DriveTime states they complete a 53 point inspection for saftey of each vehicle it sells. Four months into my purchase, I began to smell fuel after filling up. Brought my vehicle back to their shop, where it was discovered the fuel flex line had been damaged and taped up. This was noticed by merely putting my car on their lift. DriveTime refuses to take responsibility for this much needed repair.
Prior to this incident, I took my vehicle to an oil change facility and walked out paying $400. for work that Drivetime neglected to take care of prior to my sale. When I went to the DriveTime location to complain, they said too bad, I should have gone to their recommended repair shop.
Never will I recommend DriveTime or purchase from them again.

Your problem is time...
AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, October 24, 2009You stated that four months after you purchased it you became to smell fuel after filling up. You took the vehicle to their(Drive Time?) shop where they found the tape. So how can you prove that it was like that four months ago and not something that was done after you bought it?
You stated you went into an "oil change facility" and had to pay over $400 in repairs. Well some of these places are also not known for being the most "up and up" in repairs. It is quite possible that they may have done this. I say this because of your statement that this was so easy to see. So wouldn't this "oil change facility" have seen this and let you know about it then?
Your car was sold "As-Is". If you have something documented that this fuel line was one of the 53-Points you may have a case. IF you can prove that they knew about it.
