I joined for a 3 month period. I kept getting the same matches over and over. When I replyed to a few I did not get a response. Not even "sorrey I'm not interested". I dont think there are that many rude and callus people out therethat someone did not respond with sorrey. I think these people were faked. It is just too expensive for what is provided. I cancled my subscription and they keep sending me e-mails. I checked to remove me from their list but they keep sending them.

The complaint is valid. Eharmony claims they can match you with compatible so the expectation is that they will.
Eharmony commonly matches members with non-paying members who cannot repond or communicate...I suspect as a way to bait non-members into disclosing their financial information. Once they have your money, they claim no responsibily for providing the services they claim they provide.
As a warning....when they try to tell you it takes time--and they will-- don't give them more money. Nothing will change.

How is this a rip off?

Could it be that the people you contacted were simply not interested?
Does e-harmony make any kind of guarantee that you will find your soulmate, get married, and live happily ever after?
Does it really make a difference if someone replies with "sorrey" (sic) or not respond at all? Seeing as how you are concerned with the amount of irrelevent email you receive, one would think that such "sorrey" emails would only annoy you.
Anyway ... I fail to see how this is a rip off. It appears to be simly a case of you not finding anyone you're compatible with on the site. That is life. Get over it and move on.

Linda, can you 'block' email addresses?

Linda, you stated you have asked to be removed from their emailing list, and they continue to email you.
Do you have an option available to block specific email addresses? Also, can you set your spam filter to identify their email address as spam, and do with it as you have your other spam dealt with?
In this case, you did sign up with them, so they know your email address is valid. But with other unwanted emails, if it is totally unsolicited by you, 'opting out' via their email is NOT a good idea. To get an unwanted email and use that business's 'opt out' method may actually be telling that business 'this is a valid email address', and your spam will increase even more.
Blocking specific addresses, and tightening your spam filters are the best methods I've found for eliminating unwanted email, even from businesses I may have initially contacted but no longer wish to hear from.

While I'm not familiar w/ E-Harmony, it's clauses that you likely have to go thru in order to register, & etc. I'll only comment on 1 thing here.
You mentioned how you didn't get responses to some of the matches to wrote to. This doesn't seem to me to be a requirement. The anonymous factor of the internet gives people an 'entitled' feel, if you will, to do things they may not otherwise do, i.e. not respond, respond rudely, etc.
Unless E-Harmony requires the person to respond to each & every mail, then it's foolish to think it's a conspiracy.
