I shop Dollar General several times a week. The store in Startzville, Tx. is usually cluttered and although there are usually 4 or 5 people working in the store there is only one cashier with a long line of customers.
The store is running a promotion and it is taped to the shelves in the store to text to 34898 and type in "Save2" to save $2.00 on a $10.00 purchase. You are to get a text back with a code to give the cashier. This is suppose to happen immediately. My cashier told me "I do not know anything about it you will have to talk to someone else." I insisted she get someone. She was a little put out saying she was having a bad day, but she got someone. The second cashier said the code usually comes in right away and she could do nothing about it. With a long line of customers I just paid and left.
They should have a backup plan for this type of circumstance. If not, they should not advertise to get people to spend at least $10.00 when they might not otherwise.
