I replied to an ad for an auto inspector off Craig's list, and in return they wanted me to do a test inspection with pictures and a check list to be returned back to them via email, which I did. After that they had emailed me a contract to fill out,before I could fill it out they emailed me back saying they had 100 autos in Kenner which is a rural area north of me, don't guess they thought I knew anything about that area,they also said inspections were for Hertz rental. I called Hertz and the told me they don't have their cars inspected before sale, they send them direct to auction. I told them this and ask for an address to where the cars were and I would drive there on my own and that after I varified they were legit I would be back in touch with the contract info after which he told me that they could just find someone else. The contract they wanted obyained a lot of personal info that could wipe me out. The info was,SS3, Address.home phone #, cell #,text email address , D/L # along with a copy of my D/L. Itold them if they was legit and could just provide me with the address of the auto's and more info on the company I would check them out them send them the info, they give me an web site that provides no infor other than what they say they are, and with looking that up I found where a fraud report had been filed. This should fall under trying to obtain personal info under false pretense.
