Corporate Advocacy Program™
I had 100% positive feedback. Some do not want to deal with people that have any negative feedback.
I bought something from a seller who advertised that he shipped in 24 hours of payment receipt. It was not shipped until five days from payment receipt. I left negative feedback for the false ad.
He retaliated by posting a FALSE negative on me. I went through the eBay procedures to have it removed. They will not remove it. They do not remove any feedback, even if FALSE. They seem to only remove it by court order.
This is wrong and bad business policy.

Simply put....Ebay is not for everyone.
AUTHOR: Starvros - ()
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, April 03, 2013
As a seller I had 2 items out of the 300 that I sold that once the buyer received the item informed me it was not as described. So I made good by giving a full refund and paid return shipping. That is how you handle business and avoid a negative feedback. Most people just want to be made whole again, not extort feedback.
There are unethical buyers and sellers everywhere not just ebay but when you consider the millions and millions of transactions per year ebay deals with it really runs pretty smoothly. There are going to be scammers and disputes now and then and ebay has to take a side but what they would and should not do is protect someone who made a bad decision on their own ..you make a bad decision you have to live with the consequences.
All the complaints about ebay are from disgruntled members or ex members that lost a case, or some perhaps are those that can not conduct a simple online transaction without drama and complaints or no matter where they buy or sell and will always look for ways to blame anything or anyone but themselves for their lousy decisions that no one in any way shape or form forced them to make.

Ebay Feedback Policy
AUTHOR: Lyle j - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, September 25, 2012
Now in 2012, The seller has no way to leave Negative feedback for sellers and even discredit sellers and Hold their funds, when the buyer leaves Negative feedback, even if the Buyer is New and the seller has been selling there for Years!
The Feedback has gotten so unfair for the sellers it is unreal!
And to take it all the way, the seller can send an item in perfect shape, the Buyer can send some old junk back as a return and they will still get there refund!
This Buyers Market, that is unfair to the seller is a design of a greedy person
There are several true events about this I could speak of.
If you would like to hear more: contact Lyle at LDorn920@gmail.com
My husband loves it. He gets frustrated though that he always gets outbid hehe.
Anyhow for the feedback I have noticed that deal too. I always check thier negative feedback, and who posted it. Then I go to the other guy and see if he got negative also, that way you can pretty much tell that if they both gave negative feedback one was probably in retaliation. Then just decide how the rest of the sellers feedback looks to you. Otherwise I think the whole thing is lame. Maybe I'm just not patient enough to search forever for what I want, then wait for the bidding to end when there is no buy it now, and then you have to wait for whoever to ship it to you whenever they want to.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, December 16, 2006
It's to LEARN something. How to spot a scam BEFORE you end up losing any money.
If you look at the sheer volume of complaints about ebay, you can see that something is wrong there.
Christ, there are whole sites devoted to just the ebay scams! And, others that explain how paypal is going to cheat you.
It's much more than just hundreds of complains here. The internet is filled with ebay complaints.
Google ebay fraud. Here's what you get: Results 1-100 of about 25,500,000 for ebay fraud.
Twenty-five million pages of fraud? And, you're gonna sit there and tell me that doesn't mean much?
What more do you need to see before you smarten up?
How many times do you need to hear I got cheated on ebay or paypal stole my money?
Is everyone who sells on ebay a crook? No.
Can you tell who the crooks are? No.
Will you be getting a deal-of-a-lifetime? Probably not. It's a gamble.
Will you ever see me handing over my money to an ebay deal? Of course not.
That's the reality of ebay. At best, it's a gamble. Sometimes, it's a long shot. It's like dropping your money into a slot machine, or buying a scratch-off lottery ticket. Maybe you'll get something back. Maybe you won't. Who can predict?
So, you really need to ask yourself, do you have the extra money to risk? Can you afford the loss? Will you be able to laugh it off when you don't get what you're hoping for?
If the answer to any of those questions is no, then you shouldn't be on ebay in the first place.
It's not really an auction site. It's more like a gambling site.

The thing about condition...
AUTHOR: Rhonda - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, December 16, 2006
What you may consider acceptable, I may only consider fair, or poor. My point is, ebay will never really be able to solve the problem of making everyone happy all the time, just like brick and mortar stores. If you went and asked a shop owner he will tell you that not everyone that shops there is happy.
I do, however, wish that their feedback system was more like ---- auctions, where you only got 1 pt for each person you traded with, not each sale, and you COULD change that feedback if your experience changed, like payment was recieved, or dispute solved. I think there would be a few less "power sellers" out there that don't really deserve to be. The one's that sell stuff for 1 penny just to get their "numbers" up there. But, those are just my opinions.

AUTHOR: Steve - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Monday, March 06, 2006
I have been ripped off by powersellers and those with 99%+ feedback ratings.
Also, look at a NEW seller who is totally honest and makes 3 flawless transactions. They on the 4th transaction, does everything right, but gets the buyer from hell or a scammer trying to say he didn't get merch etc...
That new seller who did everything right would now have a 75% feedback rating.
The entire feedback system at ebay is a scam. It is extortion.
I had one buyer who after 7 days of sale ending, still did not pay. My terms were immediate payment. I gave him 2 full business days, I sent an invoice on the 2nd day, as well as a polite email. He ignored all reminders for a week until I relisted the item for non-payment and gave him negative. He retaliated with negative. I did everything right. Why did I get negative?
I could go on and on, but you get the point, I hope.

SUBMITTED: Sunday, March 05, 2006
I think the feedback on eBay is bad also but not for the reasons people say. I think there should be LONGER messages so your feedback (especially negative) can be more fully explained.
After of 200 purchases, there were only two that I had difficulty with. One was software that turned out to be beta with an "ending" date which it wouldn't work. I gave a neutral and got a nasty email, nothing more. (I found a workaround for it.) Another one, it was paid but I never received the item. I contacted the seller who said he couldn't get another one for the price. I gave negative feedback but got nothing in return.
There are things I can get on eBay that I either can't get anywhere else or at far higher price. I would not buy an item for $1 and pay $140 for shipping! The seller is trying to beat eBay on fees. I have seen things on eBay offered for more than 5 time what it would cost brand new. You have to research the item. Simple as that. Remember, it is an on-line flea market with all of the problems of a regualr fleamarket. As the saying goes, "Let the buyer beware!"

LIke i stated, anyone with less than 98% feedback, should be avoided like a manure heep.
Anyone willingly to do business with somoene who has such low feedback, shouldn't blame others for their mistakes. The feedback clearly shows that he's a questionable seller.
bargainland-liquidation numbers:
Feedback Score: 128155
Positive Feedback: 88.9%
Members who left a positive: 143681
Members who left a negative: 18018
neutral 9150
and this is just for 12 months! This can be confirmed very quickly on the eBay site. Just type in the sellers name as printed above.

There are over 4 million users of ebay; so you're saying that each member has been scammed out of $2 per person per day? I love how you come up with figures that have no basis or turth to it.
Simply a scare tactic.
the only people who "hate" ebay are those who did n't take care to :
1) research the seller before hand (yo'ud be crazy to deal with anyone with less than a 98% feedback)
2) Didn't research their product they were interested thoroughly (make sure that the product you are bidding on is described correctly; check to see if local stores are actually selling the item, etc etc)
3) fall for "too good to be true" prices (yeah, Im gonna sell a $35,000 car for only $5,000)
4) failed to follow one of the listed policies on Ebay.

Paul, you are killing me...
AUTHOR: Debbie - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, September 21, 2005
However, I HAD to respond to Paul's comments about losers buying "junk" off Ebay.
I've been buying and selling on Ebay for over 10 years. I have never once been 'scammed' and have always been pleased with my purchases. I have had ONE issue with feedback - and yes, I've always thought that the feedback policy is bullshit. I bought a CD (out of print) from someone, paid them immediately. They said the CD was brand new, still in wrapper. I only paid $5 for it. I get it..and although it is in "shrinkwrap", it was not new. The only way I knew this was because it had writing inside it. It still played fine and I was happy with it. I left NEUTRAL feedback for the seller, stating that the item arrived quickly, but was not "new" as described. He came back at me with Negative feedback, saying I was the dishonest one! That pissed me off, because as a buyer, I DID MY PART! I PAID for the item, very quickly I might add. He did NOT do his part...he misrepresented the item.
Aside from that, I have had absolutely no problem with Ebay and have found many hard-to-find items that are NOT available at my local TARGET or WAL-MART or anywhere else. I have also sold items that other buyers were ecstatic to get, because they are collectors items. Even if I want something simple that I can go buy anywhere, I always check Ebay first, because chances are, even with shipping costs, I can get it there cheaper. For example, I went to see Metallica on the Summer Sanitarium Tour last summer. Tour shirts were $35. I went home, got on Ebay and ordered me one up for $15. See Paul? To me, you sound like one of those people that are too afraid to pay bills online (for example) because you fear someone will get hold of your credit card number! AACK!!! You won't join Ebay because you have to give an account number? Oh NOOOOO!! So they want to weed out the freaks and make sure you ARE who you say you are. Crazy huh?
Do us all a favor Paul, keep your money in your pocket and keep shopping at Target...those of us that "get it" will keep right on getting bargains on Ebay.

Ebay & PayPal...same company and BS!
AUTHOR: Bernie - (Japan)
SUBMITTED: Thursday, June 30, 2005
What I mean is, I thought I was just thick when getting the run around from ebay on fees I knew I didn't owe them! For months and months they persisted that I owed thousands of dollars, when I knew I didn't owe them anything!
Next thing I know, PayPal starts emailing me saying they were freezing my account until I paid ebay the fees I owed them! Only, their amount was completely different! When I pointed this out to them, I was offered a reduction!!
In the end I had a lawyer friend write to them with threat of a class action lawsuit for stress and false claims, with media coverage guaranteed! Two days after they received my letter, both ebay and PayPal emailed me to apologize for the 'misunderstanding', and that the debt was cancelled!
IT WASN'T EVEN MINE IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!
Secondly, has anyone else felt like they've been shill-bid? That's where you bid on an item, and you're the ONLY PERSON to have bid on that item, but your name is listed 2 or 3 times under the bid list, with an INCREASE in the bid amount.
This happened to me TWICE, and ebay refused to accept that I was the only bidder!! Sheesh!
I never paid the final price on the items, as both times the sellers saw the shill bids and agreed to accept my first bid only!
Thirdly, who gives a flying monkey about ebay's pathetic feedback ratings! I've had mine ruined by 2 idiots. One who sent me fakes instead of genuine items as listed, got negative feedback from me, then left me the same!! Ebay wasn't interested in my claims for being conned and never removed the feedback. The second idiot, a moron by the ebay name of 'buttpipe', won an auction of mine (knocking out 27 other bids), and then called ME a SCAM-ARTIST in a follow up to his +ve feedback, less than 12 hours after winning the auction! I hadn't even had chance to send him his goods! In emails back and forth to each other, with copies sent to ebay, he claimed he never even bid on the item! JERK!
Ebays feedback BS is designed to make you feel good or bad about yourself. It's pathetic and serves no real purpose. If you think you need ebay feedback to feel good about yourself, you need to get out more!
TIP: An easy way to build your rating back up is to simply buy 1 penny items!
As someone has suggested, there are other auction sites out there, as for me, screw ebay, I use Stormpay and others.
As for PayPal - you can keep your ridiculous fees, (same to ebay), using Stormpay or NeTeller, I save money on ALL my buy & sells on other sites!
Ebay - you suck!

A couple of months ago, we sold a surf board, in the listing I stated payment was due with in 10 days or item would be relisted. Well the buyer called a few times asking me to ship the surf board and then she would send me a check.
You know that wasn't going to happen. Well 24 days after the end of the auction I reported the unpaid so I could relist it. The buyer got mad, paid the same night through Paypal. We informed her that the surf board would be shipped out that friday.
With in 45 minutes after that, I got a notice from Paypal, there was a hold on my account, because she had not received the surf board. Receieved my 1st negative feedback on ebay. We cleared everything up.
But in 1 more instance, I had one other buyer leave the following * just as described, fast shipping but smelled like smoke. * If it was a problem why didn't the buyer ask ahead of time if we smoke. I have also bought things that took me as long as 3 months to receive. So the blame lays on buyers as well as some sellers.

How is their feedback syste, no different from Ripoffreport.com
People LIE on the reports filed here. People exaggerate what exactly went wrong, yet you guys want to chastise ebay for having a system in place that pretty much is similar to the sites here.
Newsflash people: FEEDBACK is voluntary. YOU do not have to leave feedback if you dont want to. ITs nice, but its not the end of the world if you're precious 100% feedback dips to 99.9% Sheesh. Get a freaking life.
Get a negative that you feel you didn't deserve? Then file a "reubuttal" that feedback and move on. People who are smart enough will look into that negative to see if its deserved.
Please keep your everybody quotes to those that need it. Oh, yes, you can't buy my stuff at Wal-Marts either. As far as feedback goes. I have never had a bit of problems with it. PayPal has never taken money from my account and they have never frozen my account either. So maybe it is you that have the real problems because fo what you are doing.

AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)

At ebay, it ends according to some clock. Bids are still coming in, but when the countdown reaches zero, that's it.
Instead, they should keep the clock. However, the auction doesn't end until a full minute has gone by WITHOUT any new bids.
Here's how it would work. Your auction ends at 5:00 PM. At 4:50, bids start coming in fast. The item up for sale is in big demand. At 4:59, lots of bids are still coming in.
At 5:00, a red indicator would start flashing. Now, you have 60 seconds to enter your bid. If not, the auction will end.
At 5:10, the bids are still coming in. The indicator is still flashing. The price has gone from $80 to $140 between 5:00 and 5:10.
By 5:13, the bids are still coming in. Now, the price is $160. The new bids are moving up just one increment.
At 5:18, the last bid comes in. At 5:19, the auction ends. The sale price is $169. About DOUBLE the price at 5:00. Ebay will get more. The seller will get more.
And, this is a true auction. There's no more sniping. There's no more stealing something for cheap just because the clock runs out. With this, you get the highest bid, always.
Here's another idea. Don't let auctions end at midnight. Who the hell's up at midnight? Make every auction end on peak bidding periods. Morning, noon, and early evening. The seller can choose from those three periods.
That way, people are awake and able to get in their bids. They don't have to use auto-bidding. So, they can decide to spend a little more if they want.
Disputes should be handled by an arbitration committee within ebay. Impartial. Unbiased. In fact, no names would even be used in the process.
Let's say that you received junk. You box it back up and send it to arbitration. Ebay looks at the item and determines whether it was described accurately or not. If it's not like the seller claims, the junk gets returned to the seller and he returns the money, plus a fee for arbitration. Plus, it would be noted in his future auctions.
In addition, new members would have to deliver by a traceable method, AND supply that tracking number to ebay. None of this nothing-sent nonsense that goes on now.
The bottom line is that ebay needs to make a real auction. Keep the sellers honest. And, mediate disputes.
Who knows, if they did that, maybe I'd actually be willing to buy something there!

Why do you think I'm so down on this damn ebay? This damn auction causes more trouble than it's worth.
It's not paranoia. There really is something legitimate to worry about! I read these complaints every day for over 6 months now. I see a pattern with ebay/paypal.
Why do you think I warn people?
Your bank account may be empty, but you're far from safe. Ebay will take the funds. The bank will send you a notice. Either you pay or they blackball you. If that happens, kiss any bank account goodbye.
You like credit? If you don't pay, they'll turn it over for collections. You cheated a bank? Oh, yeah!! That always looks great on a credit report!
You're next loan will be in the 22ND century. The interest rate will be 3 million percent.
At least try to get the jacket back. Why lose twice?
You know, I'm not psychic. After a while, you just learn to spot patterns and trends. Throw in a little understanding about human nature, and you can go a long way.
You're young yet. You'll learn!

and I will never have a buy dispute my purchase and have ebay refund without my authorization as I dont leave money in my paypal account, once it's there I have it transferred to my bank account leaving the only way that ebay can get it is through my debit card which I can easily dispute with my bank and have the funds returned just as easily as they were taken out.
In the event that that happens, I will more than likely think less of ebay and move to another site, but as I said before, as we all move to another site away from the cheaters, the cheaters will follow. They are like nomads. They go where they can survive.
and as for you learning from others misfortunes, which dont get me wronge, that is a good thing most of the time, but man you got to learn to take some sort of risks in your life. Other wise what the fun in living. If life was just perfect, empty of risks and situations that one must overcome then I would have killed myself along time ago, as I would have seen no point to living. I see no point to a perfect world.
Agent Smith from the matrix said it best when he said that we as a speices define our selves through trials and suffereing.. or somthing to that effect.
but like I also said. You dont like ebay, dont go there.. no ebay no cry, but just remember, you take a risks every time you wake up in the morning.. none of us know when our time is to go, and most people never even think about it. The biggest risks people ever take is walking out their front door every day.

It's not free to join ebay. You have to provide a bank account number. You take a risk of loss by doing that.
AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Wednesday, March 16, 2005
Those same victims reported that the company offered no way to dispute the loss of funds. The customer was unable to call anyone and discuss the matter. All that was available to them was futile email correspondence.
Basically, the company seems to do whatever the hell they want!
It wouldn't be so bad if they always did the correct thing. But that's not always the case. There have been victims who did nothing wrong. For example, the buyer chose to dispute a purchase. The item was exactly as described, and in working condition. Yet, the buyer wasn't happy. So, ebay removes the money from the seller and returns it to the buyer. Now, the seller is left with nothing. No item. No payment. And, the buyer gets both the item and their money back.
How is that fair?
In addition, ebay allows ongoing businesses to defraud people. A watch expert went to ebay and warned bidders that he knew the items listed were fakes. What did ebay do? Did they stop the auction and suspend the seller's privileges? Absolutely not! To the contrary; the told the watch expert to mind his own business and stay the hell out of other seller's auctions.
If that's not condoning fraud, I don't know what is!
This is what's going on there.
Define the word loser. It means someone who loses.
With all the nonsense going on in ebay, it is reasonable to describe the transactions as a gamble. The feedback system is corrupted. The payment reversal procedures are too. Anytime you make a transaction on ebay, you run the risk of a loss.
Granted, it makes sense to buy something that is unlikely to be found anywhere else. A collectible or an item that is no longer in production may simply not be available outside of ebay. That's about the only situation where a purchase actually makes some sense.
But, to buy a common item, that is available in a local store? Why take the risk if you don't have to? How does that make any sense?
People look at ebay as this gold mine of opportunity. In actuality, it's the exact opposite. While there are many reputable sellers there, there are many more that look at the situation as a great opportunity to cheat someone. I suspect the fraud outnumbers reputable sellers now.
So, keep gambling on ebay. What happens when people continue to gamble? Eventually, they will lose.
Now, do you see why I use the word loser?
Many ebay members share one common trait. They have a distorted sense of reality. The sellers think they are going to somehow reap this great wealth of riches there. While the buyers continue to delude themselves by thinking they will actually get something of great value for pennies on the dollar.
The reality is nothing like that. The great bargain that buyers think they are getting is most likely a Chinese copy of the real thing. Or, maybe a refurbished or grey market item. And, the sellers quickly learn that the income is not what they hoped it would be when they started.
I see this happen time and time again with ebay members.
If you are one of the fortunate people who have made worthwhile transactions, then I'd describe you as lucky. But, like so many others, one day your luck will run out.
How will you feel about ebay then?
I learn by observing the misfortunes of others. That way, I can gain the experience without having to incur the loss. As long as there are significant numbers of unsatisfied complaints here, I'll continue to avoid ebay. Why put myself in harm's way?

Now to your post. I'[m sorry you had such a bad experience with ebay. However if you had joined, which is free to join you could have seen the price that items have sold for. You simply have to click the box labled "completed listings" Then you could bring up a list of items that have sold and you can see what they sold for. Green prices are items that sold, and Red prices are items that did not.
And I realize that people buy Jackets to be warm, however you fail to realize that this jacket I sold was a collector's item, and that the person the bought it from me is a star trek collector. More than likely he/she has jackets all ready and is not going to were this one. Go ahead and call him an idiot. I'm sure you are dying to.
But you know darn well that you had a collection of some sort that other would consider a waste of time and money at some point in your life, and if not then you are one of the few. But you know what, Paul, if you think so poorly of ebay simply dont go there.
We would rather you not be there anyway. Besides I would hate to take away from the time you have in the day to come here and complain about it. At any rate Im going to end my post here. I look forward to see how many time you refer to me and other ebayers idiots in your next post.

Not everything on EBAY is junk.

I'm very fair with my customers. In my auctions I let the people know every little thing. When I sold my STEREO I explained every single little scratch and bit of dust. I always inform people to ask me any questions( I also tell them what timeframe I will get back to them) they have. I try to be as completly honest as possible.
I always e-mail right as the AUCTION ends to reiterate shipping and payment details. I e-mail once the package is sent with tracking info and then I e-mail just to make sure the item got to the customer.
There are EBAY stores run by people who know what they are doing and treat the customer the way they are suppose to be treated..
Back to my original point.. I work for a LARGE electronics chain here in NY and I got better prices on NEW CAR AUDIO items than my own company could give me.
Remember Ebay is 1 huge GARAGE SALE.. There will be fraud will all Internet Sales. Online fraud will be the #1 problem for a long time.
Hey search DISCOVER CARD(on here) and see that regular MULTI-BILLION dollar compaines are engaged in fraudulant claims.
Fraud is not limited to people pulling a scam on EBAY.. You can find some great (NEW stuff) even old stuff people want to get rid of at great prices.
You can easily find junk in any BRICK AND MORTOR store.

Why didn't it sell and the customer come and pick it up? Why is it still there?
I tried to see what stuff is selling for on ebay. After all, price is the difference between a bargain and a ripoff, right? So, I went to check the prices of stuff on ebay.
You know what? You can't see what anything actually sold for. Ebay won't let you. They hide the item once the auction ends.
I actually wrote in and asked about that. I told them why should I join unless I can see some value in your site? No reply. Blew me off.
Since I can't see the sale price of anything, why would I join? Would you agree to buy something before you were told the price? Maybe if you're Donald Trump.
I'm not Trump. Price matters to me. I ain't paying $100 for something I can buy from a real store for $75.
Plus, anyone who comes here reads about all the ebay/paypal fraud. That certainly makes me hesitant about joining.
Then, I come here and read that ebay doesn't do anything about the fraud. These power scammers go on day after day, cheating customers as fast as they can bid on the trash.
Plus, all the fake junk that's sold as the real thing!
Then the feds tell me that auction fraud is their biggest complaint.
Add it all up! What do you get?
You'd have to be out of your mind to buy that trash!
Technically, you're correct. I can't find a Star Trek jacket in Target. What the hell is a Star Trek jacket anyway? If I wanna see captain kirk, I'll rent the video.
I buy a jacket to keep warm in cold weather. I'm not looking to beam up to a new planet!
After coming here and reading all the ebay fraud, I'll tell you what. You could put a ton of gold bars on there and sell the whole lot for $50. I won't bid. I couldn't anyway. I'm not a member.
I'll just look at the trash and laugh. Keep your gold. And, your funny little jackets. And, the rest of the garbage that losers think they can't live without.
I'll keep my money right in my pocket. That's my idea of a good deal!

Im not saying Ebay is perfect. I am always worried Ill soon deal with a Feed Back Barren, but lets face it. No web site, no business is perfect. They all have flaws so we just have to find the lesser of the evils or do what most humans find easier to do..stick to what you know. I know Ebay. Ill stick to it until I feel that it is screwing me over. Sure other auction sites exist that are currently better than Ebay, but lets face it, some day they will be just as bad if not worse.
Getting Negative feed back does suck. It really sucks when left by a seller as a sell should only leave bad feedback when an item is unpaid. All the buyer is obligated to do is pay. Once they pay, Positive feedback should be left. This is my policy on ebay. Unfortunatly we do live in a world that contains people that look out for them selves and think that the world owes them somthing. (We all do this to a degree... except maybe monks)
In closing I would just like to say, that I am sad to see that so many people think poorly of Ebay just because the people that use it are horrible. Remeber, as you leave Ebay those horrible people will eventually be forced to flock to the customer's new auction site and ruin that site, forcing you to move again. At any rate I will stop here as my post is going no where. Sorry you had a bad experience.. Good luck in the future with what ever you do online.

So, show me one good reason to ever go to ebay.
I certainly can't see any reason. All the stuff is complete trash. Why do you think it's on ebay in the first place?
It's these losers who think they are going to find a pot of gold. They buy into whatever trash the seller dreams up.
Anybody with even half a brain can see how it's going to turn out. The feds tell you right off that auction fraud is their number one complaint. Who do you think they're talking about?
Smart people laugh at this ebay nonsense. Sure, there are millions of people on it. These are the same people who routinely get cheated in everything else they do. Idiots, who spend their hard earned money on empty promises and broken dreams.
Make no mistake, the ebayers will smarten up eventually. It's really just a question of how much they need to lose first. That's all. Even the dumbest people have a breaking point.
You just need to ask yourself how much you're willing to lose before you give up and walk away from this nonsense.

Feedback tips eBay has a VERY serious policy against feedback extortion
AUTHOR: Nick - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, March 15, 2005
ANY Feedback less than 99.1% is BAD.
Before you bid, look at the seller's feedback. There is a section called, Feedback left for others. Check this out. Revenge feedback just cries out from this angle. If they leave any negs click on them and look.
Sellers don't care so much about how many negs you have. Sure some will block you from bidding but usually if the TOTAL is below zero.
Since most people snipe, this isn't even an issue cause they can't check on who's bidding till after you won.
NEVER deal with powersellers, they are too involved to give you the personal attention you need. Remember there is virtually NOTHING so unique that it won't come up again within six months for sale again on eBay
FINALLY NEVER EVER EVER leave feedback until it's left for you.
Remember you goal for using eBay is to get a DEAL, not to collect feedback. If you aren't getting at least a 50% saving (watch Shipping and Handling gouging too) it's not worth the risk. Go to a Brick and Motar store.

I'm assuming that no one from Ebay has seen the items first hand, no one unless you've filed a report has reviewed the logs, nothing.
So who deserves the negative feedback? Also, NEVER give someone positive feedback unless the deserve it. By giving someone a positive you've given the green light to other buyers to deal with the scum, that's simply not even ethical.

AUTHOR: Joe - (U.S.A.)

I don't care if someone has a couple of Negs.
What chases me away are those sellers with 100% positive feedback, yet have hundreds of "mutually withdrawn" feedback. That tells me they are leaving retalitory Neg feedback to the disatisfied buyer. Both Negs can then be withdrawn if it's a mutual agreement. It's a sneaky way for a seller to keep cheating people while still retaining 100% positive feedback.

I've been telling people about ebay for years. It's been fraud right from the start.
AUTHOR: Paul - (U.S.A.)
SUBMITTED: Tuesday, March 01, 2005
It's the perfect venue for fraud. It was only a matter of time before the crooks figured that out. I knew on day 1 that this would happen.
Plus, ebay couldn't possibly regulate all the transactions even if they wanted to. Too many.
Now, the motivation's all gone. Now, they just sit back and collect as much as they can. They accept the fraud. As long as they get paid, let the customers fend for themselves.
So, now that the gates are wide open, a flood of fraud has taken over. Fake auctions. People who send either nothing or complete junk. Read about it here. Every type of complaint you can imagine is listed on this site.
Then, to top it all off, paypal goes out and takes whatever they like from member's accounts. No explanations. No disputing it. The funds are removed. The account is frozen.
Now, the seller has neither the item nor the money. Doubly screwed.
Some bargain. I was the one who wrote these comments months ago.
Ebay is for people who cannot maintain a business in real life, so they sell on Ebay. Also, people sell junk on Ebay that they couldn't sell in real life.
If you currently associate with either ebay or paypal, search here and read all the complaints. Then, check the rest of the internet.
After a couple of hours of reading, trust me, you'll change your tune in a hurry.

These Are "Battle Scars", According to eBay

I have two negs under tomloweculturalanthropology out of 6,000+ transactions. Both came from deadbeats who were trying to shove PayPal down my throat when I was not accepting it. eBay just told me to consider the negs to be "battle scars".
Obviously a crock.
My advice: stay out of eBay, Mark, and find a more ethical venue to sell at. eBay is a garbage venue.
