I came across Baskins web site on the internet and was impressed by there inventory and prices seemed decent. I needed a truck to pull a trailer to Canada and was in a hurry so after talking on the phone with a salesman i made the mistake of wiring the money for the truck. I get there and immediatly regret it but they make you sign a paper right away so you cant return the truck or get your money back. The truck was supposed to be in great condition... it was a wreck!! i go 1/2 a mile down the road for fuel, walking around the truck i just happened to touch one of the steering lug nuts and found 8 out of the 10 nuts loose, spun em with my fingers. I go back to the dealer and he just shrugs it off and says well tighten em. This truck was not road legal by any means no gauges worked, it had been spaypainted over rust and mud,got into indiana and fueled up fuel started running out halfway up the tank. I hooked up the trailer there and the lights wouldnt come on, the 7 wire cord was freshley taped up with electrical tape so i opened it and the wires werent even connected!!! I really started checking nuts for tightness and found a bunch of loose nuts holding the fenders to the hood and the air cleaners to the truck. I tightened all that crap up and drove to south dakota where i noticed fuel over the whole truck. The fuel pump was ready to fall off so i got that fixed. Drove to north dakota and 6 manifold bolts snapped off at this time i just kept going till i got home. It cost me 12,000.00 just to fix the basic stuff nevermind the engine and powertrain which needs more help. I specifically tolf the salesman i was making a 3000 mile trip and he said the truck was ready to go, ''a good un''. Once they have your money they do their best to ignore you. The owner is a version of boss hogg running around on his golf cart hollering at the illegal mexicans hes got worken there. I sincerley regret going to Don Baskin Truck Sales. I just Hope these people repent of what their doing because theres a special place in hell waiting for them.
