The following statement is my account of dealing with Don Franklin ford in London KY.

On September 6, 2013 my son ran my F-150 in a ditch so it needed some repairs.

I had it towed to Don Franklin Ford in London KY,Don franklin Ford then had the repair work subbed out to a local repair shop.

In October i went to Don franklin ford to pick up the vehicle after repairs were complete, I was then told the vehicle had frame damage and they didnt want to see me drive off the lot with it because it was unreliable.

They said they could order me a new vehicle, I told them it had to be just like my other vehicle, but the color could be different, but I had to have the same options (heat and cool seats and a navigation system) they said it would,

They then asked if i wanted them to go ahead and order it, I said yes and would be back in the morning to pick it up.

That evening the repair shop that did the work on my wrecked F-150 called to verify I knew they had finished repairs on my vehicle. I then mentioned how the frame was bent, they said what bent frame? Your truck doesnt have a bent frame, it is perfectly fine to drive.

When I returned the next morning to pick up the new F-150, I confronted the salesman, he said the GM had paperwork stateing the frame was bent on my repaired vehicle.

They offered me $30,000 for a $44000 truck, I told them I wanted $32000, they finally agreed. I used the X-Factor through the Disabled American Veterans Association, Which is a discount toward the purchase of a new vehicle for disabled veterans.

I asked the salesman several times if the options were on the new vehicle, the salesman assured me they were.

My wife even heard the salesman say the options were on the new vehicle.

I am 100% disabled through the Veterans Adminstration, ( night parachuting accident and injuries during the Grenada Invasion in 1983) so I need these options (heat and cool seats) because my legs go numb while driving due to a torn disk in my lower back along with a reconstructed ankle. the H&C seats help with the pain and allow me to drive further distances. The navigation system is needed because I am always getting lost, confused and turned around due to my PTSD. the PTSD has affected my memory, I get confused easliy and have panic attacks, the navigationj system gives me direction and helps me get to my loction, especially when navigating through Lexington KY going to and from both VA hospital facilities.

Well I signed for the vehicle and took it home. I then found out there was no navigation system and the seats were heating only.

I returned to the dearership the next day and complained, I told the salesman the navigation download chip was missing from the glove compartment, the bag it came in was there but had been ripped open and the chip was missing, the salesman said come back Monday.

I returned Monday, the salesman said all the F-150 Lariats come with the navigation system. He then brought out another download chip, but the vehcile computer system wouldn't accept it, He went back inside the dealership, to talk with someone, he then returned and said it would cost me $2000.00 to have the navigation system installed.

And they wouldn't discuss the heat and cool seat issue.

I have contacted the KY Attorney Generals Office and filed a complaint, but the General Manager at Don Franklin Ford told the attorney generals office they informed me the new vehicle didn't have the H&C seats and navigation system and I was happy with that.

I received a letter from the salesman saying they want me to come in and talk with the GM before I fill out the Ford survey on line.

Well I filled out the Ford survey and told them what I think of Ford.

I received a letter from the main office in Dearborn Michigan stateing they are looking into this.

I may contact my congressman and see if the VA can help me get these options on my new F-150.

The VA will pay for options a disabled Vet needs, but I dont like to use the VA for these things and try to pay for them myself.

But I already paid for these options once when I purchased this $48,000 truck, I can't afford to pay again.

I believe I will have to make due with what I have, nothing will be done.

But I will make sure all my family and friends know of my dealings with Don Franklin Ford.

And I will never buy another Ford product.

Being a Veteran Has NOTHING To Do With This!

AUTHOR: Jim - ()

POSTED: Saturday, November 23, 2013

YOU took delivery of the car WITHOUT inspecting it to determine if the car was exactly as YOU ordered it.  Without regard to this being an actual attempt to defraud you or was an honest mistake...the FINAL line of defense is YOU.  What did the paperwork documenting your order say?  Did you read it BEFORE agreeing to it?  Finally, this sort of problem can happen to ANYONE who fails to read before they sign, check before they agree etc.  Being a Veteran has NOTHING to do with it!  Mistakes and deliberate attempts to defraud are perpetrated on anyone without regard to being a Veteran.  No, I don't work for them.
