To sum it up in a nut shell it all started in November 2009 less than six months after purchasing my vehicle without a warranty my vehicle needed some car repairs. Prior to the repairs my loan was just sold over to Drive Financial in August 2009; therefore, I didn't want this to be a bad reflection of me so I called in and made arrangement with a CSR.
At that time speaking w/ the rep we decided that a double payment will be made when the next payment was due. Mysteriously, back in December the company acts as if they were not aware of the prior arrangements. We fuss on the phone for a while but I didn't make too much of a big deal because I knew I owed the monies. At that time, I made a payment x2 and the entire alleged late fee of $26.60.
The CSR assured me this payment will bring my account totally current and the next payment will be due in January. Honestly, I didn't look for the late fee on my January's statement so I just sent my payment in but I noticed on my February's statement another late fee was applied so I called Drive to question them.
Now, you are not going to believe what the CSR said to me next. When I questioned him he told me when I made the payment x2 and the late fee together they didn't realized the remaining $26.60 was for the late. You don't want to know what I said but he then said I will need to first bring my account current and check back to make sure the payment has post. Once the payment post to the account, I must then send another $26.60 late w/ a letter explaining to Drive this money order and/or check should be applied to my late fee only. Unfortunately, it didn't end there after I did exactly what was ask of me this fee is still on my account today.
This is not even the worst part, at the same time I found out this late fee has never been handled I get another late fee from the company. Along with the fees my payment was returned along with a letter from the company. The letter reads Check damaged in mail. First of all, this was not a check; unfortunately, this was a money order. They sent the damaged money order back to me with this letter blaming it on the mail carriers. Acting as if they didn't get my payment on time and said it was my responsibility that the payment is late. Half of the bottom numbers are ripped off and if you ask me whoever had my open my envelope rip it. Unfortunately, I had to make good on the payment and I still haven't gotten compensated from Money Gram for my money order (30 to 60 days). I wish I can go into more detail but I can write about them forever. It is beyond my control because I have three words for them Better Business Bureau. Even better four more words State Consumer Protection Agency.
