My negative review of Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD - Oregon Providence

He appears to have a poor reputation for providing lackluster care and attention to detail. I heard from another local doctor who warmed me about Dr. Joshua Johnson.

Despite these warnings and reading some negative information online about Dr. Joshua L. Johnson I decided to schedule an appointment and see for myself if he was good or poor like people are saying. Turns out I made a mistake and should have saved my money and time for another Doctor who could actually help me instead of turning me away.

Here is my opinion and review of Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD who practices out of Oregon through Providence. I don't want other innocent patients to have to go through what I did with Dr. Johnson.

I was upfront with Dr. Johnson and said I didn't want to waste his time or mine if he wasn't fluent with my disease Autonomic Small Fiber Neuropathy.

After talking with him briefly it became apparent he was just another generic neurologist with no specialized understanding of Autonomic Small Fiber Neuropathy.

Furthermore, Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD asked what triggered my symptoms and I explained usually only after I consume neurotoxins such as MSG and aspartame. However, he acted totally oblivious to the fact that MSG and aspartame even exist. It was clear I knew much more than him regarding this subject and it seemed he felt somewhat inferior.

What's more, we were briefly discussing my syringomyelia tumor in my spinal cord. I explained we've been doing yearly cervical MRI's to monitor the syrinx. My confidence level in him declined even further when he said "why do you have to do a yearly MRI of your syrinx?" I had to explain to him we do this yearly imaging to make sure the syrinx is stable and to confirm it is not growing. 99% of well educated nueros know if you have a syrinx it's prudent to monitor it yearly or bi-yearly to ensure it remains stable.

It seems clear Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD who practices out of Providence in Oregon is lacking some basic understanding of Neurology and should perhaps go back to med school instead of wasting his patients time and money. That's my opinion.

One of the primary issues I wanted to discuss was my bladder since it still has a major impact on my sleep. He rudely said "I don't do bladders". I then asked him for a referral to a urologist. He then declined to give me one. How rude is that?

Shortly after our conversation about the bladder he threw his arms up and rudely said
"I CAN'T HELP YOU". I then got up and left the room quietly.

There are good doctors and bad doctors. It is my opinion Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD is a "BAD" one.  I don't want other well educated people in need of quality health care wasting their time and making the same mistake myself and others have made.

Thank you for reading.

Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD is HORRIBLE - Oregon Providence

AUTHOR: Chad - ()

POSTED: Sunday, November 24, 2013

My negative review of Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD - Oregon Providence

Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD appears to have a poor reputation for providing lackluster care and attention to detail. I heard from another local doctor who warned me about Dr. Joshua Johnson in Newberg, OR.

Despite these verbal warnings and reading multiple negative reviews online about Dr. Joshua L. Johnson I decided to schedule an appointment and see for myself if he was lacking the basic knowledge needed to be a relevant Neurologist for this day and age.  Turns out I made a critical mistake and should have saved my money and time for a more educated Neurologist who could actually help me instead of turning me away disappointed.

I don't want other innocent patients to have to go through what I did with Dr. Johnson.  Therefore, below is my targeted review to the hundreds or even thousands of Neurological patients in the Oregon/ Washington who WILL see this and are seeking out a Neurologist.

Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD practices out of Oregon through Providence. Dr. Johnson’s online reputation is horrible. I’ve never seen a doctor with such a poor rapport with his formal patients.  He clearly didn’t connect with his patients in any sort of way.

Based on his poor reputation, I’ve concluded that most of his former patients all seem to agree Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD is lacking good ETHICS, HONESTY and INTEGRITY.

This type of poor work ethics says one thing: “Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD” only cares about MONEY.

Please allow me to explain a few of my own complaints about the appointment I had with Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD.

I was upfront with Dr. Johnson and said I didn't want to waste his time or mine if he wasn't fluent with my disease Autonomic Small Fiber Neuropathy.

Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD mislead and tried to dupe me into thinking he was confident discussing Autonomic Small Fiber Neuropathy.  However, after talking with him briefly it became apparent he had ZERO understanding of Autonomic Small Fiber Neuropathy.

Furthermore, Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD asked what triggered my symptoms and I explained usually only after I consume neurotoxins such as MSG and aspartame. However, he acted totally oblivious to the fact that MSG and aspartame cause neurological symptoms at all. He looked at me as if I was crazy or something.

A quick Google search of the exact search term “Do Neurotoxins Cause Neurological Symptoms” reveals 1,020,000 relevant websites that clearly reveal that Neurotoxins DO Cause Neurological Symptoms.  That's over ONE MILLION RESULTS.

It was apparent he was in the dark and I knew much more than Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD regarding this subject and it seemed he felt somewhat inferior.  I quickly moved on to the following topic which also serves as proof Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD is not properly educated in the basic facets of Neurology and should not be practicing and misleading patients.

We started discussing my syringomyelia tumor inside my spinal cord at the C6-7 level. I explained we've been performing yearly cervical MRI's to monitor the syrinx and I requested that he order my follow up MRI’s when they were due.  Again, he displayed a funny look on his face and rudely asked me "why do you have to do a yearly MRI of your syrinx?" I had to explain to him we do this yearly imaging to make sure the syrinx is stable and to confirm it is not growing. 99% of well-educated neurologists know if you have a syrinx it's imperative to monitor it yearly or bi-yearly to ensure it remains stable.

After my confidence in Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD reached an all-time low I was apprehensive about bringing up the final topic.

I decided to bring it up even though I already concluded he was lacking crucial information to properly serve his neurology patients.

The final topic was I wanted to discuss was my Neurogenic bladder dysfunction since it has a negative impact on my sleep. Dr. Johnson mislead me into thinking he was educated on Autonomic small fiber neuropathy. If he was truthful and properly educated he would have known that “Neurogenic bladder dysfunction” is one of the primary symptoms of Autonomic small fiber neuropathy.

Instead of being honest with me about his knowledge on the topic he rudely said "I don't do bladders". I then asked him for a referral to a urologist. He then declined to give me one.  How wrong is that?

These types of things happened during the whole appointment.

It seems clear Dr. Joshua L. Johnson who practices out of Providence in Oregon is lacking some basic understanding of Neurology and should perhaps go back to medical school instead of misleading patients.

It’s pretty sad when the patient knows more than the doctor regarding their neurological disorder.

This is the MOST under-educated and RUDE doctor I’ve ever experienced. I don't want other well educated people in need of quality health care wasting their time and making the same mistake myself and others have made.

I will also be contacting the Providence Medical Group headquarters to share my concerns and make them aware of Dr. Joshua L. Johnson’s lack of understanding of these critical health issues and cold demeanor.

If I were Providence I would not want Dr. Joshua L. Johnson, MD representing my business in any way. I don’t think Providence Medical Group should have any type of doctor represent them with such poor work ethics as Dr. Joshua L. Johnson.

Additionally, I will PERMANENTLY append this review to Dr. Joshua L. Johnson’s Google profile among other online authority sites as an ongoing effort to inform the thousands of potential patients in Oregon/Washington of his POOR WORK ETHICS, lack of knowledge and rude demeanor.

Thank you for reading.
