Since establishing my credit builder account with their company Dun & Bradstreet employees have given me a slew of excuses as to why they could not provide the service they are selling. Not only that but I have been given different information each time I call about the same issues. After adding the 4 trade references alotted for my account with them I waited the 30 days I was told it would take to build my credit file to find that all but one were declined. Mind you prior to starting my account with them I verified that all the trade references were registered with D&B.
Upon my first call about one of the references I was told their home branch was located in Canada and could not be used. The next day another was declined supposedly due to an inability to contact someone to verify my account with their company. Another of my references has been in verification status since 3/30/2012 while others have been dropped quickly due to inability to contact. Upon calling a few weeks later on 5/25/2012 I spoke with a manager and I was told the reference that was located supposedly in Canada had actually been approved and had just not been added to my profile and I would receive a call the following Monday to follow up which did not happen.
Today I called and spoke with a manager that told me that same reference had been declined and that she didnt know why someone told me what I stated previously from the 25th. I then said to her, "M'am I am not making this stuff up why am I getting the run around?" She followed with, "I'm not sure." Though I have given solid contact info for my references D&B tells me they don't necessarily use it if the third party verification company they use cannot verify it. Funny thing is they keep telling me that they cannot reach anyone to verify my company's information. All they have told me so far is I can resubmit my trade reference(s) again and see what happens. Another trade reference I submitted produced a different problem. A few days after submitting it instead of them receiving the call I received the call and informed the guy calling me that he was calling the wrong number and informed him of what the proper number was. A couple of days later I check my account and notice that reference was declined as well. When I asked today 5/29/2012 why it was declined I was told that the first time they called the number that it was disconnected and that on their second attempt the person hung up on them. Really? Sounds pretty fishy to me especially when they have to verify the information through their third party company yet this time they call me accidentally instead of the company to be called and then take my word on what number to call and still serve up a BS excuse. After reviewing their BBB report I notice that they have had to close 60 complaints in just the past 12 months as well. Out of those complaints 20 were resolved with BBB assistance and that out of the 20 all 20 were not satisfied with the outcome.
I am currently in the complaint process with them and am hoping to be refunded the money I have spent with them so far. I would also like to be paid some for my time I wasted doing their research for them on who to contact and at what number / email but lets be real, apparently they must not even pay their employees and third party verification companies enough to do their jobs properly. If you like paying a company to do absolutely nothing and create unecessary work for yourself give Dun & Bradstreet Credibility Corp. a call, I'm sure they can help.
