Retreived a phone call from my voicemail on Friday night from DRS.  The msg left said only to call this "888" number to resolve a very serious matter.  I was unsure what this could have been about but I did return the call the next morning.  The message I recieved advised the company was closed and the voicemail was full (??????).  I called back the morning of 10/22/12.  When I called I was asked to identify myself with the last 4 digits of my ssn#.

I explained I needed to know who they were and what the matter was about.  I was talked to in a very nasty manner by the female representative who told me I was in jeopardy of being sued if I did not cooperate.  I told her I needed to know the details of who this was and what it was about.  She raised her voice and began to tell me I had not taken care of a debt and I needed to pay ASAP.  I asked for a supervisor and was hung up on.  I called back and asked for a supervisor.

I was placed on hold for about 15 minutes until the call disconnected (not by me).  I called back for a third time and asked for a supervisor and gave the man my name.  I was told by him (the representative) on the line that I had received a payday loan from a internet company known as Payday Max in the amount of $350.00 last year.  I told him I had never heard of the company and certainly had not taken out a loan on line.

He told me I had and I did not pay it back and I would be sued for not taking care of the bill.  I tried telling him I had never authorized this and he explained that he had talked with my bank and they had verified that I had received the funds.  I told him I needed to know who he had talked with at my bank since I had been with this small bank for over 25 years and know just about everyone there.  He said it did not matter who he had discussed it with and I needed to pay my bills.

I told him I did not take out the loan.  He began screaming and talking very quickly.  He soon hung up the phone saying he was going to file ppwk for me to be sued.  I still have little information but am going to my bank this evening to attempt to find out if this is a scam or what.  The call was pure and intentional harrassment.  I have filed a complaint with the BBB.  Not sure if that will help or not.
