Douglas Lambert - Orbit Telecom Placed a $14.95/ month charge on my At&t phone bill without my permission for some kind of "voice mail" service. Plantation Florida

I discovered an odd fee of $14.95 on my AT&T phone bill. I called the number listed to dispute the fee. The operator told me that it was some kind of voice mail service that I had contracted for over the internet. I informed her that I did not do so. She argued with me, insisting that I had, and wanted personal information that I did not provide her. I insisted that she cancel the account and send me written confirmation. She kept wanting my email address which I refused to provide.

To my surprise I did get written confirmation. Strangely, the address on the letter is 8201 Peters Road, Ste 1000, Plantation Florida 33324. However, the address sticker on the envelope is Douglas Lambert dba Orbit Telecom, 701 North Green Valley Parkway, Sutie 200, Henderson NV 89604 (89704 is actually Washoe Valley NV, 89009 is Henderson). The postage meter stamp indicates that the letter was mailed from zip code 10022-- a New York address. Very strange.

The letter notes a "valid email address" and a computer IP address as security and verification. The email addresss they noted is not mine, the name does not match mine in the slightest, and appears to be a uk individual (I am in Michigan). I don't know my IP address to know if the number they indicated was mine or not, but I doubt it.

Now I will have to see if the charges are actually reversed.
