Fast forward to 10/20/07 I was returning from a camping trip and the car starts lurching violently and making horrible noises. I took the car to a trusted mechanic since Don McGill already had their shot at things and apparently failed miserably. The mechanic calls me back this afternoon and tells me that the transmission has almost no fluid in it and that the transaxle is toast (time for a new transmission). So in about a week from now, and $1200 later I should have a running vehicle.
