There are various ex employees of the Plattner Corporation aswell as current employees who are just fed up!!! He does not appreciate the employees that work hard to keep his dealerships from going under and he definetly does not appreciate his loyal employees that go to bat for him to keep him out of jail for all the illegal things he tries to get away with.
Unfortunately, many of his employees need their jobs and are forced to lie and decieve everyone from customers,to vendors and even his own friends and family. There are a few of us who have just been pushed to the very end of our ropes and just DO NOT CARE anymore.
This man must be taught a lesson and be put behind bars! I would say let us close his 11 semi dealerships but I think he would like that too much because he is cheap and refuses to pay out any monies owed, even to the government.
Just this past week he has managed to loose one of his ONLY honest and respectful General Managers aswell as 5 other employees because he decided they didn't deserve to receive their bi weekly (hard earned) pay check.
Personally, if I worked hard for my pay check and did not receive it I would be knocking on his door! Mr.Plattner refused to answer his phone and/or emails because he knew he had upset quite a few people. He is a COWARD!!!
Many of us believe that he does this sort of thing(not paying his employees) because it forces them to quit and being that these people do not have the funds to sue him...he continues to do it over and over again.
We are asking that anyone who has ties to the legal world to please respond to these RIPOFF complaints and give us some sort of advice. Complaints have already been reported to the media and the State of Florida is next.

It is amazing that this guy is still up to his old tricks. He mentions "one" employee....HA.....I had 5 at my little location. If I wasn't dodging creditors or listeniing to complaints I was fighting for my pay. Then I had to explain why we didn't sell anything....

Doug Plattner wanted to hire me for His Tarpon Springs location. He told me to book my flight and rental car and hotel and he would pay for it all. He said he would reinburse me when I met him at the interview. So I did and guess what he never gave me a penny. He changed his story at the interview and said he would reinburse me if He hired me. Of course He need to see me right away and the flight was over 1000.00 So Mr. Plattner lied then and refused to take any calls from me after that. Mr Plattner has a history of screwing anyone and everyone. I thank God I did not go to work for this A******.

Is the guy has not paid you, gather your documentation & call the U.S. Dept of Labor. This avenue may take some time, but the feds have gotten him before and they are very familiar with his organization. This time last year, they nailed him for $71,000.00+. He is lucky he is in Florida & not some other states. Some other state labor departments not only get what you are owed, but also tack on penalties for every day that an employer does not pay you after the fact.

Any luck with the legal aspect on getting Doug and Marcie?
i left 3 weeks ago and not only does he still owe me thousands he pretty much screwed anyone that worked with me the 4 1/2 months i was at Belle Glade.
If you find a way to after him let me know ill be there with bells on.
I am reporting him to the Labor Board on Friday if he doesnt answer me, but i have a feeling thats been done a hundred times with him to no effect.

Get real, you know you've ripped off your employees, vendors, and God only knows who else. The banks don't even want to deal with you any more. At least be honest, you have no use for your employees as they are just a commodity to you and have no value, as they can be replaced easily. At least for once in your life be honest and treat the people who watch over millions of your dollars fairly pay us what its worth to watch over your millions. Thats too much to ask I don't think.

It is a shame to see what one unhappy ex employee can do to the reputation of
a major Florida Automotive group. We have 11 stores including new General Motors Franchises as well as Dodge Chrysler Jeep franchises. The Plattner Automotive Group strives to treat all of our employees with respect and dignity. However in an organization of our size it is only a matter of time until someone leaves our employe feeling unhappy or that they were somhow treated unfairly. Anonymous postings are not fair as we cannot research the complaint and respond to actual events.

I TOO WORKED FOR THIS JERK AND I AM SURPRISED NOONE HAS TAKEN ANY ACTION AGAINST HIM YET. I SAW THIS GUY SCREW SMALL VENDORS OUT OF MONEY OVER AND OVER AGAIN. HE WOULD THREATEN THEM WITH A LAW SUIT KNOWING THEY COUDN'T AFFORD TO FIGHT IT. I GUESS I WAS ONE OF THE FORTUNATE ONES BECAUSE AFTER TWO CALLS I GOT MONEY, BUT I QUIT RIGHT AFTER THAT. I WAS NOT GOING TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN.
HOPEFULLY NO ONE PURCHASES ANY VEHICLES FROM HIS TARPON SPRINGS DODGE LOCATION. THE SALES DEPARTMENT IS A JOKE. I KEEP IN CONTACT WITH SOMEONE THERE AND HIS NEW G.S.M IS A TOTAL PUTZ! HE BARELY KNEW HOW TO DO HIS ORIGINAL JOB AS A FINANCE MANAGER AND HERE THEY GO AND MAKE THE MAN THE MANAGER OVER A WHOLE STORE.
