In Oct 06 we were offered a deal to change from Direct TV to Dish. The offer was being advertised in SAMS CLUB, Las Cruses.NM. The offer: Top 200 at 39.95 per month +tax for ten months, at the end of the contract the amount would rise to 59.95+tax. So a $20.00 per month discount!!As to what actually happened.. well that a whole different ballgame.

The first bill was 59.95+ tax then for the next ten months we were billed varying amounts, none of them being anywhere near what the contract promised, I spent untold hours calling and e-mailing them to no avail. To keep it short, we were promised by supervisors,Tech people, sales people, billing departments.. not to worry they have corrected the problems!!! A TOTAL PACK OF LIES.

Current situation: I have sent one last e-mail to them asking for a complete breakdown of charges for the contracted period( I have done this on two previous occasions) Unless we receive a satisfactory response from Dish soon I will make it my business to expose there fraudulent offers to the worldwide web.

Latest: To add insult to injury we have just tried to cancel the service and find there are a multitude of holes dug for the customer to fall into.Hence we currently have the basic package + their $6 a month cancellation fee for HD!! + $5 cancellation believe it!!

Call Wal-Mart

AUTHOR: Gharris - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, May 01, 2008

Wal-Mart does care about the companies they do business with and contrary to what Mattfast1 says, complaining to the HOME office of Wal-mart in Arkansas about that particular Sam's Club can get an internal Investigation into the practices set forth by them and Dish Network. IF Dish Network is telling them one thing and they are doing another, those at Sam's club will be reprimanded but if it's Dish Network who is telling Wal-Mart one thing to sell a service and doing another, Wal-Mart will pull this from any and all Sam's clubs.

Bottom line is if you have a complaint, Mattfast1 is here to make you believe that it's never Dish Networks fault. They are shady. They allow 3rd party sellers to lie about gifts and contract prices to secure the deal. Mattfast1, shame on you. These are legitimate complaints about the company and it's practices with 3rd party contractors. Many of the complaints are legit, it's people like you that give no help.

Policies of Dish

AUTHOR: Mattfast1 - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, January 09, 2008

1. America's Top 200 is $42.99 per month. Bundled with Local channels and the DVR service fee, it's $49.99 per month. No retailer has the authority to advertise anything different.
2. HD programming is $20 per month, with the first 6 months free.
3. The first bill is for 2 months, as Dish Network charges a month in advance.
4. All services, fees, and credits are itemized on your monthly bill.
5. ALL HD receivers have a $6 per month HD Enabling Fee. This fee is waived with subscription to HD programming.
6. If you have a cancellation fee, you do not have service. What exactly does that fee show as?
7. If you do not dispute charges within 20 days of their assessment (either in writing or by phone), this constitutes the acceptance of such charges. This, along with all fees, is detailed in the Residential Service Agreement, available from dishnetwork.com, in the user's manual for your receivers, and on Chan. 100 (DishHome).

All prices given here are as of 01/09/08.

Sams club still let this offer be sold

AUTHOR: Dishbomber - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 19, 2007

We visited Sams club recently and see that the same offer is still being touted in their store. I will see what Dish does and then if necessary, file a complaint to Sams club.
