I purchased an Olds Alero from this dealership in November 2006, the first thing I noticed was that the drivers window was ready to fall into the door, which the dealer fixed, less than a year of having the vehicle I had 2 things go wrong with the vehicle, the same window problem and the car will not start. I called drivetime and all they would tell me is that the vehicle is no longer under warranty, they then told me to call the manufacturer, the manufactuer told me that the extended warranty drive time purchased on the vehicle was never transferred to my name and that it expired. I told the dealer what I found out, they then told me that it was my responsibility to get it transferred in my name, ( they never told there was a warranty in the first place) so how am I to get it transferred??? they then said if I take the car to an approved repair shop they will help me with the repairs, well I took it there, I was told it would be 766 to repair the vehicle, drivetime then said if I make the down payment on repairs they will then tack the rest of the bill onto my car payment which by the way is 400 a month on a 2002 alero which is blue book value of 2500 ( by the time I am finished i will have paid 13000). Well I paid the down payment picked up the vehicle and again I no sooner park it in my garage it doesn't start again, that was it I told drivetime take the car back because I am not paying another cent. Thats when they threatened to have my wages garnished for the full 13000 I am besides my self and these people have got to be stopped, if there is a lawsuit against them I would like to be a part of it Please !!!

I DIDNT KNOW

AUTHOR: Billcoll01 - (U.S.A.)

THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION FOR PEOPLE THAT DONT KNOW HOW TO NEGOTIATE FOR A CAR. MY ADVICE, NEXT TIME YOU BUY A CAR, TAKE SOMEONE TO NEGOTIATE FOR YOU. WHY DO YOU PEOPLE ALWAYS RESEARCH THE CAR AFTER YOU PAY THE ASKING PRICE? AT LEAST YOU DIDNT GO "THEIR CHARGING ME 115% INT" LIKE ONE LADY DID LAST WEEK. BUT ANYHOW, PAY IT OFF AS FAST AS YOU CAN OR AT LEAST ONTIME & NEXT TIME YOU WONT HAVE SUCH A HIGH RATE. GOOD LUCK

#1 Consumer Suggestion

Call the repair shop, not Drivetime

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, December 16, 2007

If you bought the Alero a year ago you must have known the value of the car at that time. You also signed a contract for $400 a month which is a valid contract. You probably paid an exhorbitant interest rate, too. Nobody forced you into buying a discontinued car from a discontinued maker. Olds died in 2004.

Call the repair shop that YOU have paid $766 to (Driveline didn't help you -they just tacked the price on your payment) and tell them to tow your car back and fix it right. It is not Driveline's problem if your extended warranty has expired. It is yours, and they can sue you for whatever they have left over after they repo the car and sell it (probably for $2,000) at auction. Returning the car and expecting them to void the contract and wave goodbye is a pipe dream.
