stewing in credit debt and back taxes over youre own ethics in business. I dont have the same credit debt or back taxes. I also dont lie about being a business owner and dont lie to get people to get people to see my side of the story. I know I could pass a polygraph although its not really needed. I have witnesses to me having clothes before I met you just weeks and days prior. also I had other business oportunities and places to stay before I met you . I had just been traveling and working with another company on a fair. I was in transition had not permanent address is all. The sudden decision was because I trusted Dish and someone you told me you were friends with who I could not get a hold of. I am sure he is a good character witness to who you really are. Being how he knew you but did have differences with you as you're own brother also did have differences with you. To me Troy you are a lost slave to youre own imaginations of what justice and life is really. If you manage to provide some kind of life for youre family you do. However I dont believe you can hide much more of youre real intentions and the ethics you choose in business in my opinion will increase youre lifes problems and decrease youre lifes value. I think you are a worthless liar in other words. I dont want anything from you . I think the IRS wants to know more about youre business expertise maybe you could get a job with them.

It has recently come to my attention that an individual that I tried to help off the streets by offering him a independent contractor position with dishnetwork has filed a slandering report against me and my brothers company. I have noticed that theres a bit of fabricating in this report about me and I want to set things straight.
edward came to me towards the end of July asking for my help because he had recently become homeless and was currently staying in a shelter downtown portland,edward seemed to me as a very trusting individual and told me that he was a hard worker and that he had sold dishnetwork services in the past and therefore we were willing to give him a try as a independent contractor with our business as a Outdoor sales rep (canvasser) edward had become very challenging for our company when it came time to train him or actually get him to go to work and try and sell,
Edward was told on numerous occasions to stay off the computer and stay focused on trying to learn and help customers so that he was able to make himself some money and I told him if he wasnt willing to learn and listen to what we needed him to do that we would no longer be willing to help him any longer...he told me he will try harder so I was willing to give him a little more time to learn.I mentioned to edward that if he was willing to work hard and stay focused that I was willing to take him with us to the Puyallup County fair where he could potentially make himself a little money and it would be a good way to learn how to sell dishnetwork services by talking with customers 1 on 1.
He was told that he would be required to pay a 3rd of the hotel expense and he will have to reimburse me for food when he made himself some money because I wasnt willing to pay for everything out of my pocket..edward was ok with that and so I decided to take him with us which turned out to be the wrong thing to do...edward had become very lazy and again was more focused on staying on the computer when I wasnt able to be at the fair, because I had errands I needed to do daily before making it to the fair,
I would show up usually 2 hours after the fair started daily and each and everytime I showed up I witnessed edward sitting down and not trying to talk to any customers but rather stayed on the computer doing his research he said he was doing because he was a poet and wanted to learn how to raise Llamas on a farm and profit from it....
I told him he needed to stay focused on the job at hand because he new that attending the Puyallup County Fair was very costly for us to be there and we needed to make sure we were able to make it worth while whie at the fair..Edward also failed to mention that he had 1 pair of pants from what I remember and possibly 1 maybe 2 shirts and i felt sorry for him so I decided to have another sales rep manage the booth and I took edward to Jcpenny and let him spend a couple hundred dollars on a few pair of pants and a few shirts and shoes....
i constantly fed edward and he had asked me daily for me to buy him cigerettes and beer which he has also fabricated me as a alcoholic (drinking a few beers nightly after work)...I think edward is a very nice guy but I believe that he has alot of growing up to do and needs to understand that if your not willing to learn and work that you will not make it anywhere....
edward never (not Once ) signed a customer up by himself completly (without My Help) and he new that he would only get paid once he was able to sign up a customer on his own and I was willing to spend the time with him until he got to that point...edward started to become very argumentative with everyone around him becuase he wasnt selling like he had hoped and It wasnt a good fair for any of us but we had to make the best of what we had.
Edward I feel is lashing out the only way he can because I chose to not use edward and longer because he was bringing everyone down around him because of his negative attitude and it was effecting everyones performance while working ( I have several witnesses ) what actually got me to send him away from the fair was that he was not willing to take any blame for him leaving the companies $2000 laptop sitting on the ground outside the vehicle and yes I was very upset because this laptop bag had customers personal information inside it and I was afraid that it could possibly get into the rong hands and could create issues for the company and possibly some customers.
I did send edward home after that and told him that we will not be using him again in the furure and I said good luck to him and that he can contact me after the event is over and I will still try and do ssomething for him financially because of his time spent with us .....even though he was never a employee but a independent contracted sales rep that got paid based on commision sales not hourly.....
however I felt sorry for him and I was willing to compensate him but it wasnt going to be alot considering I piad for the Hotel and Food and his cigerettes and Beer and bought him clothes from jcpenny and I also did end up getting my laptop returned a few weeks later which the laptop bag had been ran over by a vehicle and Thank God all the customers personal information was still inside but the computer screen was smashed and needed replaced and I just wanted edward to accept some of the blame which he wasnt willing to do even though he in fact was the person who has lost the laptop in the first place but he wasnt willing to accept any of the blame for losing it but he wanted to switch the blame on Danny which was another Sales rep and danny had nothing to do with it.....
just a little word of advice to business owners out there.....dont ever invite someone into your home and go out of your way for somebody you dont know even though you feel sorry for them because this could be what the end result could turn out to be especially for edwards next victim....I do have a good heart and I do wish edward the best and I hope he finds his way in life but this isnt going to be the way to make it in life by treating people this way that tried to help you and take you off the streets....

ed if you somehow read this try and stay focused and stay away from the serious drinking and you can find hope in life and also when someone trys and helps you try and remember that they cared enough to pull you off the streets and give you a chance dont treat them like you have me by slandering there name because it can create a very costly lawsuit to you....I have proof and documents supporting what Ive mentioned on this rebuttal for anyone interested......
we run a very smooth operation and I have never mistreated anyone that has worked with us.....im sorry edward feels we have mistreated him and we wish Edward the best and we wanted to say we tried to work with you but you were unwilling to work and learn. take care Edward
