Dobler management is the new management company for the Yorkshire/Vermont apartments. They have changed the name of the apartments to Country Gables.

The complex is not as serene as the name implies. Especialy for 13 families that are being kicked out of the complex because Dobler Management is no longer accepting section 8 clientele. Albeit, probably not illegal, but definately IMMORALE. Because it comes down to MONEY.

AND...their is a wheelchair bound/disabled woman here, who is in need of her water heater being fixed because it makes too much noise, hence keeping her awake at night . The new management is REFUSING to do so. The woman tried to get a solution by trying to work things out...in the end...the complex THREATENED to call the police on her if she did not leave their office.

INHUMANE AND IMMORAL!

Dobler Management and section 8

Dear Pel,

I can tell you that I have worked for this company for a few years. I am an apartment manager. Over the last several years Dobler has managed to convince owners of the buildings they manage to drop section 8. The reasoning is two fold. The first is the market for rental apartments is very good and thus participating in section 8 is no longer a requirement to the bottom line. The second reason is that both Tacoma and Pierce County Housing Authorities have become a little lax on inspections and sending their portion of the rent payment in a timely manner. Not to mention that rent increases must be made six months in advance. This amounts to a lot of work for the one person that handles such matters at their main office. I don't agree with their business practices at all. They give very little if anything at all back to the communities in which they manage. The rents are much higher. But the reason why owners hire Dobler to manage their properties is because they believe that Dobler can increase the bottom line. If you ask anyone that works in property management what company is the absolute worst, they will tell you Dobler. They are the worst management company to work for and when I am finished working here, I will never rent any apartment managed by them. If they don't think they can make money off of you, they will get rid of you very quickly. Hence the reason only 3 of their 70 someodd apartment rentals offer section 8.
