Drive time hell
AUTHOR: Shawna - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, January 22, 2013
The transmission is another story in itself. First I was told to take the car to ashop near my home. I paid the 50 dollars and then was told that I needed to take the vehicle to another city 30 miles from my home. While there, I found out that my vehicle had transmission problems with it before it was sold to me and that Drivetime was aware if this problem. They had sent the vehicle in to have the transmission fixed before putting it in their lotto be sold.
I would never purchases vehicle with transmission issues. This was never disclosed to me at the lot. I was showns the car facts report on two occasions while there and both times told there was nothing on the report except for the transfer of title, which was shown to me.
My car was eventually sent from the shop that I dropped it off at to another transmission shop in another city even further away from my home and was never notified that this had happened. A week later got my car back and my car was running exactly as it did before I dropped it off. So I decided to wait and see if the new trans needed to break in, since I was told nothing by the workers at the shop about what they did or didnt do.
Now a month and a half later and my transmission is blown. My car had to be towed which I had to pay for back to the second shop 30miles from my home. I'm going to pay another 50 dollars for something that was never fixed the first time and my window, abs switch nd cruise control are all still broken.
Now it's all amazing for a car that only had 42000 miles on it and only previous owner was the car dealership that owned it before me, at least that's what Drivetime told me.
I want to know what can be done to stop these people from selling crap to people, both in their lots, on the phone nd most importantly in the cars!!!

Total Rip Off!!!!

To top this off, I decided to run a real "CarFax" report on the car myself, and not to my surprise, I found an extensive accident this car was involved in that was not on the "AutoCheck" report from Drivetime. I would have never purchased this vehicle knowing it had been in an extensive accident in the rear.
I called drivetime and asked if I could at least trade within Drivetime to get rid of this piece of crap, and I was advised my loan was not low enough to do so! REALLY? What a rip off. I owe $11,000 on a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer, and I have contacted every dealer I can in the Atlanta area that advertises "No Matter What You Owe", and they cant even help me.
I am extremely interested in the class action suit that you are referring to!

Drivetime has unfair practices and are ripping people off
AUTHOR: jcmama - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Friday, December 28, 2012
They refused to take the money & stated I will have to return the car if the check does not clear. My bank stated that they could run the check a 2nd time & that it would clear. So I waited to see if they would run it again. But they never attempted to run the check again.
I received several calls & emails thanking me for my business after that. Then on December 17th after my first car payment was taken out of my account, I received a call about the $2,000 check and the caller "Sarah" stated that she would call me back in 2-3 hours after she talked it over with her boss about any possible resolution.
I then received 2 more thank you calls that week from Drivetime on the purchase of my new vehicle. Then without any notice on December 22nd they repossessed my vehicle. They refuse to refund my money or let me reconcile the matter in any way. But they reassured me that I could get another car with them in 6 months, as if...
It does not seem fair that they can take my money & my car. It is also not fair for them not to allow people to cover a banking error. I am very interested in a lawsuit!

class action on drivetime
AUTHOR: mcshannon2004 - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Monday, April 23, 2012
I called back at 5:30 p.m. to give them the confirmation number to the credit card payment. I was informed by another rep that the woman I had to give the information to was away from her desk, and he would email her my confimation number, and have her call me back. At about 10 minutes to 6(my time) I called her back, since I still hadn't heard from her. At that time she said it was too late, and that they would refund my payment in 7-10 days.
I asked to speak to a manager. He never did give his name, but he was extremely rude, and informed me I should have called before making the payment to make sure that it would be accepted. I told him I did exactly what she told me to do, and within the time frame given. He said it didn't matter, and that it had already been turned over to the repossession company, and they couldn't take it back.
So if you're able to get a class action suit started then by all means count me in, somebody needs to do something with these people. Their business practices leave a whole lot to be desired.

Class Action Lawsuit Against DT Corporation
AUTHOR: Georgia - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, November 09, 2011
I did a voluntary repo. The original cost of the car was close to $14,000.00 and when they sent it to auction they say that they only rec'd $5000 for it at auction which means that I now still owe on a car that does not exist anymore over $8000.
I have family members that work at the car auction here in Tampa FL and know that if this car made it to auction they made more than this on it but I cannot get them to show me that is all they sold the car for.
I think that it is a crying shame that there is a company out there that would take advantage of people like this in this kind of economy. I am a single parent and was recently divorced when I made the mistake of going into DT to get a car. Now my credit is being destroyed and this needs to stop.

I am not happy with my experience with DriveTime. I entered into a contract with DriveTime to buy a 2002 Dodge Caravan in October 2007. Within two days of having the vehicle the engine light came on, the arm rest and other parts of the car fell off or came apart. We contacted DriveTime with regards to the problem and was told that we could not return or exchange the vehicle. DriveTime threatened if we return the car, it would be a repossession. Placing the loan cost to our credit reports. We were stuck. There was a warranty but when I took the car to their approved mechanic, their warranty did not cover the costs. The engine light is still a problem to this day. My husband and myself are unable to afford the cost to fix. Also I bought a 2002 Dodge Carivan SE for over litte over $20,000 in 2007. Market value at that time was between $8,000 or $9,000.

I would really like a part in the class action lawsuit. I am in the beginning stages of returning my vehicle that I purchased from Drive Time and I just know there is going to be trouble.
I am doing a voluntary Repo on the vehicle that I purchase back in December of '08. The problem that I am having is the motor on this vehicle is about to go and since it is past the "160 Days" that they "give you" as coverage on repairs they want ME to take it to a mechanic in my area (who will not deal with Drive Time) and then charge me for fixing the problem. When I spoke to 2 ASC Certified mechanics (both with multiple certification) regarding this problem they stated it was going to cost me several thousands of dollars. Both mechanics stated that returning the vehicle was in my best interest. I do not want a part of this scam to soak me out of what I don't have.
I am scared that this will go on mine and my husbands credit as a regular repo and that is not the case. I have always been on time with my payments and even pay more than the amount that I have to just to keep my account looking sharp. I will not fall for their scams and BS. If I have any chance of being a part of your class action suit please contact me and let me know.

Why? Because you have no case. No attorney would take these guys on...because they've done nothing illegal. No one forced any of you to buy the cars, and I guarantee that if you had paid on time no one would have called and "harassed" you.
These problems are your own fault. Grow up and move on.
I defy ANY of you to post the attorneys name you supposedly spoke with and what he/she said.

Willing to Join Class Action
AUTHOR: Krystal - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, May 19, 2009
My problems got worse when I got another job and my paydates changed. I notified them several times that I no longer got paid on the dates originally set up and needed to change my due dates and was told that because I owed them for the insurance they could not change my due date. Again for months we went round and round about me not owing them for the insurance and I informed them that since they would not change my due dates I would make payments according to my new pay schedule(this made my payments about a week late). I got called every single day and again they called my job and references. In Feb of this year I finally found an employee that was willing to help me and had me come down and sign a loan modification and change my due dates. At that time I was told that they were showing some of my payments as past due and so they deferred 3 of my payments. Or so I thought. The contract I signed said that my next payment was not due until around the 21st of Feb and all payments from Dec to Jan were being added to the back of my loan. I knew at the time it was b/s, but I was tried of seeing them on the caller id and having my relatives in Texas tell me they called.
I recently tried to get another car and was told that Drivetime has reported me as making 6 payments 30 days late or more. Not the total monthly payment, but the two week payments. I checked my credit report in 01/2009 and saw that they had me late only in Nov of 2008, so imagine my surprise when I see that in May of 2009 they are now saying Ive been late every month since Aug 2008. I reviewed my bank statements and found all the payments i have made to them and while some may have been a few days late, none were 30 days, in fact I even doubled up payments or made payments and a half to catch up, but they claim I was only making larger payments on certain dates and those payments didn't apply to what they showed as being late. I was told by the other dealer that my credit score has gone from around 600 to a high 400 because of the way they have been reporting my payments. The dealer even said he can't see how I would even still have the car if what they said was correct. I am trying to get another car and put my severly upside down p.o.s. on top of my new purchase, but because of my credit score in todays market im having a very hard time. I never would have thought that buying a car to help build my credit and making the payments would ruin my credit the way it has.
If it was "as is", the seller is not responsible...you are.
You have the option to have your car checked by a mechanic prior to any purchase, In some states you have to sign a paper that clearly states that you agree to take the car AS-IS.
Finance companys DO NOT want to repo your car, They are willing to work with you with in reason, once a car is repo the car is sent to the auction and it is sold for almost nothing.
Next time you should ask your self a simple question. If this would be your company would you lend someone like yourself w/ poor credit history, No employment history, low income, skip hazard ect... any of your money.
The smart people use companys like dt and others for their benifit they pay thier cars on time for 6months to a year and trade them in to a franchised dealership for a new car with low intrest once they have shown they can pay the payments on time and rebuid their credit.

Been ripped off too by Drive Time, caught payment up and repoed car anyway at my sister's leaving me stranded in another town where my sister lives
AUTHOR: Pam - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, January 22, 2009
When my boyfriend got his car, drive time decided (on there own) that they were going to co-sign him onto his moms car (without his consent.) He was 17 at the time his mom got her car which made him too young to be a co-signer. And he was only 18 when he got his car from them. They didn't even bother to tell him that they decided to put him as a co-signer. He found out on his own when his mom was a week or so late on her bill and one of their agents called his phone 7 TIMES IN A ROW leaving some not-so-nice messages demanding that he is the one responsible for the payment (because he's the co-signer) if his mom can't come up with it.
i have heard nothing but bad things about drivetime so i thought i would share my boyfriends story becuase im sure they have done the same thing to someone else before.
the DeLand location was even shut down becuase they were ripping off so many people.

I suggest a REALITY check here. Think about these things. Use some common sense.
AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, August 17, 2008
However, being scum is not illegal.
As long as they do full disclosure on the terms of the sale, they have no other legal obligation to you.
Someone complained about the 29% interest rate. Well, nobody held a gun to your head to do the deal, right? YOU agreed to it. Fully disclosed.
These cars are sold "AS-IS" in most cases. That too is CLEARLY DISCLOSED.
And, there is a reason like your crummy credit that you are dealing with DriveTime in the first place! If I am wrong on this, why not just go to your bank for the loan?
Again, just a reality check here.
Many of the people who posted here are borderline illiterate, and that could be the root of the problems. Maybe you could not read and understand the contract you were signing.
As far as "class action" lawsuits go, they are VERY expensive and rarely does any attorney do them on contingency fee basis, and rarely does any member of the class action recieve more than a few dollars after expenses.
A class action lawsuit against a giant like Drive Time would most likely cost millions of dollars in cost alone, which you would have to pay, up front.
Only the uneducated spout "class action".
Avoid these places and you will have no problems. Buy a cheap used car for cash out of the newspaper or someone's front yard. Go to the GoodWill and buy a car.
If you cannot save up $500-$1000 to buy such a car, you cannot afford to be on the road anyway. Take the bus.

In August of 2007 we were given my Grand Father's 1998 Ford Focus which ran much better then the 2003 Malibu, mothball smell and all! We used the Focus for a few months until a car accident rendered the car un-drivable. Boo!! So in March we had to start using the unreliable Chevy Malibu again. Month after month different things started to go wrong. The exhaust manifold had a crack, the back tail lights stopped working all together, the horn stopped honking, the hoses for the anti-freeze were cracking, and finally the head gasket needed to be replaced.
Not once did Drive Time try to help us out; even after numerous calls to the GM. We felt like we were drowning and had no way out of the situation. We are a young couple and there is no way we can afford to pay to get all those things fixed.
My brother happens to be a lawyer in a very high powered law firm down town and his wife happens to be a lawyer too. Guess who is considering a law suit against these jerks? I also happen to work for a very large media outlet. Hmmmm...
Contact me with your story and maybe we can get something going. It's unlawful to get cars that are lemons, paint over problems, fix things in order for the car to run for a little bit, and sell the car to people who already have money or credit problems. Drive Time banks on the fact that the Lemon Laws don't apply towards used cars.
It's time for this to stop.

Bad Service is ignored by Art Anderson when confronted he threatens you.
AUTHOR: Tony - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, July 28, 2008
The latest trick by the corporate service GURU Lance and his trusty sidekick Art Anderson is to tell the dealerships that they have to check a car in when it comes to the lot and that they only have 24 hours to report any mechanical problems or they are stuck with any repair costs. You are not even allowed to have your lot porter check in the cars. Heck he/she might have some sense of mechanical ability like Jimmy at my lot did. You have to trust your sales people to do it male or female experienced or not. That is who is final checking in your vehicles.
Many of the GMs would argue constantly that the buyers had no idea what they were doing. We would get like $1200 for a trade in and then next week the same year make and model would show up on a lot for sale at like $12000. HMMMMMMMM!!!!! Want some very interesting reading?? Google the names of the two biggest people in the company. See what they have been up to in the past. WOW!!!! I had no idea until a Regional told me. All of a sudden I had phone call after phone call from other GMs and Sales managers as well a a call from two friends at corporate. Always wondered when an"on your side" camera crew would finally get smart and blow the lid off of it. Last time on got close there was a conference call from corp about it. Made em nervous I guess.

Then there is the cable service class-action lawsuit, where the victims got either $5, or one month of one free upgrade to their service- after which, I presume their service returned to what it was, or as I understand most cable & satellite contracts, the customer must then pay for the service upgrade for all succeeding months unless they cancel the service upgrade in writing including a note from their mommy.
Remember, the courts do not want to put the defendants out of business. You may remember that oh-so-true story about the goose that lays the golden eggs?

"YOU OWE 1073.00 DUE NOW" Smart A's, so I started checking my payment history and found they didn't deduct my down payment from the original price till 3 months after I had been paying the car so they were charging me interest on money I paid before I bought the car and also a lot of my payments weren't recorded, and with the buy down offer they gave me at the begging, the more you put down on a car the lest interest you are suppose to pay, with no down the interest would be 24.4 and with the 800. down it should have dropped to 21.4, so now I am mad as all on here, I have contacted everyone on here that is local to see if they have any news on a class act and tried to give them my E-Mail to contact me with any infor, It is my name at the bottom of page at yahoo if you hear anything let me know, I have 4 more pages on here to go threw to contact everyone who is local , Please keep in touch... P.S also a woman on here from Georgia stated that she finally got rid of them off her credit reports by going to Lexington Law out of Utah, they cleaned it off for her and 2 other ppl on here said they stopped the harassments from them and there calls by filing a report at WWW.FTC.Gov, to stop the calls to work family and references on your app. Try these both and Lets do this thing. Are we all together? I'm contacting a couple of Class Act attorneys to see if they want a piece of this, once attorneys get involved in this they will notify everyone who has bought a car from them and ask if they would like to join in the suit and we can put them out of business and If you want me to keep you informed send me a message at my E-Mail, Thanks for all the reports on here, its good to know I'm not alone, I have had every single problem you have, but it would take to long to type them all in a report or this rebuttal. In the end we had to do a voluntary reposession, my credit went from a 683 to a 425. this is not right and not fair at all. After a little research we discoverd that we are not the only one with the same problem, there are hundreds more.We dont know what to do. Drive Time ripoff and no gap insurance! Car crooks!
AUTHOR: Tbald1977 - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, September 30, 2007
I went to Drive Time to buy a vehicle on April 25 2007 since I needed a car. I didn't have a way to get to the dealership so Russell Gremillion who is the Sales Associate offered to drive down to my house and pick me up since I had no other way of getting there. The reason why I trusted him is because I had tried to get a vehicle from Don Jackson Mitsubishi in Union City, GA and was approved for a loan.
But Ronnie Hamilton, who is the Sales Associate there sent me to Drive Time and he knows Russell well. They sold me a 2002 Ford Focus ZTS and they overcharged me $6,359.00 more than the car was worth and with an interest rate of 21.5% the total sales price was $21,364.93!
Being that my credit is poor and I really needed transportation to get back and forth to work, I figured I would pay it off in a few years. So I drove the vehicle home since I felt obligated because I was picked up and brought there.
Then on July 21, 2007 I got into an accident and totaled the vehicle. I was insured with First Acceptance and after they had told me my car was totaled, they only paid what the car was worth minus the $500.00 deductible. That was when I found out that Drive Time does not offer Gap Insurance and that they screwed me.
Now at this point I have no other choice but to go back to Drive Time and have them put me into another vehicle. If I go somewhere else to buy a car the remainder of the loan will be tacked on to a new car loan. My roommate talked to Russell Gremillion and he said that he was going to write off the rest of the loan and then put me into another car.
But I will get overcharged a second time and put into the same exact car that I had. The 2002 Ford Focus ZTS is only worth $7,940.00 in the Kelley Blue Book and Drive Time charged me $14,299.00 which is almost double. I want to know if they can get away with doing that. Because I really know for a fact that they took advantage of me.
My concern is that they may fall back on their word and try to tack the $7,000 on to the new loan making my car payments $700/month. I do not trust Drive Time and feel that I shouldn't have to be obligated to go back to a place that took advantage of me. What they charged me for that car I could have bought two cars for that price because even a brand new Focus isn't worth that much in the Kelley Blue Book.
I know that part of this is my fault because I never researched on the car and signed the contract being that I was stuck there and had no way of getting home. But even if Drive Time could get away with overcharging their customers double what the cars are worth, they need to get real and get gap insurance.
Also another thing they told me after I bought the car is that I had 30 days to come up with more funds to reduce the interest rate and lower my bi-weekly payments, which were $197.83 every other week. But they never told me about the APR rate.
My roommate figured out that $700 more down would have only brought my payments down $7.00! If I had let them trick me like that, I would have put myself even more in debt than I already was.
This is why I feel very uncomfortable to have to go back to Drive Time. I feel that if they took advantage of me, then I should have the right to go somewhere else and buy a used car without getting ripped off the way I did. I had no idea that Drive Time used to be the Ugly Duckling.
My question is this: is it now too late to open my mouth when I go back to Drive Time? Can I let them know that they overcharged me and that I shouldn't have to pay double what the car is worth? If anyone has advice for me it would greatly be appreciated!

Guess who brings car buyers to the "Scene of the Slime" so they can get Ripped Off?
AUTHOR: Stick - Auto Advocate - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, May 17, 2005
Most car buyers can't read the supper small disclaimers in the TV advertisements because they are to f***ing small and they only have the supper small print up for maybe 2 seconds. It is a shame that our country's AG's don't bust car dealers for deceptive and misleading advertisements. I guess money from car dealers goes to a special place come election time.
We then have to chat about radio station advertisements. Ever notice in most if not all car dealer radio advertisements they have some fast talking clown read of the disclaimers real fast.
My question is where do the radio stations find these speed readers? Is there a speed reader talent agency that finds these clowns jobs?
Ever notice when flipping through the stations on your radio, just about every radio station has a fast talking clown running off a bunch of jibber Jabber that is so confusing. They do it to twist up your thinking before you arrive at the scene of the slime.
We now have to chat about newspaper advertisements. Have any of you in Rip Off Report land ever really look real close to a car dealer's newspaper advertisement? Ever read the disclaimers more then once?
Disclaimers in my mind tell you that you are not going to get the promise. Take a close look at the word "DIS-CLAIMER" There is no claim as to what you are going to get. because it is a DIS-claimer.
TV stations, newspapers and Talk radio stations all benefit just like the car dealer after you get Ripped OFF. You ask how I bet. They all get a piece of your money. Car dealer gets some of your money after the Rip Off and the media gets some before the Rip Off.
TV stations, Newspapers and radio stations that bring you deceptive advertisements also should be mentioned in your Rip Off Report as well as the car dealer who Ripped you OFF. Keep in mind who brought you to the scene of the slime?
Who was it that brought you car buyers to the Rip Off? TV station, Newspapers and radio stations are the ones that lead car buyers to the Rip Off car dealers. If that is the case why not mention the names of the media that lead you to the Rip Off?
If TV stations Newspapers and Radio Stations see they are mentioned in the car dealer Rip Off Reports, maybe they will take a closer look at what they are doing to their readers and listeners. Maybe they will turn down some of that misleading cash they all get from the Rip Off car dealers.
Blame the media for misleading you to a deceptive car dealer. If you are a car buyer that feels you have been Ripped Off by a car dealer post the name of the TV station, Newspaper or Radio Station that helped bring you to the Rip Off Car dealer.
One last note. If you see fine print in any car dealer advertisement, remember this little short saying.
If there is "Small Print" car buyer "Will Get BENT" Over!
Post their names. Post their web sites. Post the Radio stations phone and fax numbers. Never let the media off of the hook. Never forget they lead you to the Rip Off!

UGLYDUCKLING/DRIVETIME should do us all a favor and STOP DOING CORRUPT BUSINESS PRACTICES and advertise the TRUTH.
AUTHOR: Becky - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Sunday, May 15, 2005
In November 2002 I was contacted by Ugly Duckling/drivetime regarding their V.I.P. program. I told the gentlemen I was not interested and so for the next 2 months I was harranged by phone calls regarding the V.I.P. program. I was told since I was such a LOYAL customer I could bring in $1,000 and I would be put into a NEW car with LOWER monthly payments than what I had been making for the past 2 years.
So finally with the allure of a new car I took my $1,000 in and to make a very long story short. I sat there all day long while they wheeled and dealed me and then they found a 2001 ford escort ( NOT a NEW car) that I could have if only I had MORE money to put down. I replied that I had 285 left at home but that was my grocery money. Basically for another hour and a half "LUCY" ( who 2 years ago was unfortunately, for me, not available anymore because she quit) cajoled me into taking the ford escort for a drive...TO MY HOME TO GET THE 285 dollars. So after all the dealing I was left with my grand total to be paid monthly ...$485.00 per month!!!!!! I WAS ASTOUNDED ..DID SHE SAY $485.00 ????!!!! OH YES SHE DID...I was flabbergasted, astonished and SCARED....but i felt i had no choice they had my money ,contracts and my old car...and where is my V.I.P. DEAL???? Its smoke in the clouds..
I am a disabled woman. I work for 14.5 hours a week at 6.75 per hour. I have been late several times. I had to pay almost 700 dollars last month to try and catch up. AND NOW AFTER 2 1/2 years of borrowing, begging, saving, scrimping and doing without I am going to lose this car ....because I cannot keep up with these ridiculously HIGH payments .
I was told by the corporate office that I made a "BAD" business deal. Yes, I replied with a Bad Business.
Yes, I think UGLYDUCKLING/DRIVETIME should do us all a favor and STOP DOING CORRUPT BUSINESS PRACTICES and advertise the TRUTH.
IF YOU HAVE BAD CREDIT OR GOOD CREDIT THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU BUT THEY WILL MAKE SURE THAT THEY GET PAID IN FULL AND 100 PERCENT OVER-PAID.
THESE PAST 2 1/2 YEARS HAVE BEEN THE HARDEST OF MY LIFE and now they are threatening me everyday with repossesion. It is tragic.
Thank you,

Ripped off, but got my money back

After having the car for only 3 weeks, I started having problems with it. I took it to a mechanic that I knew in California and he said it looked like the car had flood damage.
He suggested that I get a report from Car Fax to see what the history of the car was. When I ran the report it showed that the odomoter had been rolled back over 60,000 miles.
I called the Mesa store and told them that I had a car fax report that showed the miles had been rolled back. They asked me to come down and show them the report.
After 2 weeks, I got a check from them with all of my money returned that I had paid, plus a re-imbursement for the rental car that I had for the 2 weeks, and they even paid for the car radio that I had put in the car.
I can say, I would never buy another car from them again because of the outrageous interest rates that they charge, but I am glad that they did right by me by giving me a refund for a lemon of a car that they sold me.

I talked to the salesman, the finance manager, and had the customer service rep look over my contract 30 (thirty) days in advance to avoid any problems. They all said there "wasn't a problem." My contract states "no penalty for early payoff" on TWO different pages. One month after paying off the vehicle IN CASH I recieved a letter from the Corporate office stating I was "disqualified" because I paid the loan off too early. Less than a week my rear lights did not work. When I contacted salesman he said they "just sell the cars, not repair them."
I was in the "get your down payment back if you don't pay late program". I made all my payments on time and paid off the vehicle TEN months early. They claim it was in written in small print on the BACK of a separate "down payment contract".

By that point in time, I told them to come pick up the car. I refused to put any more money it to it and not have it reliable. My husband almost lost his job because of the car always breaking down. The car has sat in my front yard for 2 months now. They refuse to pick the car up but they have no problems calling his refences and letting them know our problems. They also have a problem with calling me and leaving nasty messages on my cell phone, telling that I need to make my husband call them or else. Number one, I am not listed on his loan, we were not married at the time he purchased the car and I was not a referrence.
We have filed for bankrupcy and when they called the last time, my husband informed them of this. They let him know that there was nothing that they can do with that and then they hung up on him. I would love information on a class action against them. They are nothing but rude and rip offs. I have even gone as far as to tell some one off the street who had just purchased a car from them to have a mechanic look at the car. We also went to carfacts.com and found 7 reports against the car. Please let me know if there is anything we can do to join or help.

I asked them to come get there car and they wouldn't and I refused to pay for a car that didn't run so after not getting there money for awhile they finally came with a tow truck in the middle of the night and picked it up.
It is now on my credit report for 6,000 and I never recieved a letter stating that they sold it or it went to auction or so on. And now my husband and I have this on both of our credit reports and were trying to get a mortgage and my broker said this car is really hurting us and that we need to find out if they sold it or what.
I would like to know if you all have any information on who I contact to help you all because I would speak up for all of us and for my family they are scam artists and they need to be put out of business. Thank you

After we got all the paperwork filed, signed, and sent through, we got in our new USED car and left the car lot.
12 o'clock, noon. Rush-hour traffic, new car right? GAH! 10 minutes away from the lot, the car starts to overheat, and we are in a hellified sauna of reflected summer sunlight, dripping humidity, and hot exhaust fumes boiling through the open windows from the caravan of cars all around us. My newborn starts screaming because she is too hot, and then starts coughing because she cannot breathe very well because she is breathing in all the fumes from the cars all around us. I have no way to turn around and get back to the dealership because I'm hemmed in.
Traffic finally lets up a little and we are able to get moving again, and finally the temp. needle starts to go down.
We make it home and i call the dealership and ask if we can bring the car back and get something different because this one has already overheated. They said " No. The paperwork is already signed and processed, and the payments have been made. But, if you want you can bring the car back to the dealership and we will put you in a loaner until yours is fixed"
On and on like this for the next three months: Alternator, Temperature sending unit, throttle position sensor, brakes, etc. I call them with everything that goes wrong and they harrass me about my payments. So I am paying repairs and payments. Finally, I have had enough and I call them to come and get the car because I cant afford it anymore.
" Ok Mr. Couch. We will have someone out to collect it in the next couple of days"
2 weeks later i get a call, " Mr. Couch, what we are going to do is abandon the car and sue you for the remainder of the lein."
I told them that they could damn well try to sue me for that PoS, but no matter how hard they kicked, they weren't gonna get any blood out of a turnip. This was 2 years ago. I havent heard anything else from them, but My credit has a HUGE ding in it from the abandonment and I am forced to keep taking the car with me everywhere I go so that I dont have to pay anything else on it. Even when I have washed my hands of them, they are constantly reminding me, through this complete piece of crap, that are NOT what they claim to be and do not have the capacity for honesty or integrity in business.

My alternator went out, my starter went out and then the whole car (90' Cavalier) went out. This was back in 1998. It was the first car I ever had and boy what a mistake.
Now I have a repo on my credit report and a balance of over $4000 for a car that didn't last one month. When I went car shopping last year the car dealer was familiar with Ugly Duckling's scams and ignored the whole repo.

I, too, am tired of dishing out money to fix this 2001 Kia (haven't even had it a year)and get harassed for making payments on a piece of junk that needs to be in the shop every other week. It's waiting to be towed right now, as a matter of fact.
These people need to be closed down. They are not "user-friendly" and they are very unreasonable.
